We're Off To See the Witch [Active, Open?]

Characters: Ichihara Yuuko, Uzuki Yashiro, hopefully Maleficent but if not anyone wondering what the hell she is doing 8D
Content: Yuuko goes to pay a visit to the thorny City Hall...with tea
Setting: Outside City Hall...you know...the one with all the giant thorns around it.
Time: Afternoon
Warnings: Who knows...

It was a compulsion really, after all it wasn't every day that the town shrunk and huge thorny vines enveloped city hall. Yuuko might have ignored it of course, she could have easily...she'd ignored everything else. However there was something...compelling her to visit the place.

So, there she was, standing a few feet from the thorns with a basket and a thermos. She was dressed to impressed and was studying the structure of the thorns. "Interesting...very interesting." A grin broke out across her features and she cupped her mouth so that her voice would carry before shouting really loudly, "HELLO~ I BROUGHT TEA~ WOULD SOMEONE LIKE TO COME SPEAK WITH ME!"

Uzuki had left the restaurant, and Kariya--though he was probably still sleeping--in favor of going to see just what was going on. She'd heard whispers in the journals, and shouts on the message board, but second-hand accounts were never as good as seeing things for herself.

Her attention was drawn to the wall of thorns, of course, but she saw no way through, other than forcing her way in. She was debating the merits of an attempt when she heard the booming voice not too far away. She followed her ears.

"Do you think that will actually work?"

Uzuki smirked, looking first at the woman and then at the thorns once more. "It doesn't look like they want to be bothered."

Not that this was stopping her from trying to bother them, of course. And it was their own fault; a huge thing like this was noticeable in a city like this, and not only for being the only piece of real greenery inside the dome.

"If you do get anyone to come out, I think I'll join you," Uzuki added. "I'm Uzuki. You are?"

After leaving Mutt to his own devices, Fran had gone in search of new people to help or information to gather. The postings on the message board had intrigued her and she very much wanted to have a better understanding of the vaguely-stated take-over. She found two women standing as close to the front of City Hall as the tangled vines permitted and wondered if perhaps they were also hoping for an audience with Maleficent.

"Hello," Fran said with a friendly smile as she walked up to them.

"Hanging around so close to whatever they want to protect has to do something," Uzuki agreed, looking at the new arrival. She didn't look like anything special, but that didn't mean she didn't have some secret ability or anything. Paixao was weird, and with no apparent separation of the RG and UG, who knew what sort of abilities everyone was running around with.

The ability to build a wall of thorns overnight seemed to be one.

"I hope we don't get mindless guards or something," she said with a sigh. "That'd be so boring."

"Certainly. Are we waiting for an audience with Maleficent? I was hoping that I may speak with her," Fran said with a smile as she knelt down on the edge of the picnic blanket. "My name is Fran." She folded her hands neatly in her lap and smiled at the two women. She looked up towards the thorn-shrouded City Hall. "Do you know what sort of person this Maleficent is? Or her companions? They caused quite a stir on the message board, but they did not state what their intentions were beyond titles."

"I'm sure if we killed the minions we'd bring someone better out," Uzuki said as if she were suggesting they go shopping. She sat down on the blanket as well, tucking her legs neatly under her.

"A picnic until we draw some attention, then?"

She, for the most part, ignored Fran's statement, considering the girl rather naive. Yuuko had basically answered her anyway.

"I did not think it was normal for one to refer to themselves as 'evil' unless it was meant in satyr. Do you think she truly meant it?" Fran asked curiously. "She said that those who resisted her rule would be shown no mercy, but she did not say what the actual punishment would be." Fran looked back up at the building. "She didn't set forth any laws either. How are we even to know whether to agree or disagree with her yet? All that has been argued thus far is her right to call herself something."

"If they show up late, it's their own fault if the best stuff's gone," Uzuki said, treating the picnic in much the same way Yuuko was. A mass of thorns was a far more interesting location than a park anyway.

"It does seem familiar," Uzuki agreed. "And anyone who's going to try to take over generally doesn't mean to be nice about it."

Uzuki certainly didn't think she could claw her way to the top with cookies and lemonade. And the familiarity was odd. Uzuki could have sworn she remembered something like this--maybe even Maleficent--but nothing like that had ever happened in Shibuya. Maybe Kariya would know? She made a note to ask him later.

"No thank you," Fran said with a smile when Yuuko offered her a cup. "I'm not an organic life form." She looked again up at the wall of thorns. "That is why I came here, yes. I would like a great deal of clarification."

She looked at Uzuki at her comment and then frowned. "I think that it is often percieved that one who is conquering is doing so for a greater good. The resistance here in Paixao wishes to unseat the established power and a great many of the people within this city agree with them. The current power system is corrupt and is hurting its citizens. An upheaval is inevitable but it does not have to be negative. That's why it's so important to understand the goals of the contenders."

Uzuki raised an eyebrow at the "not an organic life form" comment, but said nothing. Perhaps this world--UG, RG, whatever--was really different from the one she was used to. Perhaps Fran was lying. Either way, it would require more research, and right now she was more interested in the other conversation.

"A contender who enters the game claiming to be the ultimate evil probably doesn't have the best of intentions," Uzuki said with a shrug. "Maybe it'd be better than the people in charge now, maybe it won't."

Either way, perhaps Uzuki could make it work for her. That was the goal, of course. Adapt to the current situation and take control for herself. And make sure Kariya didn't wander off along the way, of course.

Of course the Mistress of all Evil hadn't been able to overlook the guests who were essentially 'on her lawn'. Yuuko's calls had also been heard. Maleficent would have normally just brushed them off, but there was something about Yuuko that made Maleficent curious. Still, she took her time before finally leaving the walls of city hall.

From the thorns an orb of green light appeared, floating not too far from the small group. After a moment it seemed to expand, a dark cloaked figure forming from the light. The orb of light hovered above her hand finally dying away leaving nothing but the green orb of her staff.

The squawk of a bird rang out as raven landed on her shoulder, settling there happily.

The dark fae smiled, her expression relaxed, appearing untroubled. What she was really thinking, one could only begin to imagine.

"Well, what do we have here? A picnic? How quaint," she observed.

((WAY overdue. ;A; Sorry about that guys!))
