What do you know? [completed]

Characters:  Marluxia and Repliku
Content:  Experiments!
Setting:  Who knows?
Time:  Who knows?
Warnings: Um...  There are definitely some here, just not entirely sure what they are yet

Normally, Marluxia hated to be kept waiting.  Now was no different.

But when he saw just who the Dusks had brought him, a wicked smile creeped onto the Nobody's face.  Well, wasn't this lucky?  Just who he'd wanted to see...

The boy had become far too attached to the witch for his liking.  He'd see what he could to do break that relationship off, as well as make sure he didn't know too much.

Marluxia gestured toward the table for the Dusks to strap him in, watching every movement.

Repliku was doing his best to give the Dusks as much trouble as he could. With the way they had a hold on him it was actually a futile attempt though but that didn't mean he'd stop struggling. Nina was back there and he had to get her out of here, no matter what!

Only when the Dusks had managed to strap him down to the table the replica bothered to look around. What he saw was rather displeasing, to put it lightly. "You," he spat venomously. Why couldn't this guy just stay dead like he was supposed to? Stupid Paixao and it's messed up timelines.

Any other protest the replica might have had promptly died in his throat at Marluxia's words. He didn't know him? Didn't know the replica Vexen created? Didn't even know Riku? That meant this Marluxia was from a time before the whole ordeal at Castle Oblivion. It certainly explained quite a lot.

He couldn't allow himself to feel relief though, something told him this would change soon. "No," he replied as he narrowed his eyes at the man. He hardly had anyone close to him anyway...Wait.

Naminé.

Was he accusing Naminé?

"She has nothing to do with it!" He snapped, straining against the straps that were holding him down futilely. Pretty much the only thing the replica could do was glare spitefully at the Nobody. If looks could kill Marluxia would've been dead on the floor already, but unfortunately for Repliku the world didn't work that way.

He gritted his teeth at first, prepared to just ignore the question until he remembered something. "The Resistance," he lied easily. The Resistance did know quite a bit after all so perhaps the lie would work.

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-10-26 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Like hell." Repliku defiantly looked the other way. There was a grain of truth in the replica's words however. The Resistance, or at least Timon, knew about Marluxia but only because the replica had told him about the Nobody and his powers on the message board.

Just because he was lying didn't mean he was going to rat them out. They had a goal that Repliku shared and he didn't intent on giving any information about them even though Timon already had.

So things hadn't last long. He knew that was going to happen sooner or later. Though he would've liked to avoid it if at all possible. Now the damn bastard knew everything. Although the Nobody's reaction was almost worth it as Repliku coolly met the other man's gaze when he was forced to.

'No' lay on the tip of his tongue but then, the explanation was simple wasn't it? "I'm from the future." It was his turn to grin. Really, no other explanation was needed. He'd just seen his memories after all.

Repliku grimaced slightly when the Nobody's fingers dug into his cheek but otherwise made no other move. Simply opting to watch Marluxia's frustration with a hint of amusement until he started laughing. The amusement faded quickly then and the replica's glare returned once more. Laughter like this was never a good sign.

"I won't be used by you! Besides," There was a bit of the usual cockiness in his voice now. "You won't ever succeed no matter what you do."

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-11-03 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Anyone else might have been put off already, but not Repliku. He wasn't going to give in so easily and he most certainly wasn't afraid of Marluxia.

"Feh! I told you, you'll just fail again." He said as he sharply turned his head away. Of course, he'd lost his advantage now but it was one that had only been discovered a few moments ago so it hardly made a difference. It was just too bad he'd never gotten to use it.

He stubbornly ignored Marluxia's remark about changing his mind, making it pretty obvious how he felt about cooperating.

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Repliku's confidence came from the fact there would be people to stop Marluxia. He himself included if he could help it. And Sora. He had faith in Sora. The replica was certain that Sora would be able to overcome whatever the Nobody would throw at him. That was just what Sora did.

"Does it matter?" A different fate wouldn't change who he was - a simple replica. He was still a fake, no matter what happened. That was something he had figured out a long time ago.

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Repliku bit his tongue and stared straight up at the ceiling, trying his best to ignore the way he was being studied. He'd protest, if only to defy Marluxia, but there was an undeniable truth in those words that Repliku could do nothing about. Only at the unfinished sentence did the replica's attention snap back to the Nobody.

"...What?" He cast a suspicious look at the man. Whatever Marluxia had to say was no good but still...he was curious.

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Repliku didn't like that look one bit and he should ignore what the other had to say. It was obviously just another scheme of his where the replica be nothing but a toy, yet still Repliku found himself listening almost attentively. Like he was caught in morbid curiosity.

Though that certainly changed when Marluxia explained his other possible 'path'. He had the replica's full attention then and the Organization member's words struck a chord despite himself. Of course, Repliku still wanted to be his own person. His existence as it was he considered to be miserable. Even after dying he was nothing but a clone. So it was only natural what Marluxia had to say sounded good.

However, those words also sounded a lot like Axel's had when he had gotten the replica to kill Zexion and take his powers. That hadn't helped, so why would this?

Still, at that time it had been to surpass his original, to surpass Riku. But if he became better than even Sora then maybe he could actually become someone. If he were to take the Organization down then...

His thoughts grew conflicted and in a desperate attempt to hide this, to hide the fact Marluxia's words did have an effect on him, he turned to the one thing he couldn't do. "How can I when you even kidnap harmless children?" He asked as he looked Marluxia straight in the eye with the fiercest glare he could muster in his current state.

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-11-17 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"But why Nina!? What does the Organization want from a four-year-old!?" It was beyond the replica's comprehension. What use could she possibly be to them when she was only a mere child? None. Repliku couldn't see any. She hadn't done anything wrong and certainly didn't deserve being locked away in a cell to suffer for who knows how long.

"Let her go!!"

The replica's rage might have been something to fear if he wasn't so helplessly bound to a simple table. Obviously he didn't care who took her. The Organization worked together as a whole in his eyes. Marluxia may be a traitor but he was still working with them here and so, he was someone Repliku could blame.

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-11-28 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"There has to be something you can do." Repliku snapped, with a tone that implied, "if not, what use are you?" Though he was rather quick to shut up at Marluxia's little threat.

He turned his head away again, looking very much like a scorned child, as he muttered, "I don't care..." Although they both knew better. His tough acts wouldn't work here but that didn't stop him from using them. Old habits die hard and all that.

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-11-29 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
The replica looked uncertain for a moment, as if he were truly considering Marluxia's words. There was still one thing stopping him though, one thing that was far more important to him than even his own fate. Even if she wasn't quite the same as the one he had left when he died...

"What of Naminé?"

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-12-03 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Repliku grew silent for a good moment as he mulled it over in his head. He couldn't see any downsides of this deal, the Organization would be taken down, he would become his own person and most importantly, he would still be able to protect Naminé. Marluxia couldn't be trusted, he knew that but...this would be worth a try, wouldn't it?

"Fine," he replied eventually.

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-12-04 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Repliku had been too caught up in his own thoughts to really notice Marluxia's expression. Only when the other spoke to him did he snap out of it and turn his gaze back to the Nobody.

What he said rang true to the replica. He had done everything he could in Castle Oblivion to become his own person and every attempt had failed miserably. He didn't know any other way so Marluxia might actually be his only way, as much as he hated that. He could only nod reluctantly.

[identity profile] faked-heart.livejournal.com 2008-12-12 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, yeah," Repliku retorted with an almost drawling tone to his voice. He wasn't as stupid as to go and spill his guts about anything or make a fuss. He had stuff at stake too now.

Without protest the replica went along with the dusks, this time somewhat willingly. He would see how this all would play out...
