Some Meeting [Completed]

Characters: The Prinny Squad, Adell, and Sinspawn
Content: A reunion is cut a bit short by unwanted, rather hostile guests.
Setting: Somewhere between the Muspelheim and Joutenheim gates (around M5)
Time: Early Afternoon
Warnings: Likely some violence...bloody Sinspawn.

Keesling had forgotten that he was still a rather attractive shade of pink. It was the least of his worries right now, however - he'd found his squad. They were coming to get him. He had to go meet them. He didn't want to be on his own anymore.

While Keesling was taking things at a quick but exhausted trot, Bellatrix and Freidrich were all but sprinting. They'd found out where their missing squad member was, they'd heard he'd been hurt, and they weren't waiting any longer to find him.

Of course, this meant that when all three rounded the same corner going in different directions, it took a few very quick dodges to avoid what would've been a rather painful collision. Each of them skidded to a stop and whirled around, Keesling a bit slower than the others. There was a split second of silence, then:

"DOOD!"

The next second, all three prinnies were in a huge group hug, Bellatrix and Freidrich exclaiming loudly and excitedly and Keesling silently clinging to the both of them. Paint and kidnapping and the Organization be damned - he was back with his squad.

Adell was following Belatrix and Freidrich closely, slightly surprised at how fast they could run on those peg legs. Though he himself was more jogging than running to stay behind the prinnies as they were the ones who knew where they were going.

Because of his slower pace halting to avoid collision had been much more easier for him and he was left standing on the corner to watch the reunion scene unfold before him. A smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he watched. So they had finally found him...

Though he was still left to wonder just why the hell Larxene had painted the prinny pink, of all things.

Unfortunately for all involved, the happy reunion was shortly to become not so happy, as one of the Sinspawn had decided to invite itself to the party. However, unlike all the other Sinspawn to date, this one could almost pass for one of the Lumens of the city, except for the fact that no Lumen looked quite so eerily like a human woman with the addition of a number of tentacles.

But regardless of how harmless it may or may not have looked it still intended to attempt to kill those gathered. But first, it would need to get a bit closer.

Adell was quite quick to notice the approaching creature, the murderous intent not lost to him as a Demon Hunter. It wasn't like anything he had ever seen before in the Netherworld and that both intrigued and excited him. Finally, a battle!

Though before he did anything to engage combat he made his way over to Keesling, handing him some ABC gums with a reassuring grin. The prinny looked exhausted and although he didn't have anything against exhaustion maybe the gum would help a little.

Once he had handed over the healing items Adell joined the other two prinnies and took on his usual fighting stance. He'd been waiting for something like this!

So they'd noticed. Well, no matter. They'd all find themselves regretting it sooner or later. The only question was how best to begin things, the spawn's tentacles waving lazily as it looked over the assorted beings standing in front of it. That they planned to make a stand against it wasn't much of a problem. The knives being brandished were, or at least could be - it could take its hits, true but no need to take more risk then it had to.

But it had ways around that, casting Protect on itself before waiting to see how its new-found friends would react.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Adell was eager for battle and his faced showed it. He tensed when the creature began casting a spell, he was ready to take the hit or if possible dodge it, but none came. Odd. Must've been supportive magic or something. But no matter, if he had to be the one to deal the first blow then so be it.

And he was just about to do that until one of the prinnies started yelling. He briefly glanced at Freidrich. Would that really work? Adell paused, curious to see if the creature would listen.

[identity profile] summoning-sin.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Would it work? Not so much really. The Sinspawn certainly heard the words, and was probably capable of understanding them at least. But really, past that it didn't much care. Regardless of what was said or threatened or tossed its way it had but one goal.

Destroy whatever stood in its path. Regardless of who or what they were.

Go away? Rather, it would draw nearer, tentacles twitching forward, ready to grab onto whoever was the first to charge. Or whoever was the first to attack.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
So that hadn't worked, Adell was hardly surprised. Not that it mattered to him but it would've been odd if the creature had listened. Monsters never listened. Now the only other option that was left was to face it and that was something Adell, being the battle maniac he is, had absolutely no qualms about.

He was right there behind Freidrich, charging at the creature with his fists though he took more care in his step so he was ready to dodge out of the way of those tentacles if needed.

[identity profile] summoning-sin.livejournal.com 2008-07-14 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It would indeed be necessary to dodge, given that the tentacles formed the Sinspawn's first line of defense as well as a convenient why to keep anyone who attacked it at bay. Consequently, no sooner had Freidrich and Adell gotten with in striking range, they'd find tentacles wrapping rather firmly around flippers and wrists - the Sinspawn had no interest in being stuck at after all and what better way to arrange that then by immobilizing that which would have struck at it.

Besides, if they were held in place, it would be just that much easier to land a blow on them.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Adell was fast but the tentacles that wrapped themselves around his wrists and kept him in place indicated that he hadn't been fast enough. With an annoyed grunt he struggled against it's hold to not much avail. Then an idea struck him and he twisted his hand so he could grab a hold of the offending tentacle with every intention of pulling the creature towards him so he could land a blow of his own.

That was until he noticed what Bellatrix was up to from the corner of his eye and he stilled. He'd wait until after the bombs had struck (or not) before striking himself, if possible with a Vulcan Blaze.

While Friedrich's attempts to stab the Sinspawn's tentacles weren't entirely ineffectual, they weren't precisely enough to let the Sinspawn let go. Or at least, not yet. It was however, considering an attempt at pulling the knife out of Freidrich's grasp.

Or at least, it was until the first of the bombs hit - while it hadn't escaped the spawn's notice that someone was coming up on it from behind it had no idea what a bomb was or at least not until the first one exploded rather painfully at its back. The second one, on the other hand was caught by a couple of tentacle (just barely, admittedly, but still caught) and tossed rather carelessly aside, before the Spawn turned to face Bellatrix - pulling its captives along for the ride as it did so.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-08-02 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Adell struggled against the creature's pulling, planting his feet firmly on the ground in the hope it would halt it's progress a little. He tightened his hold on the tentacles as much as he could before suddenly pulling the creature towards him. Using the momentum to pull himself forward at the same time. He was ready to use one of his devastating skills until he saw the bomb flying at them. At this rate it wouldn't actually hit the creature.

Well then...he raised his fist and punched the Sinspawn. Hard. It should be hard enough to send the creature stumbling backwards and right into the bomb but Adell had no idea how resilient it was or if his blow would even land.

[identity profile] summoning-sin.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
As Adell may have expected, the blow did send the Sinspawn staggering back into the bomb, tentacles clenching tighter as the bomb exploded against it back. Like the one before it, it was more than a little bit painful

But the Sinspawn still had tricks of it's own to play and a captive audience as it were. There was more than one use for it tentacles, a pulse of Drain spreading through its tentacles to pair it still held hostage. Why bother knowing Cure spells when you could just steal what that would have given from your enemies, hurting them in the process?

It was so much more efficient~ this way.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-08-07 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Adell wasn't quite as loud as the Prinny, the moment Drain hit him he recoiled and grit his teeth against the pain. He was used to taking blows far worse but man, this still stung! He was very aware, despite the pain, of how his strength seemed to be ebbing away and knew exactly what the creature was doing. He hated this dirty way of fighting, taking someone else's health like that. Monsters never had any style, did they?

Adell fought the creature's hold once more, tearing and pulling at the tentacles in the hope of getting himself free so he could land a proper killing blow.

[identity profile] summoning-sin.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Although the knives didn't entirely succeed in cutting the tentacles, the barrage of knives did at least interrupt the spawn's Drain and left a rather thorough mess of its tentacles. It certainly wouldn't be doing nearly as much with them now without managing to heal them, and it had no real way of managing that.

And with yet another bomb exploding at it's back, even what little it had managed to get out of the Drain wasn't enough to keeping form being very nearly dead.

But it wasn't going let them have the satisfaction of being the ones to take it down, as it pulled the trapped pair in close with its ruined tentacles before self-destructing in one last explosion of energy and pyreflies.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-08-19 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Adell certainly hadn't either but just as he attempted to resist it's pulling and regain some distance between him and the monster, it exploded. What started as a startled yell became a brief cry of pain and the force of the explosion left Adell on his knees. He stayed put like that for a moment to regain his scrambled senses, ignoring the pain. Man, that was dirty!

"Y,Yeah, I'll be fine," he answered as he rose to his feet a little unsteadily. At least the damn monster was gone now.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
((s'okay, I know you've been busy. <3))

Adell had dealt with far worse, he'd be just fine. It was the Prinnies he was more worried about. Though they had always seemed pretty resilient...you sort of had to be if you had Etna as your master, he figured.

It took him a moment to consider Bellatrix's offer. Sleep certainly sounded nice, especially since he hadn't been getting much of that lately. Although there was something he wanted to check out first. "Yeah, I'd like to check something first though. I'll catch up with you guys later. Will you be alright?"

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-09 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that was enough to put Adell's mind at ease. He turned around and raised his hand, returning Keesling's wave gesture. "Take care." And with that he started walking in the opposite direction. There were still things to do, he couldn't rest just yet.
