Three heads are better than one [Active]
Characters: Naminé, Rhyme, Beat, and not necessarily closed to others
Content: So we drove around, lookin' for a Repliku... We didn't find one....
Setting: J7-ish
Time: afternoon
Warnings: Probability of cute = 100%
She knew it was futile, of course. Naminé wasn't sure why she had accepted the black hat girl's offer to help her look for Repliku. She already knew they weren't going to find him.
Yet here she was, sitting on a streetside bench, her legs dangling off the edge, journal held neatly in her lap. She'd arrived early enough to check the shop already, and as she'd suspected, he wasn't actually there. Which left her with no clues, no ideas... except that something about all this just didn't seem right.
I'll still keep the promise and protect you.
Would he really abandon her, like Larxene had said?
If he had, of course, it wasn't as if she didn't deserve it. She'd caused so much trouble, made so many people miserable... it was true, she wasn't worth returning to.
But Repliku knew about all that. He knew what she was capable of, what she'd done. And he had promised anyway.
Something wasn't right.

sorry this is late D;
She walking around in front of her and smiled her usual smile. She tried to be as friendly as she could. Namine didn't seem like she was used to people, at least from what Rhyme could tell.

He approached a little slower, looking as cool as he could. "Sup, yo," he said to Namine with a nod of his head. "Name's Beat. I'm comin' too- t' bodyguard, aight?"
no subject
"Thank you for... for coming," she said eventually. She'd been about to say "helping," but she couldn't very well thank them for that before they'd even had a chance to help.
no subject
Rhyme was happy that Beat had come along...then he was able to meet her new friend. But she didn't think it was necessary for Beat to be their bodyguard. She was sure they would be alright. But at least now Beat could get to know her new friend as well.

"Me an' Rhyme, us Bitos got a family motto. It's 'nothin' beats a Bito'!" he told Namine enthusiastically. "Aight so maybe I just made that up, but it's true."
no subject
But we aren't going to find him.
She didn't put a voice to that thought. They were so enthusiastic about helping her, they probably wouldn't believe it anyway.
"So... you're family?" she asked, still without smiling. The concept wasn't totally unknown to her, but it felt sort of alien nonetheless.
no subject
Rhyme nodded and continued smiling. "Yes. Beat is my older brother," she explained to Namine. She wondered if Namine had a brother as well. Maybe the person they were looking for was Namine's brother?
Rhyme felt a bit guilty for the fact that she didn't really know much about Namine. She would definitely have to make that effort.
no subject
Beat had a serious expression on his face and merely nodded as Rhyme explained. Being an older brother meant you had a set of jobs to do, if you were worth anything. One of those jobs was helping people out-- little sister or no, it was good to do what you could for other people.
"So what's this guy look like anyways, yo?" he asked her as they walked. "So's we'll know if we spot 'im."

After a second, she stopped altogether and flipped open her journal. A few taps with her stylus opened the simple drawing program, and she began sketching energetically. It took a couple of minutes, but to her this was far simpler than attempting to describe him.
Finally, she turned the journal over and held the image out so Beat and Rhyme could see. "He looks like this," she said. "... His name is Repliku."
no subject
She decided to voice her compliment. "You draw very well," she smiled. Her drawings would never turn out as well as that. Rhyme then turned her head to her older brother, her smile still present. "Right, Beat?" she prodded him. She wanted to make sure that her brother was social.
no subject
"Tha's pretty good," he whistled, thoroughly impressed. "S'like I'm lookin' at him right now, y'know? Aight, no worries. I bet we can find 'im now. Ain't gonna be too hard!"
no subject
And only moments after that, its master appeared.
A portal of darkness opened up behind Namine, and Marluxia stepped out, his hood up.
There were two others with her, just as he'd been told. He doubted they would give him trouble, and even if they tried, it was doubtful there was anything either of them could do to stop him.
Besides, this was just a pick-up, after all.
"Naminé," he called, taking a few steps closer. "You are to come with me."
no subject
Unfortunately, though, he was there...
She gasped, and her whole body tensed visibly, the action snapping her journal shut with a loud clap. She didn't have to see the man behind her to know who he was, but she turned instinctively to face him anyway.
"Ma-"
She choked back the rest of the name, remembering that she shouldn't say it.
What was going on? Had she done something wrong? Her mind went blank. She didn't know.
"I was-" she began, but nothing else would follow.
