It was a desperate sort of laughter, but she needed it right now. "Yeah, me too." Pulling her gun out of its holster, she let it drop at her feet. "Didn't help much."
That admission sobered her up pretty quickly. Her first and only line of defense didn't do anything for her, not in this situation. That was why she'd asked for help.
