Bro and Sis [Active, Closed]
Character(s): Beat and Rhyme
Content: Beat said he'd be there in two clicks to pick up his sister. Two clicks later, here he is.
Setting: Near Niflheim Gate
Time: Afternoon
Warnings: Beat's foul mouth and diabetic sibling cuteness.
And there were enough bad things in Shibuya to make Beat nervous about leaving his sister alone-- much less how many bad things there had to be in a crazy otherworldy place like this. Especially if what Reno said about the people who ran this place was true. Kidnapping, torturing, weird experiments... yeah, like hell was Beat gonna leave Rhyme to the mercy of whatever she got caught up in. What else was a big brother good for besides protecting his little sister?
He left Spot at a cafe near the station where they'd met Reno, swearing he'd be back in like, four clicks-- two to get to Rhyme and two to get Rhyme back. If two heads were bigger than one, or however the phrase went, Spot surely wouldn't mind Rhyme tagging along with them. At least, he'd better not.
Breathless from running as fast as he could all the way back to the gate, Beat screeched to a halt as it came into focus, darting his head right to left and desperately searching the crowds for her. "Rhyme! YO!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. "I'M HERE! Where you at? RHYYYYME!"

When she heard her name yelled by a familiar voice she looked around, rying to find where Beat was. As soon as she caught sight of him, her lips turned into a grin and she ran towards her older brother. "Beat!" she exclaimed.

"I AIN'T EVER BEEN SO GLAD T' SEE YOU," he wailed. "DON'T WORRY, YO, YOU AN ME'S GONNA STICK TOGETHER AN' WE'LL GET OUTTA THIS LAME PLACE SOON, AIGHT?"
After a few seconds in which he fully convinced anyone walking by that he was the one in need of consoling, he let her go and took a deep breath in a feeble attempt to calm down. "How long you been here?"
no subject
"It's good to see you too," she replied to him.
She stepped back when he let her go, looking up at Beat, and trying her best not to become too emotional at their reunion. Beat was being emotional for the both of them. "I haven't been here long...just got here a little while ago."

"I only been here a day or so," he muttered. Phew. At least she hadn't been on her own for too long. "Mom an' Dad gotta be freakin' out... This place looks nice but I guess it ain't all that safe. So we betta stick together, aight?"
no subject
But Beat presented a good point. Mom and Dad. Rhyme felt a bit sad thinking back to her parents who thought of them as dead. She knew that their parents were still mourning their death. And here they were...alive...and they couldn't reach them to tell them that they were. It was unfair....really unfair.

That reminded him. "Remember Lollipop an' Pinky? They's here too... I ain't sure why, cuz they say this ain't any kinda game and they ain't runnin' the show. But I hear the guys who do run this place are bad news."

"So, you hungry?" he asked. "We better go find Spot an' then we can figure out some place t' stay... an' maybe get some chow. Cuz man, I am STARVIN'."
no subject
She nodded at Beat's question, "Yeah, I'm kinda hungry," she replied.

This place may have been dangerous and there may have been people out to hurt others-- but they had another thing coming if they thought they'd get their hands on Beat's little sister. Not her. Never again.

"I was standin' in the street messin' wit' my journal- they shoulda gave you one too. An' this guy comes up and he ain't got a clue what he's doin' or where he is or nothin'. So I thought, if this was a Game, I better get a partner fast as I can, y'know? So we shook on it- an' we been stickin' together since then. He's pretty cool... think he's a few pork filets short of a bowla ramen though.'

"Yes, I got one of the journals too," she stated. "I haven't really gotten used to it yet." Hm...maybe Beat could show her how to use it. He probably picked up on a few things when messing with it. After hearing Beat describe Spot, she smiled, "I can't wait to meet, Spot."
