Get Down, Baby! [active/open]

Character(s):  Akutare and any other party-goers
Content:  To keep himself entertained, the Dark Hero decided to throw a party.
Setting:  The Wild Ginger
Time:  Late Afternoon going on into the night
Warnings: None as of yet... but I'd suggest you not be the last one out of there.

[Note: Since there's probably going to be a bunch of people in this post, I figure it'd be best to break it up into mini-threads.  Just make your post in here and others will reply to it or make a completely different post if your character is gathered somewhere else.  Feel free to thread hop in between and have fun~!]

While he waited for everyone to arrive, Akutare lounged in one of the chairs, fiddling with his journal and pointedly ignoring the disapproving looks from the man nearby.  It had taken the demon a long time to convince the owner of the establishment to allow him to throw this party (especially since it was so sudden), but he'd managed to get it done, promising the owner that everything would be paid for along with a bonus for all of the people who happened to be working that night.

Now that he thought on it, it had actually been a lot easier than Akutare had expected.  Not that he was complaining.  He probably just happened to get a particularly gullible and greedy group of suckers on his hands.  All the better for him!  Still, he wondered just what kind of currency they had in this place, anyway.  Everything seemed shiny enough that they probably had something that glowed or something like that.  Maybe.  He guessed he should have asked something like that when he just came in.  Oh well, he'd manage somehow.

"Aaaaand posted!" he noted to himself, pressing the button and waiting for the responses and people to roll on in.  Haha, this was an awesome idea.

She waved a hand through the air, a confused look over her face. "He... he looks like Riku. But he's not him. It's really weird. I haven't talked to him much." When she finally had met him face to face, she was 'ill' at the time. But he had argued with Riku when he was here and... "I don't really know. They could've come afterward. I only met her because Riku had said I should... but I'm not sure why. He's gone now."

With a sigh, she slouched back. "I don't get it."

Here Kariya paused, though he camouflaged the delay as politeness by having his mouth full. It was too soon to know whether or not the info he had picked up was too sensitive for disclosure - a murdered mayor, mass erasure and the monster mash out on the west side, the complete lack of an RG - but he still needed more dots on the page before he could start connecting them.

But even if it was all harmless, he very simply didn't like being peppered with questions.

"Depends on what you mean by 'interesting,'" he said at last, coolly.

[identity profile] keychainheart.livejournal.com 2008-09-19 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Weird," Sora agreed as Kairi explained Repliku to him. He would have to meet Repliku, too. Surely he knew Riku if he looked like him? Though there was no guarantee the doppelganger was a good guy, though. All the more reason to meet him.

It seemed like Riku was from when Sora was, too--or at least around the same time. That was good. Though, if that Riku was gone, could an earlier Riku show up? That would be... Even more confusing than everything was right now.

but how to explain Naminé to Kairi? "She's... She's like part of you."

[identity profile] ladyepithymia.livejournal.com 2008-09-19 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Was he being evasive intentionally, or did he not even notice? Either way, it was annoying. Not that she showed it--she maintained her pleasant, if somewhat distant, smile, and probed further.

"Tell me what happened and I'll tell you if it is," she said, smiling a bit more.

It did, at least, seem like something had to have happened to merit that particular answer, evasive as it was.

[identity profile] itsbeanpaste.livejournal.com 2008-09-21 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Being difficult came naturally to him, true enough. But something about this line of questioning ran up a flag in Kariya's mind. There was a line, you see, between run-of-the-mill gossip and straight-up fishing for information, and she was walking right down the middle of it.

Maybe she had a chain he could yank.

"Nothing much. Oh - I did get to see an evil clown," he said, picking an event that felt relatively innocuous. "Funny guy. Not a lot of jokes, though."

[identity profile] ladyepithymia.livejournal.com 2008-09-22 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
That got her to raise an eyebrow. "An evil clown?"

Not necessarily the route that would lead her to the best information, but it was something. Sometimes a roundabout route was the fastest one, after all. And an evil clown was... Well, in a place like this, who knew what sort of information might come in handy?

Quality over quantity, certainly, but there was something to be said for knowing a bit of everything.

[identity profile] itsbeanpaste.livejournal.com 2008-09-22 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. 's probably still out there somewhere," Kariya went on, utterly failing to elaborate. This was assuming the guy was still alive, of course; he and Uzuki hadn't stuck around to check one way or the other.

He probably was. They hadn't summoned that much Noise on him.

"What'd you say your name was again?" he added suddenly, although he knew she hadn't said to begin with.

[identity profile] ladyepithymia.livejournal.com 2008-09-23 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Seems like someone so--interesting--would stick out in a place like this," Lust said, annoyed at the man's lack of elaboration but hiding it.

"I'm Luna," Lust said. "Yourself?"

Again she wondered if he was being deliberately vague or if this was just how he spoke. Too early to tell--but she took into account that the name she got might be fake.

[identity profile] itsbeanpaste.livejournal.com 2008-09-23 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
But the name she got was genuine. "Kariya," he replied, then, "Pleasure," as if 'pleased to meet you' was too much of a mouthful.

She didn't seem to be buying the whole evil clown deal, sadly. But it made a good segue, one way or another. "I'unno. Could be the monsters drowned him out."

[identity profile] myfearsmylies.livejournal.com 2008-09-27 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
It was pretty weird. Kairi should have tried to find out more...

Kairi continued to look at Sora strangely. She still wasn't following what he was saying, and she could tell that even he was having a hard time trying to explain to her. "A... part of me?" She had been feeling like something was missing... "Ah... how...?" Literally? Figuratively? ... no, no... but how could he mean literally? How would they have even gotten separated if it was literally?

The more she thought, the more confused she got.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
The day had started...awkward to say the least. Neither Adell or Rozalin had touched the topic on the state Rozalin had arrived in. Adell simply didn't ask about it, even though he really wanted to, he didn't want to push Rozalin. Not after what had happened. He'd much rather have her tell him when she felt she was ready to talk about it.

So instead he had told her everything he knew of Paixao as he showed her around the ever-shining city. Somehow ending up at the Wild Ginger. "This is the Wild Ginger. Though I've never been here so I don't what it's about." He stared at the door for a moment, something about the name of this place was very familiar but he just couldn't remember why, before he looked back at Rozalin with his usual grin. "Let's check it out."

He pushed the door open, ready to step inside until he noticed the small crowd of non-natives that was gathered inside. Why were there so many people here? He frowned as he stood in the doorway uncertainly and slowly a realization dawned on him.

Wait a minute....didn't Akutare...!?

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
To say it was awkward would be perhaps an understatement. Rozalin wasn't sure what to explain to Adell. She was rather frightened to. What would he say? Would he leave her if she told him? She didn't want to be alone. Then again, he did promise to protect her. Would he change his mind? ...But that wouldn't really be his... style, would it?

Still, she was uncertain. For now he hadn't brought it up, and she was grateful for that. Trying to seem like all was well, she listened intently to what he had to tell her about the place they now found themselves trapped in, and let him lead her around. It was a rather beautiful place she had to admit, but it wasn't some where she'd particularly like to be trapped in.

"The Wild Ginger?" she echoed, sounding a little put off, "It sounds rather crude, but if you insist."

She supposed it couldn't hurt to have a peek either way, and if it was unfit for her, she could always insist on leaving. She followed behind him, and practically bumped into his back when he stopped at the door. Peeking around him she tried to peer inside, "What is it, Adell?"

[identity profile] keychainheart.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Well..."

Sora paused, wondering how to explain it. It didn't make total sense to him, either, but he would do his best. Kairi had been out of the loop for so long that he really wanted to include her this time, especially now that she was the one with the most experience here.

"She's a Nobody, like the Organization, only not, because she's--well, they're all parts of someone else, not the heart part but the leftover part and--she's yours?"

He grinned a bit sheepishly; was he making any sense?

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
The party....how could he have forgotten?

While still mentally berating himself Adell turned around to face Rozalin, scratching the back of his head with an almost solemn expression. Ah...how to put this?

"I just remembered this is a bad place to be right now. Why don't we go check out the museum?" Really, he was just naming the next closest thing he remembered seeing on the map. He wasn't interested in the museum at all but hopefully it would interest Rozalin. She would probably like that better anyway, right? ...Whatever it took to get away from here before Akutare spotted him.

[identity profile] myfearsmylies.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Kairi knew about Nobodies. Riku told her, at one point. But that didn't make things much clearer. "Like... Roxas?" she asked, looking up to Sora. She didn't meet Sora's Nobody, not really. He fought Sora and then left, and Kairi had barely even seen the boy. She was pretty sure he was long gone, anyway. "But I've never been a Heartless, Sora..."

She did remember when he was a Heartless... an odd thing to wake up to after dreaming for so long... But she knew it was him. But...

[identity profile] keychainheart.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, your heart was in mine, right?" Sora said. "Back then."

Hidden away in his, and he had released it by stabbing himself, willingly making himself into a Heartless to save her. But if that meant he had a Nobody, than it meant she did, too, right? Because her heart was in his and he stabbed it.

or something. It was hard to figure out, really. Nobodies were confusing.

"Naminé helped us when we were fighting the Organization!"

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"A museum? Well, I suppose that would be mor--" she replied, but cut off as a familiar voice greeted them from behind Adell. Someone who knew him. In fact, Rozalin knew that voice also... wasn't that...

"Akutare?" she peered over Adell's shoulder back at the familiar blond haired demon. Well, that certainly explained Adell's attempt at a hasty retreat. Wait, did Akutare say he was holding a party?

She blinked at him, a little exasperated. "We're trapped in a city with no way out, and you're holding a party?" Of all the ridiculas things for someone to do.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-09 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
That was just his luck, wasn't it? At the sound of a familiar voice Adell slowly turned around, coming face to face with the very reason he had wanted to get out of here as fast as possible. ...At least someone was happy.

"It wasn't intentional, I assure you." He said as he crossed his arms. Of course there was little hope in Akutare actually believing that and possibly even less hope of getting out of here now.

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Now that was some VERY fuzzy logic. "How are you so sure there is no way out? Have you even bothered to look?"

It couldn't be possible for their not to be some way to escape, right? If everyone was saying their wasn't a means of escape, it could just be they hadn't found it yet. Perhaps the Last Boss hadn't yet revealed themselves, for example. Every place, after all, had a Last Boss. Perhaps the defeat of it would present a way home.

Rozalin could only arch and eyebrow looking less than amused. "Or wondering why we didn't leave sooner."

She turned to Adell, now pointedly ignoring Akutare. "Shall we be off?"

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
And of course Akutare was completely wrong but that was to be expected. Adell certainly was no party animal and it was very doubtful the demon before him had even bothered to look for an exit. It was like he didn't even understand the graveness of the situation they were in. Or maybe it was just that he didn't care at all. Either way, the battle maniac really couldn't be bothered to respond to that.

Instead he followed Rozalin's example and ignored Akutare as he turned back to the princess. "Yeah, let's." Much rather the museum than here.

[identity profile] myfearsmylies.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Kairi nodded a bit and seemed to accept that response. It... sorta made sense. She wasn't a Heartless, but when Sora released hers and became one himself... her heart kind of got lost in the mess. Or something. It sounded like a good enough explanation anyway.

"I haven't spoken to her in awhile.... I said you two should meet, but she insisted that you shouldn't..." But if she helped fight the Organization, then why not see Sora again?

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-10-20 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Their plan to leave didn't seem to be working out when Akutare suddenly was in front of them, blocking the exit.

Rozalin narrowed her eyes, and folded her arms to her chest, with a huff. The party 'just starting' wasn't much of a reason for them to stick around in her opinion. "What reason do we have to possibly stay?" she asked, giving a side glance to Adell.
