Promises Kept (Active/Closed)
Character: Ichihara Yuuko and Timon
Content: Yuuko sets up for a meeting with an interesting guest.
Setting: H6 Area, an old building with a painted black Monoka on the gate a sign nearby reads "Yuuko's Shop"
Time: Afternoon
Warnings: None
The grandfather clock chimed in the hallway and Yuuko found herself once again wishing she had someone to work for her...perhaps she should put an ad out or something...but then she'd have to pay them and Yuuko wasn't big on paying by conventional means...besides gold laced the ground of this world so it wasn't like they were heard pressed for that sort of thing. No, as a witch she had a reputation...she needed to find someone who needed her help and get them to do her chores for her in exchange. That could wait though...right now she was expecting company.
Sitting in her parlor she had an easy view of the front door of her building and while she generally wasn't so open with her shop this world had a strange vibe to it that interfered with her own magic...it meant she had to 'advertise' a bit more in order to get anywhere with her services. Not caring how long she had to wait for her guest Yuuko relaxed on the sofa, her long hair draping over the sides and a fan moving lazily back and forth in her hand...she looked forward to cake and booze.

"My aching feet." he groaned, dragging himself along. "Maybe I should have set a time n' day. After all this walking, she might not eve be home." The rodent frowned at the though. "Wouldn't that be just my luck?"
He observed the buildings he passed lazily. What was he supposed to be looking for again? A sign, right? Some sort of... Rabbit that was painted on the shop. He hadn't really been paying that close attention, his focus mainly on his feet rather than his surroundings. But perhaps that was what made what happened next even more surprising.
Suddenly, his feet came to a halt. Not because he made them, but because... Well, he didn't really know why. All he knew was that he was now completely immobile, regardless of his efforts to continue moving forward. "Hey, what gives?!" the meerkat questioned aloud. "I can't move!"
It wasn't long before panic struck, and a number of people responsible for such a crime quickly came to mind. However, before he could spook himself to greatly, his feet were suddenly back in motion. Not by his instruction, though, oh no. But by their own now. He unexpectedly jerked backward, his feet carrying him back a number of paces. He tried to latch himself onto passing buildings, plants, and structures, but failed miserably.
Once again he stopped.
"Eh?" The meerkat stared down at his feet before testingly taking a step forward. He was pleased to find his feet fully functional once again. Though, the shadow he noticed looming over him certainly gave him a jump. Spinning around, he looked up in shock. Then puzzlement.
Hadn't he passed this place? Why would his feet lead him to this dump, of all places?
He then noticed the painting on the gate. "Oh." His feet were surprisingly clever. This 'dump', as he called it, was Yuuko's shop.

Seeing as she had no one to answer the door she moved towards the threshold and slid the newly installed Japanese door open to her porch, eyes immediately traveling to her gate as she leaned against the door, "Oh~ so it's you." She had been expecting someone but there were quite a number of people it could have been. The person there of course was on the top of her list and so she smiled, "I've been expecting you."

Pausing, he considered the possible outcome of setting a date over the journals. It may not have resulted as a problem, it certainly hadn't before with the previous meeting he had made. But even so, the risk was still there. He had to be careful... And didn't enjoy having to do so.
Slipping through the gate bars with ease, he approached the mysterious woman. "Nice place you got here." he lied. "You can't miss it in a neighborhood like this. Must of been nice ta find a place to set up your shop quickly, hu? Any business yet?"
Once reaching Yukko's feet, Timon suddenly remembered his own. "You mind if we take a seat somewhere? My feet are killin' me."
no subject
She beamed at his compliment, even if it was a lie...she was used to that sort of thing from Watanuki, "Why thank you~ No business as of yet but I am still setting up things." She needed to throw up a few more wards for one as well as start working on getting customers.
Yuuko turned and gestured to the house-turned-shop, "Right this way I already have cake and alcohol set up for us." She looked upwards and heaved a sigh melodramatically, "Sadly I have no one to serve it or bake it yet so I had to buy from a nearby store...alas if only Watanuki were here I wouldn't have this problem and the cake would be 10 times better."
no subject
"Ah, I'm sure you'll get some in no time. You just gotta advertise a bit. If you can convince people you got somethin' nobody else has got... Something they need, you'll be boomin' with business."
Entering the shop, the meerkat immediately set his sights on the most comfortable looking spot he could find. He made himself at home, stretching out on the couch where Yuuko had been sitting only moments earlier.
"Who's Watanuki, your butler?" he asked, rolling onto his stomach while he observed the room. He could sense something in the shop, however what that something was would remain a mystery. At least, for now.

She watched him make a bee-line for her favorite couch and shrugged, he was a guest after all and it wouldn't be fair to kick the meerkat out. Instead she moved to a nearby matching chair and sank into it, crossing one leg over the other, "Butler? Well I don't think he'd like to be called that...but I suppose that's what he is...he was working in my shop to repay a debt to me." Her eyes moved to the cake and alcohol she had set out, "As for your visit however I believe I suggested cake and alcohol...would you like some?"
no subject
His mouth twisted, sharing a display of disgust before he stuck his tongue out. "You know what, I think I'll only have a little piece of cake. The stuff doesn't really agree with me. Sensitive stomach n' all."
Jumping down from his newly claimed spot, he examined the bottle of alcohol curiously. "Ooo, what's in here?"
no subject
Yuuko shifted in her chair, watching Timon examine the bottle while she cut the cake, a small slice as requested, "Alright...and the bottle contains a nice champagne I happened across...I figured more people enjoy it even when they don't have a...taste for stronger alcohols and I personally think it goes great with cake!"

Joining Yukko, he watched as she cut his piece from the cake. His paws rubbed together, eager to snatch the treat and stuff it in his mouth. He knew he would likely be sick from the desert, but the chocolate cake he had once before was simply delicious.
"You dine like this often?" Timon asked, deciding it was best to keep up conversation.
no subject
"Oh, no not that often...I lost my cook after all and it just isn't the same," Yuuko replied to Timon's question as she sat the cake before him. She then poured a glass that Timon would be able to use and set it down before him, "Here, let's see what you think."
no subject
By the time Yukko had finished pouring the meerkat his drink, almost his entire piece had vanished. Chocolate caked his lips, chin, and after he wiped his paws off on himself, his stomach too. He thanked her, sure to swallow his food first, then took the glass.
"Bottoms up!" he said, before taking a sip.
The rodent quirked a brow, swishing the drink around thoughtfully. It was... Certainly different. Nothing like he'd ever had before. He wasn't sure what he thought of it... So he took another sip. "Hm... I kinda like that. That's not bad."
ack, forgot about this, soooorrryyy
Lol, it's okay
"I can handle anything, remember?" the meerkat continued, pausing only briefly to take another sip of his champagne, then return to his cake. "It takes more than you think to bring ol' Timon down. Don't let the size deceive you. -hey, can I get some more of that stuff?"
Timon looked up at Yuuko and pointed to his empty glass.

She refilled her own glass and took a sip, "Ah~"

He finished his piece of cake quickly, giving a content sigh before rubbing his stomach. It went down well with the champagne, just as Yukko had told him. The mess it left, however, was uncalled for. He picked at his fur for a moment, then licked a small portion of it.
"You don't have anywhere that I could wash up before leaving, do you? The future mayor can't afford ta be seen walkin' around looking like this, you know. What would people think?"
no subject
The woman smiled knowingly and brought forth a basin of water, setting it before the small creature, "Here. I think this will help and you're absolutely right a person of power, such as yourself, must always set forth the best of impressions."
no subject
"How 'm I doing so far? -with the impressions, I mean. Cunning and resourceful? Majestic and powerful? Obviously handsome..." another sip was taken from his glass. It would only be a matter of time before the meerkat was on his third drink.
Looking into the basin, he poked at the water experimentally. He wanted an idea of the waters temperature before he lept in.
eventually we'll be done with this....maybe
"Impressions? Hmm," she tapped her chin in thought, "I would certainly call you cunning and resourceful...perhaps clever. You're also good company, I'll give you that." The woman clasped her hands together happily, "And an excellent drinker! It's so hard to find good drinking buddies sometimes!"
no subject
Finishing his drink, he slipped into the basin. His arms rested against the rim as he relaxed and simply soaked. "A good mayor needs all those qualities, you know? And things like reliability. I forgot about that one."

"Extraordinarily so." he replied to Yuuko's question, looking into the water as though trapped in a trance. The girl he remembered, she had been equally as kind. Her hair also black, long and radiant. She had fed him well and let him bath in her home. At the thought of this, his paw slipped out of the water to touch his red collar. Suddenly he frowned.
"Yeah mind givin' a guy a little privacy? I'm naked here!"
no subject
Yuuko chuckled and rose from her seat, "Not at all." She gestured to a small towel (had it been there before) folded nearby, "You can dry yourself when you're ready to get out." Yuuko moved across the room to the bay windows and looked up at the sky, pulling a pipe from her robes and beginning to stuff it with tobacco (where she was keeping all this was her own little secret).

Scrubbing the chocolate from his fur, song rose from behind the witch. Being Timon, he cared little for the fact that there was someone present while he sang in the tub. His voice was strong, fluent, and surprisingly pleasant to listen to.
"Sing, hey! For the bath at close of day that washes the weary mud away! A warthog is he that will not sing: oh, water hot is a noble thing~!"
He was quick to finish bathing, climbing out of the water basin in only a matter of minutes. As a result of shaking the water off, his fur took on a rather comedic appearance, making him look like one large puffball. Grabbing the towel set out for him he carefully wrapped it around his waist and began to flatten his fur out.

She turned around when she felt like she had given him ample time to get out and dry off (taking the end of his song as a cue). Yuuko didn't move away from the window however, instead blowing the smoke and letting it be pulled outside.

For some strange reason he was feeling particularly light headed. The meerkat couldn't put his finger on why -possibly because he didn't have any fingers-, but it felt a lot like the time he had stumbled upon fermented berries. Everything felt off, regardless of his familiarity with them. Why, even the floor felt unlevel. Had it always been like this? Why was everything spinning?
Placing his paws on his head, Timon groaned. "I think I outta get going, Pumbaa n' Vyers are probably wondering where I am. Uh, thanks again for the bath and sweets."
