Daniel had not been in Paixao very long. In fact, he had just arrived that morning. Most of his time, however, had been spent inspecting the curious device he had received at the gate, much rather than exploring the new land. And even after his thorough investigation of journal, in the end, he had discovered nothing. ... Well, aside from its ability to occasionally reply to the messages he left in it. He was suspicious of its enchantment, but predicted it would be of both great use and value. Most enchanted things were, especially when in his posession.

Seated on one of the many benches by Joutenheim's great gates, he continued to fiddle with his journal till it grew silent. Confused, Dan could only imagine the journal had grown tired of their conversation, or simply refused to speak further with him. He would let it rest for now.

Tucking the rather peculiar device away for safe keeping, he quickly rose to his feet. He had completely lost track of time, which seemed to happen often, especially when the knight found himself distracted so easily. There was so much to do, and time was something he was unsure he had. He began walking, observing his surroundings as he passed them. All except those in front of him.

His eye only came to notice the young, blonde haired girl before him just as he was about to collide into her. Thankfully, his fast reflexes kicked in at just that moment, allowing him to leap back before coming in contact with her. It came close, but no harm was done. None yet, at any rate.

Relieved, but awfully embarrassed, he apologized immediately in an almost indistinguishable, muffled, voice. "Sorry!"

[ooc: 's all right if Dan jumps in? And sorry about the double post]
