Nothing a stiff drink can't fix (Active)
Characters: Luxord, Yuuko
Content: Yuuko's in search of booze, and she seems to have found it - and a drinking buddy.
Setting: The Cheap Prayer [F5]
Time: Evening
Warnings: ...booze? :D
It had been far too long since Luxord had been to this bar. Seedy as it was, there was something about the atmosphere that kept him coming back. This place was a bit too shady for most "visitors," and the locals were like sheep - everyone left one another well enough alone and nobody noticed anything, let alone a black coat.
Not that he wore his in public anymore. It garnered a bit too much attention on the streets, and while that could be fun, it (along with a good chewing-out from the Superior) certainly wasn't what he wanted at the moment. Khakis and collared shirts had become his uniform of sorts, at least for the time being.
So he relaxed on his barstool, nursing a fiery red cocktail and letting the city go by. It wasn't as if the alcohol affected him anymore, but at least he could appreciate the taste.

The Cheap Prayer hadn't been hard to find at all...then again Yuuko seemed to have an innate talent for finding booze so it could have just been that. As far as she could tell it was your typical bar...with the evening slowly turning into night the customers would come flocking in...bringing her much needed information. She stepped in, making note of the people already there, her red eyes scanning over the crowd...someone, something of interest was bound to catch her eye.
And it did...she found that someone rather quickly and with no shame at all waltzed right over to where he was seated and pulled up a seat herself. "Mind if I join you," she asked sweetly (after the fact that she already had). She smiled and waved the bartender down, "Hello~ I'd like whatever he's having."

He waved at the bartender, signaling for him to double the order - Luxord's glass was near empty, and he could certainly use another drink - before turning back to the woman. "Interesting outfit," he commented lightly. "What's the occasion?"
no subject
She tilted her head to him and chuckled, "Occasion? Oh, there's no occasion, I dress like this because I like to." She glanced down at her outfit, a black shirt revealing a bit too much clevage and a tad too much stomach with long sleeves and white designs covering the arms and back of it (it looked like a butterfly if you looked at it in the right angle) as well as flared white jeans and black heeled sandals. Yuuko smirked and waved her hand, "Besides...clothes aren't very important are they? I'm not really one for the saying 'clothes make the man'...they may influence him but a person is far more than the clothes they choose to wear."
For example she had a feeling the man's clothes were hiding how interesting he truly was...but that was mostly her intuition. "So," she continued, "Care to share your name, sir?"
no subject
"Ah, forgive my rudeness," he apologized, sliding one of the newly-mixed cocktails the bartender had brought by down the bar to her and turning on the charm. "You may call me Tobias. And you, madam?"
no subject
Yuuko elegantly picked up the glass the cocktail was in, it was a nice color and she sincerely hoped the taste reflected that. Her lips curling into a smile she took a sip before speaking again, ah yes that definitely hit the spot. "Tobias, eh," the name rolled around in her head before plopping into some unknown area of information that she often stored, her smile broadened, "What a lovely name. You may call me Yuuko if you like...it's what I usually go by at any rate."

"If I might ask," he started after nursing his drink in silence for a few seconds, "what brings you down to this corner of the city? Surely you know the Glass Bonsai is just up the street." Where the liquor wasn't nearly as good, but it was a classier joint that many preferred. Frequenting the Cheap Prayer, however, made Luxord less visible - who paid attention to a seedy old bar, after all? - and so he continued to come here. He'd be interested to hear Yuuko's answer to the question, however.

"That uppity place? Oh no, it's not the type of place I'm looking for," Yuuko replied to Tobias' question, smirking all the while. "I may not look it but I'm fairly new to this place...and from experience the best places to get information are places like this...those 'nicer' bars never know the details I'm looking for." She swirled the liquor in her glass before downing a good portion of it, setting the glass down on the bar, "Besides~ I have a great sense for good alcohol...I knew this place would be better!"
no subject
"You're correct on both accounts. A meeting at the Glass Bonsai is merely a formality, whereas a meeting here has meaning...or at least good booze." He paused and sipped his cocktail. "No one makes cocktails quite like the Cheap Prayer, after all. This particular concoction-" He couldn't help but smile, or at least smirk, at the name - it amused him far too much, "-is known as The Roof Is On Fire."
no subject
"It's amusing how often good booze and a meaningful meeting go hand in hand...or perhaps that's just me," Yuuko replied, taking another sip from her cocktail. The taste sparked her tongue and she enjoyed it...yes she would definitely have to come back to this place in the future. "Ooh, so that's it's name...I don't believe I've ever had one of those," this was saying something coming from Yuuko considering how much she DID drink. "A very interesting name for a drink...I don't suppose you can name its ingredients," her tone was hinting at a challenge and she wondered if he would accept.
no subject
"Few people have," he continued. "It's not commonly known." It seemed as though Yuuko enjoyed a good game as much as he did, and he rose to the challenge. "Cinnamon Schnapps and Vodka Citron. For its simplicity, it has an excellent flavor."
no subject
She finally finished off her drink and made a sound of satisfaction as she set the glass down, "Delicious!" The woman clasped her hands together with a smile and then turned to 'Tobias.' "So, you seem to know a little about this place or at the very least it's drinking establishments, how long have you been here," Yuuko inquired.
no subject
"I've been here a good while," came a simple and rather vague reply to the question. "I'd be more specific, but I'm afraid I'm just terrible at keeping track of time." It was an outright lie, but it wasn't as though Yuuko knew it, or needed to know.
no subject
Of course it didn't hurt that Tobias continued to provide her with drinks.
"I tend to have the same trouble with time," she waved her hand, "it's all relative anyway according to some scientist or other...and really time is a funny little thing anyway so what does it matter." Yuuko took a drink.
no subject
"That it is," he agreed mildly, sipping his drink. "Funny how it seems to run so slow at times, and then speeds up faster than can be caught." He'd know all about that, as a good number of the mentioned fluctuations were his doing, but there was no reason to admit that.
no subject
"You certainly seem to know a lot about it," Yuuko mused on his reply to the concept of time, "it's funny how it can go all loopy on you sometimes too...but it is an easily malleable thing if you know how to handle it properly."
no subject
"Is it really now." He raised an eyebrow at her last comment on time. "Are you saying that time can be bent?" He'd be interested to hear her answer to this one.
no subject
She laughed suddenly and took another sip, "I have to have a lot more booze if you want me to explain this deary~"
no subject
So he laughed. "Sorry, I've nearly reached my limit for drinks, and I do hate to leave a lady drinking alone. Maybe we could do this another time?"

With those words and a smile (fake, like all of them were, but convincing nonetheless), he turned and made his way to the door. He had places to go and, more importantly, people to see.
