May I See Your Ticket, Please? [Active]

Character(s): Ahnassi and Luxord
Content: Ahnassi gets caught sneaking out of the opera house
Setting: Ceu de Mouraria
Time: Evening
Warnings: None

It was so very, VERY beautiful. Ahnassi had never been to any sort of concert or musical event, but she had heard of such things in larger cities. Even then, she had never heard of such a magnificent opera house for the sole purpose of musical entertainment. As much as she had enjoyed the music, she had found herself just as fascinated with the surroundings inside the huge glass dome of Ceu de Mouraria.

It was an incredible building, like she would have expected to find in the Imperial City in Cyrodiil. Ever since she had first laid eyes on it, she knew she would have to find out what it was like inside and what it was like to listen to the music in there. Of course, being the thief she was, Ahnassi had circumvented the ticket lines and just slipped in a back entrance while nobody was looking. It had been very exciting and a little bit scary, but well worth the effort. The Khajiit thought she might even try to do it again sometime...

Now, though, the performance was over, and she was headed back out the way she had come. Checking around to make sure nobody was looking, she crept towards the staff exit and slipped outside. It looked like she had made a clean getaway...

Bored with the latest journal chatter, Luxord had once again found himself with little better to do than wander the city. Aimless walking led him to the opera house, just in time to catch the final swell of music. He paused a moment to let it fade - IX would enjoy this more than he - and was turning to leave down a side street when he noticed someone sneaking out the back door, looking as guilty as the child caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar.

Well, this was too good to pass up. Luxord moved closer, smirking. "Enjoy the show?"

"That it does indeed," Luxord agreed smoothly, idly playing with a card pulled from goodness-knew-where in his hand. "There seem to be precious few skilled at games, however, especially in the art of bluffing." He let a lazy smirk creep up his face, allowing the woman before him to interpret the words however she liked.

"Not exactly," Luxord corrected her smoothly. "Bluffing, as in projecting an image that is untrue. Giving false impressions." Though he was curious about her comment on games of chance, he'd prefer to attend to the matter at hand first (even though the matter at hand was only for his personal satisfaction).

"May I see your ticket?"

"No, thank you," Luxord politely turned down the woman's offer. "I wasn't interested in the show itself, but the theater's new policy. I was unaware they had begun to sell tickets for the back entrance, and I wished to see one." The lines, falsely interested, had been delivered smoothly. This particular game had become less of a quest to embarass the woman for her free show and more to discover just how well she could weave her web of little white lies. She intrigued Luxord. He'd keep playing.

"Not to leave, but to enter," Luxord clarified simply. "I suppose what I'm asking is, may I see your ticket?"

There. Cards on the table. Her reaction would either make or break this game. Either way, Luxord would find it highly satisfying.

Luxord simply let her go. She was an interesting one, that was for certain. She knew how to act, she played well...yes, he would certainly keep an eye on her. She may prove to be amusing - even useful - in the future.

"Well played," he commented lightly to her departing back.
