Meeting of the Minds [active/backlogged]

Character(s): Sephiroth, Laharl
Content: Backlogged plotting
Setting: Laharl's hotel, prior to the Resistance thread (and thus, Zexion's surveillance)
Time: Dead of the night
Warnings: Sephiroth. Laharl. Cursing. Plotting. You get the idea.

Meeting with the demon overlord, Laharl, in the dead of night was, perhaps, just a bit cliche, but it served its purpose. Any relatively sane person would be fast asleep by now - as, indeed, the majority of the city was.

Sephiroth had come alone, and though he bore no weapons openly, he did have a gift for Laharl. One that could, perhaps, help his friend. But that was far from the purpose of their meeting.

No. This was to be a council of war.

It might've been cliche, but it worked well enough to Laharl. He prefered the night really, and even at this time he wide awake. The Overlord stayed up late a lot usually, although he had a heck of a lot less to do here, so he might as well have been asleep.

Laharl had arranged to meet here as it was close enough that he wouldn't worry his vassals, who lay asleep in their room, getting all stupidly worried or anything. He didn't need them tagging along for this.

So he'd slipped from the room and down into the darkened lobby where he then sat in the back corner waiting for this "Sephiroth".

As soon as Sephiroth had approached him, Laharl sat up a bit straighter, though did nothing to help his lack of height and standing wouldn't have done much either. The silver-haired man was tall, and Laharl felt how towered over he was, but it didn't daunt him by any means. The Overlord merely, folded his arms over his chest, looking all business as he nodded, "That's right."

Laharl didn't know a whole lot about Sephiroth really, but he had been one of the few to speak to him with much respect. He appreciated that. The Overlord could also definitely tell the human before him wasn't any normal human. He seemed like one who'd be strong and had the brains to match, which is more than he could say about Gordon. Jennifer had been more useful in that sense, if not for her damn body...

"Huh..?--Oh, Flonne. Yeah, she's doing better now," he replied, having gotten lost for a moment there. Flonne had been a lot better now as luckily the items Adell had brought had done the trick.

Laharl blinked at the box he was handed, accepting it. Curious of the contents, he gave a vague glance around to make sure they had no watchers, before lifting the lid a moment. Orbs. ...What? He pulled one out as he listened to the description, holding it in his palm. He could sense the spells in the orb. It was like having one of his mage or cleric pupils standing nearby. Spells he didn't know he could pull from them within close proximity if they concentrated and cast himself. He didn't use magic much, much less healing spells, but he recognized the spells, even if the names and chants were different, usually what spells did was the same.

Tucking the orb back into the box, he closed it, passing it to his scarf, which shifted over the box then pulled away. The small box was gone.

Meanwhile Laharl listened carefully, a thoughtful expression on his face. It didn't take long for him to come to a decision at all. "Hmm, right, well just to set this straight, demons don't help out and don't like "team work" much or anything like that," he started as he crossed his arms once more, pausing briefly, "But... if by confronting Larxene and the rest of that damn Organization, you mean kicking their asses, then you can count me in."

Even the Overlord had come to slightly understand that sometimes, maybe, a team effort could get things done. If joining forces with other people here would mean a chance at revenge on his tormentors, not to mention better the chances of finding a way back to the Netherworld, then even he supposed he could put up with it.

"As for the meeting... I'll be there," Laharl added, figuring Etna and Flonne would most likely follow. In fact, it was pretty much a given.
