Meeting of the Minds [active/backlogged]
Character(s): Sephiroth, Laharl
Content: Backlogged plotting
Setting: Laharl's hotel, prior to the Resistance thread (and thus, Zexion's surveillance)
Time: Dead of the night
Warnings: Sephiroth. Laharl. Cursing. Plotting. You get the idea.
Meeting with the demon overlord, Laharl, in the dead of night was, perhaps, just a bit cliche, but it served its purpose. Any relatively sane person would be fast asleep by now - as, indeed, the majority of the city was.
Sephiroth had come alone, and though he bore no weapons openly, he did have a gift for Laharl. One that could, perhaps, help his friend. But that was far from the purpose of their meeting.
No. This was to be a council of war.

Laharl had arranged to meet here as it was close enough that he wouldn't worry his vassals, who lay asleep in their room, getting all stupidly worried or anything. He didn't need them tagging along for this.
So he'd slipped from the room and down into the darkened lobby where he then sat in the back corner waiting for this "Sephiroth".

"Lord Laharl, I presume?" he asked, veritably towering over the diminutive Overlord. He spoke with respect, despite that fact; if what he had heard was true, he didn't want to face this guy in a fight, well, -ever-. "Is your friend well?" he asked, taking a seat to put himself on more even footing.

Laharl didn't know a whole lot about Sephiroth really, but he had been one of the few to speak to him with much respect. He appreciated that. The Overlord could also definitely tell the human before him wasn't any normal human. He seemed like one who'd be strong and had the brains to match, which is more than he could say about Gordon. Jennifer had been more useful in that sense, if not for her damn body...
"Huh..?--Oh, Flonne. Yeah, she's doing better now," he replied, having gotten lost for a moment there. Flonne had been a lot better now as luckily the items Adell had brought had done the trick.

That was pretty much it for the pleasantries. "My sources tell me that you and I have similar thorns in our sides. Among them are the woman, Larxene, and the organization she represents. How would you feel about an alliance, to better confront those people and their assets?"
Sitting back, he folded his arms comfortably. "That decision is yours, but I have certain information which I intend to pass on to as many trustworthy people as possible. Whether you wish to join forces or not, there is going to be a gathering of sorts in three days, here." Sephiroth took out his journal and pointed to the appropriate location, an apparently abandoned warehouse. "With any luck, this meeting will allow everyone involved to share information, and hopefully give some insight into this... 'Organization XIII'."

Tucking the orb back into the box, he closed it, passing it to his scarf, which shifted over the box then pulled away. The small box was gone.
Meanwhile Laharl listened carefully, a thoughtful expression on his face. It didn't take long for him to come to a decision at all. "Hmm, right, well just to set this straight, demons don't help out and don't like "team work" much or anything like that," he started as he crossed his arms once more, pausing briefly, "But... if by confronting Larxene and the rest of that damn Organization, you mean kicking their asses, then you can count me in."
Even the Overlord had come to slightly understand that sometimes, maybe, a team effort could get things done. If joining forces with other people here would mean a chance at revenge on his tormentors, not to mention better the chances of finding a way back to the Netherworld, then even he supposed he could put up with it.
"As for the meeting... I'll be there," Laharl added, figuring Etna and Flonne would most likely follow. In fact, it was pretty much a given.

Standing, he offered the diminutive Overlord a respectful bow. "I think that was everything. I'll see you at the meeting. If you need help, let me know."
And with that, he turned and was gone.
