Meeting Again [Active]
Character(s): Laharl and Rosette
Content: The two have a small conversation sometime just after the resistance meeting.
Setting: \O_o/
Time: Night
Warnings: None presently.
When the meeting wrapped up and people started to talk to eachother, Laharl couldn't help but notice the girl who'd been in the cell next to him who'd helped him... Rosette.
She caught his gaze, and he found himself glancing to a quiet corner then back to her, questionly. He felt like he wanted to talk to her. Seeming to get an agreement, he turned to Flonne telling her he'd just be in the corner, and so she could do whatever. Talk to people or something.
That done, he left Flonne's side, moving to the corner and stood there, arms as always folded against his chest, waiting for Rosette to come over. When she was close enough Laharl started to speak.
"...Hey."
Well, that was a great start. It felt kinda strange and awkward, but, well, anyways. He now had a better chance to look at her. Everything was kind of fuzzy after all. She seemed alright, all things considered. He'd had no idea what they'd done to her, although could certainly guess it was similar to his treatment.

She caught his gaze and nodded when he gestured to the corner. "I'll be right over there," she told Chrno quietly, putting a hand lightly on his shoulder (that had been for her benefit as much as his - there was no way she was letting him out of her sight, not with rumors of disappearances and the Organization everywhere) before heading to meet Laharl.
"Hey," she replied quietly, leaning against the wall and finally getting a good look at him. He looked better than she felt (which wasn't saying much, considering how she was feeling), and it looked like his arm was completely fine. Part of her knew she should probably be shocked by that, and the rest of her very much was not. After all, who knew what could happen in this city?
"Nice to see you on your feet." Just as awkward as the greeting had been, but at least it filled the gap in the conversation.

"Oh... yeah, Flonne's magic fixed me right up," he replied, after a moment's pause.
There was another long stretch of silence as he tried to figure out what to say, well, other than what he'd been thinking about saying in the first place. Nothing seemed to be coming to mind though. Damnit. Well, might as well cut to the chase.
"O-Oi... look, I... I just wanted to say... not that I make a habit of it but," he paused a moment before finishing what he was saying, his voice going quieter and almost slightly softer. "...Thanks, for helping me out back... there."
no subject
She stayed quiet as Laharl started to speak again - it was obvious from his hesitation that he was having a tough time trying to say whatever it was he wanted to tell her. "I...didn't really do anything..." she replied quietly, looking down, almost embarassed. She'd just wrapped his arm - she hated seeing anyone hurt, especially a kid, and...she couldn't explain it, she just didn't want him to be hurt, not in that situation.
"But..." She hesitated, then reached over and gently laid her hand on his shoulder, managing a tiny smile - they were both doing better, at least. That was something. "You're welcome."
no subject
If she was embarrased, imagine him? Admitting someone had helped him at all was hard enough for him, but the fact of the matter was, she had kind of helped during a really... bad moment for him. He'd never felt so... helpless and... emotionally exposed. She'd unintentionally helped him pull himself somewhat together again, not to mention the whole helping him to stop bleeding thing.
"Mn..." was his only reply, as he looked away kind of embarrased but had briefly managed a twitch of a smile before the apparent uncomfortable-ness had set in.
no subject
She'd looked back in time to see the smile, though. It sure hadn't lasted long, but it had been there, and that was enough. He looked embarassed now, though, so she took her hand off his shoulder. He said he didn't thank people often, and he probably smiled even less...well. She wouldn't tell anybody if he wouldn't. It sure wouldn't stop her from smiling, though.
"So," she said lightly after a few seconds of silence, trying to dispel the apparent uncomfortableness that seemed to have settled over Laharl. "Overlord, huh?"
no subject
"Supreme Overlord of the Netherworld, to be exact," he added.
no subject
"Supreme Overlord," she repeated with an air of surprise. "Well I'm sorry, Your Majesty, I had no idea I was talking to royalty." She was ribbing him, sure, but it was with a smile.

((oops... short tag. Oh well? :x))

Grumbling when he'd gotten away from her hand, he attempted to smooth his blue locks back down with his hand. "Whatever..." he mumbled grumpily in reply.
no subject
"Oh, come on," she grinned as he tried to smooth down his hair. "What part of 'lighten up' didn't you get?" And with that she made a grab for him with every intent to noogie him should she be successful.

"L-LET ME GO!"

Until Laharl started slowing down, that was. Either something was wrong, or he was waiting for her to let down her guard so he could break out. Either way, she wasn't taking chances - she pulled him closer, tightening her grip around him, and looked down at him. "Hey, are you feeling okay?"
no subject
"O-obviously not! Let. Me. GO!" Laharl hissed sounding extreme pissed off now and woozy.
no subject
She let go of him and moved a step back, putting a hand on his shoulder and bending down to be at eye level with him. "What happened?"
no subject
After a moment of groaning, he glanced over his shoulder at her, "Never do that, ever again, ever, damnit. You.. you keep a three foot radius from me, got it?"
no subject
She couldn't say she was entirely happy with it, either. What was his problem? She just wanted to know what was wrong, jeez.
"Oh really." She stalked up behind him, hands on her hips, more than a little irked. "What's your problem, kid? You allergic to noogies or something?"
no subject
"L-look... don't tell ANYONE THIS..." he started, pausing to glance around and make sure no one was in earshot. The LAST thing he needed was for this to become public knowledge.
"I-I can't stand sexy women bodies," Laharl muttered hesitantly, looking away again, still looking extremely uncomfortable. Yes, while Rosette wasn't exactly sexy, she had enough curves that Laharl's weakness had been triggered. "Flatchests like Flonne and Etna are fine, but... you're not flat."
It was a good thing his vassals weren't paying attention, or he would have just got yelled at, but they weren't so it was all good.
no subject
She blinked, foul mood lessened slightly at the prospect of Laharl sharing a secret. "Okay..."
...she hadn't been expecting that.
No way he had a weakness like that. That was ridiculous. But he'd started looking sick when she- and he- was he calling her-
Had Rosette had a little more energy or been a little less shell shocked, she might have flipped out completely. As it was, she was tired, and this was definitely not the sort of thing one heard every day. Her only reaction was to stare at Laharl in wide-eyed openmouthed disbelief.
"...you've got to be kidding me."
no subject
"Oi, I'm serious, damnit!" Laharl hissed, glaring for a moment before looking away again to hide the vague signs of rosiness across his cheeks. This never ceased to be embarrassing. It was an annoying weakness he really could do without.
