Where's the phone shop? [Completed]
Character(s): Vincent Valentine, Rose Tyler, anyone else?
Content: Mr. Valentine arrives in Paixao.
Setting: Muspelheim
Time: Afternoon
Warnings: None?
Vincent awoke from a slumber he did not remember falling into and it immediately alarmed him. The last thing he remembered doing was sitting on the bed in the hotel room - listening to the news and watching the carnival outside. If he had dozed off he would have remembered it and that glass of wine had mostly been left untouched. So what was the cause?
When he opened his eyes the sight that greeted him was a peculiar one; gates composed out of golden flames. He couldn't say he had seen anything like it before in his travels, at least not without the gates completely burning down. He was quick to position himself into a crouch, his hand resting on his holster as he swiftly assessed his situation. Finding no immediate threat - there was only a line of people at the gate - he stood up and apparently not having much of a different option, joined the cue.
So now here he was in a strange domed city that had a sky painted on it, standing in a line of people who were all blond and made him stand out more than ever. One could say Vincent was not all too pleased. It took a while for the man behind the booth to pry Vincent's name out of him but eventually he succeeded and Vincent was ushered into the city with a journal in his hand. Oh joy, more technology. He would've stuck to his phone if he had it on him but apparently it got left behind when he was brought here.

She looked up in the passing people entering in. She was use to seeing strange sorts, of course, with all her traveling through time and space. How could she not? It'd probably offend the Doctor if it turned out she had forgotten.
She could never forget, though.
Now, for whatever reason, it was the more humanoid-like ones that caught her eyes (she was never sure if they were actually human); she wasn't sure what it was that drew her eyes, maybe it was the dress, but she found herself blatantly staring at the man, phone still loosely in hand.
Well, way not to be obvious.

So, first things first; find a phone shop or something of the like. He'd rather use a phone, an equipment which he was familiar with, than the journal they had given him which would probably require time to figure out, time he didn't have. He set about doing just that until he caught someone staring at him from the corner of his eyes. Nothing new, the people back in the line had stared at him but this one looked different from those. He paused in his step and raised an eyebrow at her, noticing she was actually holding a phone.

She gazed down at her phone again, even it having gone through the previous Doctor's jiggery-pokery seemed to leave it with little reception. The strange thing was that she hadn't noticed anyone else with a phone; she was use to London at least, where she could turn her head and pick out a handful of people laughing up a conversation over them. Here? No... And the only people who seemed to have something to laugh about was the citizens. Rose sorta blended in with them, she realized. Maybe that would be good or bad for her, she didn't really know.
She waved her hand with the phone at the man, a silent greeting. At least he didn't look as bad as she did when she had entered the city.

He would have liked to kept the silent conversation up, he was better at those, but he realized that he would have to speak up if he wanted to get the information he needed. So he approached her, noticing she had been crying but keeping the small smile in mind from before he figured she was alright now. "Do you know where the phone shop is?" He asked as he made a small gesture at the phone she was holding.

She swallowed. Stay in the present. She'd be alright again, soon. She couldn't help keeping an ear out for the TARDIS, hoping so much to hear it again sooner rather than later.
She blinked when he approached her, and then glanced around a bit. Well, she hadn't noticed a phone shop when she glanced at the map... She chewed the inside of her lip lightly, suddenly pocketing her phone. "Well, actually... I don't know if there is one. But I jus' got here, too, so I don't really know much of this place. I haven'... seen anyone else with a phone... None of the locals..." She frowned and patted her pocket. "I came in with mine. It doesn' work very well, when it normally should."
She glanced up at the unusual domes. "I think those are messing with the signal or something. But the journals work fine..." Didn't make much sense to her, really.
no subject
"Do you know how we got here?" Vincent just couldn't figure it out. Had someone taken him here? For what purpose? If someone had, he was pretty certain he would've noticed it one way or another. So how the hell did he get here?
no subject
"I'm sorry, I really don't..." she sighed. "I have a friend that's supposed to be on his way here at some point." The TARDIS was probably being moody. "He's been here a bit longer, so he should be able to answer some stuff about this... place. I know it's called Paixao, that's a bit here. I just sort of appeared here..."
no subject
The man behind the booth had referred to here as 'Paixao' too and Vincent was pretty sure such a place did not exist on The Planet. After all, he had traveled around the entire world so he knew. It seemed that the best option for now was wait for the girl's friend to get some answers.
no subject
This other person was working as a good distraction, she thought. Vaguely she hoped that he didn't feel used.
"Paixao... uh... Portuguese for 'passion'..." she rambled off the Doctor's same rambling to her, as if looking for a way to anchor this new person and keeping him from leaving Rose to her unresolved emotions; a stranger who she suddenly realized she didn't even know his name. "I'm Rose," she added quickly.
There could have quite possibly been a glimmer of desperation in her brown eyes. ...She didn't want to be alone right now, even if the company was a complete stranger. God, why did that who... incident have to make her so insecure?
no subject
"Portuguese?" He tilted his head at unfamiliar word. Presumably it was a language but the girl - Rose - wasn't making much sense to him. For a moment he considered not telling his name but she already seemed skittish enough, no point in making her even more uncertain.
"Vincent."
no subject
"Ah... it's a language where I'm from, among others," she loosely explained. "I'm not really surprised you don't know it, actually. You aren't missin' much. It isn't all that special."
Vincent. She nodded to the name, not saying much more on it. She could almost call this situation awkward, but it was a better choice than her recent ones. She sighed a bit, glanced at the ground, then back up at the domes. "This city is... strange." She said after a bit.
no subject
He made a sound of agreement at Rose's comment on the city as he observed their surroundings some more. It was very unlike where he came from, especially when compared to Midgar. This city was rich and clean with no Mako reactor in sight. The strangest thing, Vincent thought, was the population. Not only were they all blond and blue-eyed, they were also young. Where had all the elderly gone? Their behavior also seemed...off, almost as if they lacked actual feelings.
no subject
She wondered if the Doctor had noticed this at all. His mind was good at wandered... and sometimes not quite picking up what was right in front of him. Like when she first met with his other self. Heh.
Her eyes watered slightly and she sniffed, putting a hand up to her face and turning away. God. This was terrible. "I...I'm sure you must have other things to get done." Because really Rose, someone who just came into a city that they've never been to and never meant to come to is already going to have an agenda.
Perfectly logical.
But she suddenly felt like distancing herself. She didn't want a complete stranger to see her like this...
no subject
"Are you alright?" He asked, for the decency of things. Perhaps it was suddenly finding yourself in a different world that was upsetting her so but he didn't know her circumstances and it was none of his business. She had a friend coming who could take care of her, he wasn't needed here.
no subject
Finding herself in this world... it isn't what bothered her. Nothing should be bothering her. Just little tiny things, and a lot of them. She supposed that such would drive any female up the wall.
"I... I'm fine," she managed, but still hadn't turned back towards him. She rung the ends up her sleeves, hands fiddling around each other to occupy themselves.

When he was lost within the crowd of people, she wandered back to the bench she had started in and sat down, laying her head in her hands and waiting, keeping herself together.
