Unexpected Confession Aftermath [Complete]
Characters: Laharl and Flonne
Content: After the crazy messageboard events and stuff. :o
Setting: Their hotel room.
Time: Evening?
Warnings: Fluff warning? XD;;;
Why had he let himself get sucked into that whole thing? Why hadn't he just ignored Mid-Boss? All this could have been avoided if he had. Yet, here he was sitting here on the bed beside Flonne looking stunned at everything that had just happened.
Damn Mid-Boss... damn him to hell.
Love. Why did it always damn well come back to love?
Ever since he'd been kidnapped, his mind had been in turmoil. His parents, Etna, Flonne... them and his feelings about them had been on his mind a lot, Flonne especially after recent events. He'd been so worried about her. More than he'd ever felt before. Everything had been feeling all the more intense lately... ever since Flonne had gotten sick. Could it be the water that had effected her and everyone be the cause of it? He wasn't sure if it could be or not, and even if it was, what could he do now? It had seemed to improve recently though.
He'd also felt terribly guilty for allowing her to get hurt. No matter how much he was told it wasn't his fault, he still had hated that she'd been wounded like that right in front of him, and he'd been powerless to stop it. He'd failed to stop it in time. He didn't want anyone to hurt her. ...Which was love, apparently.
Nearly giving up his life for her had apparently also had been love.
That stupid feeling that sometimes bubbled up inside him when he thought of her. Love.
It was a revelation he was unprepared to handle.
The notion that he could possibly love her was high on his denial list, but his hand had been forced. He'd been forced to look at his feelings, and he was confused at what he'd found. That feeling deep inside... it was love?
Damn Mid-Boss!
He did it. He couldn't believe he'd done it, but he had. Laharl had admitted that maybe he was feeling love for her. From there people stopped reacting like the post made by Death was true, which was damn good. But more to the point, it wasn't Mid-Boss who'd told Flonne. Laharl didn't even want to begin to think what Mid-Boss would have said to her if he hadn't.
Still, he was more than a little uncertain of what to do now as he glanced to Flonne for a moment out of the corner of his eye before turning it away again when he felt his face heat up.
(ooc: Version 1... might twiddle more when I'm not half asleep lol.)

But she certainly wasn't complaining.
Surprise out of the way, she pushed the small pillow she'd been curled around over her shoulder and off the bed, then scooted across the bed and slid her arms around Laharl, pulling the two of them into a hug and nestling her head into his chest. She closed her eyes, sighing happily. She was relaxed, she was safe, and she was happy, happier than she'd been in a while.

He stiffened a little as it had surprised surprised him a bit. After an awkward moment Laharl sighed quietly. He was tired... too tired to complain. Ivan probably wouldn't say anything... Etna on the other hand... ... ... Oh well. What the hell ever. He'd deal with that somehow.
Laharl soon relaxed a bit, and hesitantly settled his arm over her, pulling the blanket a little higher... Maybe if they were lucky the other two wouldn't notice... or something. It made sense somehow to his sleepy mind.
With a slight yawn, he closed his eyes and soon drifted off.
