Most Certainly Not Gaia... [active]
Character(s): Cid Highwind, and anyone else who happens by
Content: Obligatory gate post, plus gratuitous swearing
Setting: Niflhiem Gate
Time: mid-morning
Warnings: Cid swears. A lot.
Most people's reaction to finding themselves waking up in a place that was most definitely not where they had gone to sleep would be to wonder if it wasn't all just some strange dream. These people were not Cid. Cid's reaction to waking up in a place was far simpler and far more emphatic as a stream of profanity split the air.
"Goddammit, Shera, I've told you before..." The sentence cut off abruptly as he finally realized that this was absolutely nowhere that he'd ever seen before. And considering that he'd traveled across the majority of the world during that mad dash after Sephiroth two years earlier that was saying something. And he was pretty sure he'd have remembered a city like this - all built under domes. Almost reminded him of Midgar, except for the lines. Ain't nobody who'd line up to get into Midgar of their own will, he thought to himself. Or at least not without a damned good reason.
Nothing in there for him, though. No skies under those domes, that was damned sure. Still, he couldn't help but wonder just what was drawing all these people into the city. Wasn't the sky, so what was it? He sighed as he realized that the only way to now for sure would
be to go in himself. "Can't believe I'm doing this," he mumbled to himself as he headed to join the line. Whatever was on the other side of that gate had better be worth the trouble.
Unfortunately, the city itself was scarcely worth the wait, in his opinion - an opinion he made quite clear as a stream of profanity shattered the early morning air.
