Time to do Doctor-ish Stuff [Active]
Character(s): The Doctor and Kit Fisto
Content: The Doctor makes a trip to the TARDIS to analyze a sample.
Setting: Inside the TARDIS near Niflheim gate
Time: Late afternoon
Warnings:Crappy titles! Yes, I fail at titles, shush. None /o/
After making sure Chrno and Rosette made it safely to the hotel the Doctor had quickly wanted to return to the TARDIS and see what the computer could make of the sample he'd grabbed, not to mention he rather wanted to check on the TARDIS in general. It had been on low power when he'd left it, but he hoped now it had been able to regenerate some power, although from what he'd been reading on journals, no one seemed to have found a way to leave. Would that mean even the TARDIS couldn't? That would be a problem if it was so, not that he had a reason yet to leave, but, well, he'd get to that hurdle when he reached it he supposed.
Rosette's rescuer, Kit, had seemed interested to come along, so the Doctor welcomed the company, and led the way back to near the Niflheim gate where he'd left his ship.
"Now, let's see," the Doctor spoke aloud, "Which alleyway was it. There's so many around here and they all look the same. I should have--oh wait! That was it."
What he should have done would remain forever a mystery as he ducked into an empty alleyway that was apparently "it". The Doctor happily started digging into his coat pocket as he approached the large object sitting almost ominously in the middle of the dark alley.
It was a box. A large, dark blue box with the words "POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX" on a sign near the top that glowed in the dark. Light also glowed softly behind frosted windows and from the light on the top.

The grin widened a little. "Just a bit. I imagine this throws a few people off, now and then?" In all honesty, that sort of thing would be useful in any number of situations.

"In fact, I'd go as far as to say all the time," the Doctor corrected after a pause, before turning the lock and pulling the key back out as the door swung in. "Funny that."
Yes, if he had a penny for everytime someone looked disbelievingly at the TARDIS being a ship, he'd, well, have a lot of pennies he wouldn't know what to do with. Shoving the key back into his coat pocket, the Doctor stood back from the door. "There we go. After you?" he offered, with a gesture.
"Oh, and watch your step, it's a bit dark in there running on low power and all that," the Doctor added.

The Jedi stretched, after a few steps further in, pleasantly surprised at the space of the thing. "I'm sure this throws everyone off, as well. Very nice." He paused, considering the ship and its contents, and shrugged. "So; about that sample...?"

Rubbing his face a moment the Timelord stared at the screen then glanced to Kit, "The Analysis is inconclusive. It's no known substance in the universe."
He popped the vial back out from the console, looking at the darkness shifting about inside. "So all we know is... it's black," he said in disdain. He'd have hoped to have at least found out something.
Then suddenly came a ringing from the console. The Doctor turned staring at the console for a moment. That was... but... who... how...? Another ring jerked him from his daze and he rushed around the console grabbing the phone receiver from the console, the Doctor hesitantly lifted it to his ear, speechless for a moment before managing a quiet and confused, "Hello...?"
((Thus insert here this (http://community.livejournal.com/paixaorpg/311830.html). ^.^; He's pretty much off in his own world lol XD After Rose's last pose there he hangs up the phone. XD))

He fell silent when the phone rang, content to wait and to try not to listen---judging by the Doctor's emotional state, this was strictly personal.

"Ah, sorry about that, turns out a friend just got in town," the Doctor said as he worked, managing to grin briefly at Kit. "She's on the other side of the city, need to see if I can get the TARDIS--Oh wait..."
The Doctor paused, hovering a finger over a button, his mouth open wide in an expectant expression. He then climatically pushed the button in and grinned widely as the sound of power coming back full was heard and the console room lit up.
"YES! Now we're in business!" he cried excitedly, practically prancing around the console, flicking more switches. "If it's alright with you, I'm going to drop you over at the hotel while I go get Rose."
With one last switch, the large colum in the middle suddenly came to life, moving up and down with a loud 'vworp, vworp'.
"If that's alright?--Wait, right, sorry, you were saying a negation... hmm..." the Timelord said, suddenly as his line of though slid to a stop and one-eightied right back to where they'd started before the phonecall.

The amused gleam in Kit's eyes faded away for the most part, and he nodded, serious again as quickly as suited the topic. "A negation, yes. Cold, empty, unwholesome, whatever else one might want to call it... Nothing is quite accurate, but between the terms, you get an idea of the impression."

The Doctor both did and didn't enjoy being clueless. The excitement of something new he hadn't seen before was always a welcome change, but in a situation like this was one of those times he truly did not like being in this position. Something was done to Rosette, and he had no idea what... BUT, he'd soon find out if he had anything to say about it. Which he did.
Looking back at the console, he began moving switches as he checked their position-since, though it didn't feel like it, they had indeed been moving.
It wasn't long before the Doctor looked up, "Right, almost there-" He was cut off as it was soon apparent they had been moving, as the TARDIS suddenly jerked roughly, the Doctor grabbing onto the console to keep on his feet.
However that was it, it seemed to have stopped. "Ah, sorry about that..." the Doctor apologized quickly, "Not used to flying like this. Really do need to practice these landings, however this should be your stop. We should, in theory, but just outside the hotel now."
