Hungry? [ Closed. ]

Character(s); Hakkai, Selphie.
Content; Hakkai's still looking for the others, and Selphie wants pastries.
Setting; In and around Por Favore's.
Time; Saturday, in the evening.
Warnings; Selphie's too hyper. None.

After having repaid his debt to Yuuko by carrying books, Hakkai resumed his search for his friends. It seemed like things were starting to look up, too; already, he knew that Sanzo had also been pulled into this world, and just the other day, someone had offered to help him search.

As night approached, he realized that yet again he had no place to stay... not to mention, he hadn't eaten all day. A quick look at his map told him that he was coming across a restaurant. It was getting dark, and he had been on his feet for quite some time now. This would have to do. Of course, he still didn't have any money, but he was more than willing to work for his share. If he was lucky - and, after what had happened, he was starting to think that he was - they would let him wash dishes, or something like that.

Happy that he was finally out of the cold, Hakkai stepped inside the restaurant and looked around. It was a nice, cozy-looking place. Doubtless it was run by a family, or close friends even. As he stood by the door "thawing" (could you blame him?), he thought to himself that he might even be able to ask them about Sanzo, Goku and Gojyo's whereabouts... or not. He was just pushing his luck now.

Boring! That's all that the Actua Are was after fully exploring the place for the better part of two days. There were parts of the hotel that were no longer in use so the brunette had to be extremely careful in mucking about in the building's condemned areas. The staff had let her however, and paid her quite handsomely for dealing with a pair of rather large rats after having been given a meat cleaver, broom and dustpan.

Okay, so handsomely wasn't exactly what Selphie thought of the payment but she had pretty much stayed in that hotel for about three and a half days. She'd let them take her fee out of the payment and took the rest which wasn't a lot but it was enough for a decent meal, or maybe a danish or two. The food in the diner there was all good and dandy but really, a little home cooking was good for the soul! Selphie left the building in high spirits before setting off on her way toward what would hopefully be new and exciting!

She had followed the winding path that lead throughout Paixao with an impulsive air about her. Selphie didn't care where she went just as long as there something new to do. Maybe she could get a job and make some money and figure out why they were all brought to this strange place. There was a slight wind blowing through the fake greenery but it felt nice against the brunette's skin. Thanks to her recently acquired clothing however, she wasn't treated like pond scum on the bottom of someone's shoe to which she was grateful.

Eventually though, Selphie's stomach began to grumble in protest of not being fed for the past several hours. She had to admit that she had dwindled from the path and went exploring throughout the rolling hills, hoping to see some type of animal but she wasn't all that surprised when she didn't find any. Animals can't eat what isn't there after all.

She walked at a leisurely pace before coming upon the door of a restaurant and opened it up. In her own little world as usual, Selphie didn't realize when she'd bumped into a person standing in front of the door. They were freezing to the touch as the brunette pressed herself against the door, arms wrapping around herself as she shivered. It was colder out than she'd realized.

"S-sorry about bumping into you," she apologized through chattering teeth.

Quite the impression to make there Selphie, she thought to herself angrily.

"I agree!" Selphie replied with a smile as she walked directly underneath his arms. That was definitely an advantage so short but the brunette didn't wish to entertain the notion of being used as a leaning post. She looked back at the tall man with a monocle, head band and...really cool clothes in her opinion and nodded.

"It's okay," she replied. "Accidents happen and I'm pretty clumsy so, no worries!"

It was true accidents did happen. But as her trail of though went from bumping into this person to why they were standing by the door trying to warm up when it would be constantly swinging open and closed well... it just didn't make any sense to Selphie.

"Y'know... I bet it's warmer inside this place so we could go find a seat next to a heating vent and sit there right?"

Perhaps an introduction was in order as she walked past him, scanning the room for a table and spotted one near the back. It was rude to just keep talking like this and not know each other's name. The brunette liked to know the names of the people that she met in case she ever had the chance of running into them again.

"My name is Selphie Tilmitt," she said holding out her hand for a handshake. "It's nice to meet you!"

Hesitant described Hakkai to a tee at the moment but Selphie was used to dealing with shy people. The perky brunette knew that shy people opened up once you got to know them better and would just let the conversation flow like that.

She allowed herself to be lead through the hall toward a table. She smiled as Hakkai pulled out a chair for her and settled herself after he pushed it in for her. "Thank you Hakkai," she replied cheerfully.

When she heard that he was leaving to look for work to pay for a meal, Selphie thought of something. "What if I bought you something to eat?" she asked with a smile.

"But what if I'm offering?" Selphie interjected. It wasn't in her to let a person starve, considering that this one was nothing more than skin and bones to begin with. If Matron were here and this were any one of them, they'd be glued to their chairs and stuffed full of the best home cookin' she'd ever had.

(let's get this one done! :D)

"Think nothing of it," Selphie replied. "I'm not about to let anybody starve under my eye! Besides," she continued, picking up a fork and pointing it at Hakkai, "You're nothing but skin and bones anyway! Eat!"

Future mother of the world, Selphie? Of course not.

(whoo!)

Women were stubborn because guys like Hakkai, guys who were appeared to be nothing more than a mystery, just insisted on existing. But Selphie liked him, thought he could definitely be a friend in this strange place. It was...comforting to know that there were people like him here in a fake place such as this.

Now onto his question. "Yes, I'm not from this place either. I'm from a world with a sorceresses," the way she was about to explain this Selphie noted was about to sound like something out a children's fairytale book, "Where Knight's vow to protect them and people called SeeD's would go to stop the Sorceresses. That's what I am. I'm a SeeD from a place called Balamb Garden.

"There's already been two wars back at my home and things are finally peaceful again. But we're all separated from one another," she finished with a sad smile. "I hope that everyone who isn't here is okay."

Of course he wouldn't know what they were, Hakkai wasn't from her world. Selphie was used to explaining things like this to people. SeeD's and Garden were met with a lot of unwarranted hatred because of what they did. They kept the peace at the sake of someone else's life. This aspect of her job saddened Selphie because she had to fight Matron but that was something that couldn't be helped now.

Selphie shook her head at Hakkai. "It's okay, I'll explain it now then. SeeD is a group of elite mercenaries," she began, picking up a menu and looking over it, fish and chips catching her fancy this evening. "And we fight in wars and do reconnaissance and all that jazz. The original job of SeeD's was to defend my world from the Sorceresses. Some of the sorceresses are good like my friend Rinoa but most of them are bad news so we stop them. Now Garden is a school that trains the SeeD's. It's more or less that we grow in the garden and then we're harvested for the greater good."

"As far I know, Seifer's the only from my world that's here right now. I know that my other friends are safe and sound, worried sick about me but I'm safe so I hope they don't worry too much. There is someone else though that looks like I friend of mine but he said that he isn't so... I really don't know what do to there. I'll just have to make do with the current situation and what I've got on me."

Selphie, eternal optimist Extraordinaire.
