Foundation Day Festival: Food Tent

Character(s): everyone in the food tent
Content: food, and lots of it.
Setting: Joco da Crianca Fairgrounds, food tent
Time: all day~
Warnings: Multithreaded posting format (please include time of day and sub-location in your comment's subject line)

The food tent is the second biggest structure at the fair, next to the Ferris wheel. It's a large white tent set up near the far end of the grounds. Inside, the majority of the tent is filled with long tables (with white plastic tablecloths) and benches for seating.

The food, along one side of the tent, is set up buffet-style. They have a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, and it's all good stuff, having been catered by Café Ersesat. It's always well-stocked, too, somehow; if they run out of anything, it's replenished within a few minutes. There is also a small bar, where alcoholic drinks and cocktails are available upon request to anyone who looks old enough.

The meerkat nodded in agreement. "I was thinkin' 'bout that too. She's from a different time than the first Etna that was here. The odds of the same person from the same time that disappeared reappearing though sound pretty bleak..."

"You know," Timon continued, leaving little room for anyone else to comment. "that's got me wondering; has the mayor ever disappeared? I mean, I know he's a lousy mayor n' all, but he was gone for awhile, 'business' or whatever his excuse was and when he got back... Maybe the same thing happened to him?"

Death nodded at Laharl. He'd heard much about him over the journals, and the boy was certainly living up to his reputation. SO SHE HAS REAPPEARED, BUT WITHOUT HER MEMORIES OF THIS PLACE, he he surmised, thinking. It made absolutely no sense to him, but perhaps there were spells surrounding this place he didn't understand. THIS IS STRANGE.

Timon once again brought up an idea he hadn't thought of. YOU BRING UP AN INTERESTING POINT. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE MAYOR IS SUBJECT TO THE LAWS OF THIS PLACE, BUT I WOULD DOUBT IT. IT SEEMS ONLY THE VISITORS TO THIS CITY DISAPPEAR AT RANDOM, AND THE MAYOR SEEMS TO BE A NATIVE. IF I WERE TO SEE HIM, he mused, I WOULD BE ABLE TO TELL. IS THERE A PLACE WE CAN FIND HIM?

Laharl would NEVER admit it, but there was the odd time when Timon DID show he had some brains, of course this wasn't one of those times. The Overlord rolled his eyes at Timon's idea, "The mayor definitely seems to be a native, and I don't know about either of you, but I've never heard any of them talking about eachother disapearing. It's only us who disapear."

"Although... where the hell would he go on business? There isn't anywhere TO go, right?" he then said, thoughtfully. The residents never spoke of anywhere to go other than Paixao. "Or, hell, where do they all come from, for that matter?"

It really made no sense. It was one of those mysteries of the damn place that never seemed to have a clear answer.

"Anyways, hn, I don't know, I think he hides cause he knows he'd have all of us after him if we did know where he lived, heh."

It was true enough. The Mayor was the closest thing this place had to a boss, so by those logics Laharl ought to be able to beat up the Mayor and take over Paixao.

"Where they all come from? You mean the citizens? It's a little late to be teachin' you the birds and the bee's, don't you think?" Shaking his head at Laharl's questioning, he shared a smirk to follow his remark. "Besides, I don't think Death here's got any diagrams on hand."

"I was trying to catch the Mayor today, since he was supposed to be here n' all for the festival, but from what I've he already might of left. Figures, he's probably gone back into hiding like Laharl said. Who knows where that is though."

The meerkat paused for a moment, suddenly finding himself remembering an important piece of knowledge he had yet the share. "Who knows aside from the organization. They know where he lives. -or at least they claim to."

Death was finding himself increasingly pleased with the fact that he'd come to this meeting despite the circumstances. Idea after idea that he'd never even considered were being tossed around, the sign of a worthwhile information exchange. There was one thing he didn't understand, however. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT BIRDS AND BEES HAVE TO DO WITH THE NATIVES OF THIS CITY, he commented, THOUGH I HAVE SEEN THE CITIZENS ENTERING THROUGH THE GATES SAME AS THE VISITORS DO.

AND YOU ARE CORRECT, I DO NOT HAVE ANY DIAGRAMS, he added helpfully, THOUGH I AM NOT SURE OF WHAT YOU WISHED THEM TO BE.

IF THE MAYOR IS INDEED IN LEAGUE WITH THE ORGANIZATION, Death built off Timon's idea, THEN IT MAKES SENSE THEY WOULD KNOW HIS PLACE OF RESIDENCE. I WONDER IF ONE OF THEM MIGHT BE SO KIND AS TO TELL US. While the flat tone belied no kind of emotion, one could barely detect the faintest glint of ironic mischief in the blue fire that made Death's eyes. Should less than orthodox methods be required, it said, no hesitance in performing them would be experienced.

Death delt in saint and sinner alike, seeing both the highest heights and absolute bottoms of the world. He knew just how these things worked.
