From a Walled City to a Domed One [Active]
Character(s): Rakka, Stitch, Rikku
Content: Rakka arrives in Paixao.
Setting: Niflheim
Time: Evening
Warnings: None
It wasn't waking up so much as it was coming out of a daydream. She opened her eyes, completely awake, completely dressed--even with her dark red coat, and standing alone before a silvery gate she did not recognize. Startled, she looked around. The gate was the only opening she could see in what appeared to be a large building. There was a short line of people, apparently waiting to enter. She could see nothing around her besides the building except the horizon, where the last light of the day was fading.
No walls. She wasn't in Glie anymore. But a haibane couldn't go beyond the walls, and she hadn't had her Day of Flight yet. So what was going on? This wasn't exactly like when she had come out of the cocoon, but it was similar--a new place, filled with people who probably didn't know her. Unless the others were here, too? Maybe they were inside. She got in line. The people ahead of her ignored her, except for an occasional glance at her grey wings and glowing halo. She didn't see any other haibane.
"Hello, miss," the guard, a young looking man with short blonde hair and light blue eyes said as she reached the front of the line. "Your name?"
"Um, Rakka," Rakka said, gaping at the city in a building that stretched out before her. "Where am I? How did I get here?"
"Paixao," the guard said, ignoring her second question and handing her a thin grey box and a brochure. "Your journal and information about the city."
She stepped inside, clutching the items to her chest, moving out of the way of the entrance and stopping to examine what she had been given. Should she try to find someone she knew? Would anyone know her? Maybe she could find someone to tell her what was going on. Still studying her journal, she took a few cautious steps forward. She would find someone who knew what was going on--if this was like Glie, she couldn't be the only one who appeared here.

He sat up and hung the journal around his neck, noticing a girl a bit in front of him with wings and a halo, fitting the description of Rakka. Getting off of the bench, he wandered over and gently nudged at her leg.
"Are you Rakka?" He asked looking up at her.
no subject
"I am," she said. "You're Stitch?"
no subject
"I have a friend around here, her name's Rikku, but I dunno where she is at the moment..." He said, looking around for his friend.

This new person was interesting, though, and Rikku flitted over to investigate. "Hey, is this a friend of yours, Stitch?" she asked, floating up and tapping experimentally at Rakka's halo. She'd never seen an accessory quite like it, but it looked pretty cool.
((ooc: sorry about the delay, just spent most of the weekend at work..))

"A fairy?" Rakka gasped. "Hi--Rikku? I'm Rakka. Did you just show up here, too, or do you live here?"
no subject
no subject
"Nah, I don't live here or in Earth," she said casually, floating a little ways further out of Rakka's personal space. "My world's just called Home. Frankly, I hadn't ever seen people as big as the ones around here till I got to Traverse Town! Although, that was a while ago," she added.
But of course, icebreaking questions like that deserved fair trades. "What about you guys, what worlds are you from?" she asked enthusiastically.
no subject
Rakka found it hard to imagine an entire world filled with people Rikku's size. But maybe there was a world with people several times Rakka's size, and she didn't realize it? Maybe she was still on her world, just somewhere else. Who knew what was beyond Glie's walls?

But for the moment, she floated down and patted Stitch on the head, trying to cheer him up. "You sure do! And I'm sure we'll find your family in no time, just you wait." They all would. After all, Rikku was sure Yuna and Paine would turn up sooner or later, too.
no subject
It seemed possible, if people were just showing up. Maybe she could find another haibane, too. Of course, she wouldn't even know where to begin to start looking for anyone, in a place as big as this. "How long have you two been here?"
no subject
"I haven't been here long." Stitch said, scratching at an ear. "I got her a few days ago, but I was at the other end of the domes...I ended up here because I found a flying carpet who went off with someone else." His ears fell to rest on his head...his first friend had forgotten about him.
"But anyway, I heard something about a festival. Do you guys want to go?"
no subject
"I haven't been here very long, either. Couple days, tops," Rikku added. She remembered the flying carpet and blinked at Stitch's reaction to it; she'd assumed it belonged to that Balthier guy. So he'd stolen it from Stitch?? That wasn't very nice, either.
The sudden change of subject derailed her train of thought for a second. "Oh yeah, that's tomorrow, isn't it?" she said thoughtfully. And she knew of at least one person who'd said he'd meet her there. "Well, sure! Sounds like fun! What do you say, Rakka?"
no subject
A flying carpet? Surely such things didn't exist! But then, here was a tiny, fairy-like human and a blue-furred alien--unless she was having a very strange dream, they were certainly right in front of her. Perhaps the idea of a carpet that flew wasn't all that odd. Stitch seemed rather unhappy at the idea of the carpet leaving to go with someone else--she would have felt bad, too, to be abandoned. Then her thoughts focused on the new subject.
A festival? Such things didn't happen in Glie, although Rakka did recognize the term. Again she was struck with that odd feeling of knowing in general what something was, but being embarrassingly clueless about the specifics. It conjured up happy, excited feelings, and while the closest thing she could compare it to was the New Year's celebration, she grinned.
"I'd love to go!" she said. "But where will we stay until tomorrow?" They couldn't spend the night wandering the streets, and the light--from the top of the dome, at least, however they managed to make it seem skylike--was rapidly fading.
no subject
"There's a hotel near here...It's called O Pastor. We could try there." Stitch said, pointing at the place on the map he had brought up.
