Notoriety [Active]
Characters: Larxene and Luxord
Content: Public Enemies numbers One and Two meet for snark and tea.
Setting: The Cheap Prayer [F5]
Time: Afternoon
Warning(s): These two are warnings in and of themselves by this point. Approach with caution. :D
It was hard to travel when one had to keep one's face mostly out of sight. Luxord had started to use portals of darkness to travel within the city - it had become easier and more secure than simply walking, as he preferred. Switching to casual clothing, much as he despised it, also helped with the disguise. People expected less malice of a blue open-collared shirt and khaki slacks than they did a black coat, especially with recent events being what they were.
So he sat in the bar, a place where blonde faces came and went with gret regularity and little memory, and perused the cocktail menu, waiting for his partner in crime and drinking to arrive.

Everyone knew who she was. Pity that in this instance, fame was a bad thing.
Larxene had switched to a white summery dress that went to her knees, ignoring the order for all those who could to dress as the civilians did. It was obvious enough that Larxene despised taking orders, and what orders she did take were thoroughly underhanded. Just as her catching of Laharl had been. That was the way of the ninja, and she'd been careless in letting herself get hurt. That was all. It'd never happen again, honest.
Still, she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do while the experiments went on. Not then at any rate. There was little Larxene, herself could do, unless she wanted to raise awareness of the organization, something that was evidently trying to be played down all of the sudden. Pity. She swished her dress once, to fit the part she was trying to play of a childish adult.
And with that, she entered into the Cheap Prayer for her planned meeting with Luxord. Oh, but what awaited her? More mocking? Of course, she could come with that in hand. Larxene may not have been as sharp tongued as Axel (which was why she enjoyed him so much), but she could match wits. And who knew, maybe Luxord would actually have something interesting to say, hm?

He already had two bright red drinks in tall glasses waiting. Taking a sip of the one closest to him, he turned on the barstool to face Larxene. "I love your clothing choice," he smirked, offering a mocking toast. "though I certainly hope you left poor Namine something to wear."

But her eyes clearly said elsewise. "I do miss my cloak, though. It's so much more... intimidating," she said with sigh before glancing around at the patrons of the bar-- none of the esteemed guests were there, just the civilians.
Drat. There went her plans for fun, hm?

"True." Luxord agreed with her sentiment about the cloaks - as snappy as khaki slacks were, they couldn't exactly strike fear into the hearts of man and beast. "However, they made us stick out like the proverbial sore thumb. For now, this is the more intelligent choice."
He slid the cocktail he'd ordered for her, a bright red identical to his own, over the bar towards her. "You can at least enjoy yourself while you're here."

She hummed, a hand reaching out to pull the drink closer to her, though it didn't look as though she were too concerned with the drink. She was more concerned with the newly enforced good behavior. Really, couldn't they think of something better? Perhaps she'd have a fun little excursion, just... with her hood up.
It was time to welcome some of the new guests to Paixao, at any rate. She'd have to do that later. No, not later... Sooner. That brought a tiny little smirk to her face. "Oh, I do intend to enjoy myself here," sing song and cheerful.
"After all, it'd be a shame to waste any opportunity that presented itself."
no subject
"Indeed it would," Luxord replied pensively, swirling his drink lightly in his glass before taking a sip. "Though I doubt you'll simply wait for one to come along." Larxene was up to something, he could tell. Then again, when was she ever not?
Setting the drink back on the bar, he faced Larxene once again, the faintest hint of a smirk playing at his lips. "Cards on the table, my dear. What are you up to?"
no subject
She smiled at his next statement, but clearly she was trying to look innocent. Nevermind that it was a look she failed at, especially around those who knew her so well. Which, Luxord was one of them who knew her well enough.
"Up to?" she asked, leaning back against her chair. "I'm up to nothing-- at least not yet."
no subject
Ah, the innocent smile. That cinched things in Luxord's mind - she was definitely up to no good. Should all else fail, it would undoubtedly prove to be amusing. "'Yet" being the key word in that sentence, of course."
no subject
On the other hand, Larxene didn't really approve of drinks designed to take control away from her. It just seemed so... Unnecessary. Not fun in the slightest. But, Luxord preferred chance. Larxene preferred concrete, unalienable facts. She wasn't fond of chance.
Especially when it didn't work out in her favor. "It's so droll here, and it's been far too long since I've used the word droll... So boring, so droll. It has a nice ring to it," She said with a sing-song quality to her voice.
no subject
"But you're right," he continued. "Things have quieted down far too much. The game is just no fun if the players aren't on their toes. Perhaps we could pay them a visit at the festival Demyx has organized?" He turned that lazy, conniving smirk to Larxene. "Or did you have something else in mind?"
no subject
She tiled her head, resting it on the palm of her hand, while the other played with the rim of the drink. "I think I will. I haven't decided. But it'd be something interesting. And in the end, isn't that all that matters?"
no subject
"They're more like guidelines, anyways," he finished that particular train of thought with a smirk.
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about it being interesting," he addressed her other statement. "After all, word on the journals is one of your favorite people will be in attendance." He took a sip of his drink, taking time to savor it before continuing on. "A young prince by the name of Laharl."
no subject
He needed a little reminder as well, didn't he? "Hmm, now that's temptation that I'm just no good at avoiding," she said slowly, almost seductively. "I may very well have to take you up on that suggestion now!"
She giggled and took another sip of the disgusting drink. Yuck... This was why she didn't drink often, not here at any rate. They didn't have any drinks with class.

Well, he almost had a companion. One more thing left to do.
"Shall I go with you, then?" he inquired lightly, the question simply a part of the game. "After all, a lady should always have an escort."
