And now dine...on what, of course, remains to be seen.

Characters: Alice and Chizuru
Time: night
Setting: The Wild Ginger (L5)
Summary: After discussion of how to proceed next, the girls decide to shack up at a hotel...next to the infamous brothel.
Warnings: Loads of flirting and more, most like.

Instead, she was introduced to the snobbier side of Paixao: The Wild Ginger, after all, was a place of class. That, of course, did not mean the place was stuffy, far from it. They could very visibly hear the cat calls and bustle from the brothel next door, and certainly some from the seedier establishment trickled into the Wild Ginger.

As a result, the place was populated with saucy richer folk roaring with laughter and having a great old time. Alice and Chizuru, of course, looked very much out of place there as a result. While Chizuru certainly got many appraising glances, no doubt due to her school uniform's showing of leg, Alice simply got looked over and she was perfectly fine with that. Alice ordered from the menu something that appeared to be a large salad, and calmly chewed her food. She swallowed and looked over in Chizuru.

"I'm afraid I've rather lost my taste for meat these days, as a previous encounter almost wound me up as a snack to a rather cannibalistic old crone. Luckily for me, I made her see my point about not being made dinner. So tell me Chizuru, were you waiting terribly long? I did hope nothing bad happened to you. Those cloaked fellows would have been in a sorry state had I found you hurt."

Alice's choice of conversation starters gave the schoolgirl pause. Yuck! Something like that would be enough to kill anyone's taste in meat! At least Chizuru had ordered grilled fish, otherwise she might've gone hungry that evening, and that was no way to have a date. Briefly, she wondered what 'Hime was having for dinner tonight-- whatever it was probably included leeks and peanut butter.

"I checked my journal as soon as I could stand up straight," she answered Alice quickly and truthfully, "and your message was one of the first things I saw there. Like I said, I got bruised a bit, but it's nothing serious." She hoped Alice hadn't seen her limp a little earlier from her sprained ankle; she didn't want the other girl to get upset about it.

"There are plenty of people on the journals talking about those black-coated people and the organization they belong to. Seems kinda small for an 'organization', though, don't you think? Six or seven known members... that seems like it should really be more of a 'gang'..." she mused. But gangs were dangerous, weren't they? Though this organization sounded like bad news, too...

Shouldn't think about things like that, you're on a date! she thought abruptly, and decided to discreetly change the topic. Perhaps a little game of footsies under the table would lighten the mood? Chizuru did her best to keep a straight face and appear focused on her fish as she moved her foot and nudged Alice's...

Chizuru nearly giggled when Alice responded to her challenge, then moved the foot she'd started this little game with back to block Alice's foot. A new challenger appears! she thought giddily, and promptly stifled a most un-innocent grin with a bite of fish (thankfully, Alice hadn't mentioned a distaste for fish or a reason therefore yet). Half of Paixao might have been kidnapped for all that Chizuru really cared right now-- she was having the time of her life!

Chizuru definitely squeaked at the impact, flinching back, then laughing and reaching for a napkin with her right hand to wipe off her shirt and hide that her left hand was loading up a fork with rice for a returning volley. "No," she answered, giggling as if she'd been had in a practical joke and was just being a good sport about it.

Then she fired back. Bombs away!

Food fight! She hadn't been in one of those since middle school! But the memory came back to her of adolescent war games, of surprises, strategies, ambushes, and the discreet diplomacy of everyone trying to get 'Hime with her bizarre foodstuffs and Tatsuki with her militant fighting abilities onto their teams when the mess broke out in the courtyard during lunch.

Food flew, girls laughed, the staff scowled, the other patrons laughed, and ultimately Chizuru lost the food fight. It didn't bother her one bit-- she'd been on the losing side of plenty of such wars in school, and they weren't at all as important as the battles Alice had talked about in her journal or in person, nor as important as the one when they'd tried to escape the city.

Thinking of that fight reminded her of Sora, lost and amnesiac somewhere, and Chizuru frowned slightly. "It looks like we're done here," she said finally, flagging a distressed waiter for the bill. "This was great, but... the sooner we get some sleep, the sooner we can get back to work trying to help Sora get his memories back, right? Or maybe talk to people about finding another way out of Paixao?"

She slipped a hand across the table to Alice's and smiled at the brunette girl. "Maybe once we're done taking care of emergencies here, we can have another date... how about the upcoming festival?"

Chizuru giggled as she and Alice left the nightclub to walk together towards the hotel, hand in hand. If not for the fact that her family must be worried sick about her by now-- but she'd run away, all sorts of terrible things could have happened to her, murderers and rapists and-- she might have agreed with Alice that Paixao was an okay place but for the crazies... and she didn't mind the crazies too much.

But she'd come here quite against her will, had found herself a prisoner, had gotten into dangerous situations trying to escape, been tossed around without so much as a by-your-leave, and... had gotten romantically involved with a cutie. Been rescued from dangerous situations, had met one of the few guys in existance that seemed to be worth knowing, had gotten into trouble and adventure and excitement, had been on a first date with a girl who could be dangerous in her own right...

She'd seen the slight upset on Alice's face at the mention of wanting to go home, and if there was one thing that could screw up a great date, it was causing the partner to get upset about something or another. "It's okay," she told the other girl. "We have plenty of time to make our escape from Paixao-- and plenty to do until then." She gave a flirty wink at that comment. "I'm just worried my parents will be upset at how long I've been gone."

Not that they'd expect her home after about two weeks. They'd think a criminal had gotten her, or that she'd been in a car accident, or that she'd fallen off a bridge or something... Chizuru smiled to cover up her troublesome thoughts and focused on entertaining her date for the rest of the evening.
