Content: Kamui arrives and attempts to locate Subaru.
Setting: Nilfheim Gate.

Kamui landed with a light tap on the floor in yet another new, unfamiliar world. He took a moment to calmly look around and absorb his new surroundings. It was just another world like any other; he was already used to strange and new things. He no longer bothered to question oddities of new worlds he travelled to--but this world was different from the rest.

Subaru wasn't there.

At least, not at his side. He could faintly feel his twin's presence somewhere in the world, but the fact that they weren't together was driving him mad. Before he could do anything, he was sure he had to find Subaru and make sure that man had not reached him or caught up to them. Kamui took a short moment to close his eyes and compose himself, which was difficult since his protective rage was demanding he rampage through the place until he found Subaru.

Just as he began his swift advance forward, a person at the side caught his eye and he paused. It was a gatekeeper of some sort, and one that looked far too merry for his own good at that.

Kamui blurred out whatever the cheerful gatekeeper had to say to him, took whatever was offered to him before brushing past to begin his search. Above anything, he had to find Subaru. The details and oddities of this new world could be worked out and figured out later.

Lelouch was tired. Extremely tired. He had spent his first week or so in the city exploring, searching. Looking for someone he might know, or something familiar. He found no such thing anywhere. He had long since discarded the helmet, seeing as nobody here recognized him anyway, though he continued to look around the place for clues or a sign.

He was passing by one of the entrance gates during one of his searches. Nothing was different- the same people in a long, neat line, the same gatekeeper, the same blonde haired civilians circling around the place. He felt like he was going to go crazy looking at the same thing over and over again, until he saw a shock of dark hair over by the tall, winding gates.

Another one, huh. Another young man, no older than he, who had been displaced. Without any other idea what to do, he approached the boy with a slight tone of curiosity. The other young man looked worried, as if he had lost something- or someone- important.

He knew the feeling.

"Hey," Lelouch called. "Are you all right?"

At the feeling of a new presence, Kamui tensed slightly and let his eyes dart towards the source of the sound of the new arrival. He carefully regarded the dark haired boy for a long moment, as if debating whether or not he posed any sort of threat. He remained silent for a long time, but figured his need to find Subaru should take precedent over any other issues at hand.

Slowly, and still somewhat suspiciously, he asked, "...who are you?"

'God,' Lelouch thought, 'this guy looks a lot like... no, never mind.'

He stared back at the other straight in the eye, his assertiveness something to be admired. "I'm another stranded man who's been placed here wrongly. I am called Z--," he paused. No, he didn't use that name anymore. It didn't need to be used here. Paixao was not a place where he needed to use that alias. "Lelouch. Lelouch Lamperouge. ...And may I ask for yours?"

When the other boy met his gaze evenly, Kamui felt vaguely impressed, which was something at least. He hated people who were weak and cowered before him. In some part of his mind, he thought he may be able to get along with this Lelouch.

"...Kamui."

Of course, introductions aside, he still had urgent business at hand.

"Subaru," he said suddenly, gaze steadily returned at Lelouch. "Have you seen him?"

Something told Lelouch that this boy was... different. Something about him wasn't like everyone else, but nonetheless he continued to converse, his gaze unwavering.

He raised an eyebrow and looked thoughtful for a moment. "No, I haven't. I haven't heard of anyone like that. Though that doesn't necessarily mean that he's not here." He paused. "Why, is he that important to you?"

[[holy crap that would be amazing. XD though this particular Lelouch came from pre-episode 23 :p]]

Kamui immediately grew impatient, nearly to the point he wanted to do something violent, but he knew Subaru would scold him for his temper later. Putting a great effort to restrain his great frustration, Kamui felt his eyes crinkle in a sort of irritated expression. His inability to located Subaru was maddening.

Closing his eyes in attempt to sooth his furrowed brows, he muttered, "My everything. He's my twin."

As Lelouch looked at Kamui, his left eye momentarily twitched. 'A reckless, murderous intent,' he thought sourly. 'This boy's mental stability is not something to be relying on, it seems.' Well, if something unsavory was going to happen, he had to be prepared. He locked eyes with the boy.

Though part of him had to sympathize. Here, in this world, he had found no sign of Nunally. No sign of Suzaku. None of his knights, none of his friends. Not even that annoying C.C. There was nobody here.

"...I'm sure that if you explore the place, you'll be able to find him," he said, trying his best to give some condolence. He wasn't too experienced at it. "I should be able to help you, if you so desire."

Kamui was rather impatient by nature, but he had been fighting hard to suppress it. Subaru was pretty much the only person who could successfully pacify him, and since Subaru was not around, Kamui was having trouble keeping his temper in check, even if it wasn't Lelouch's fault for anything. He did have to agree the with the rational statement though. He was just unsure of whether or not he would be able to get used to the feeling of another's presence.

Very hesitantly, he gave a brief nod before asking slowly, "Did you...also lose someone important?"

Lelouch momentarily looked off to the side. Suddenly, he couldn't stop thinking about Nunally and the others. For how long had he been in this place? And for how long had she been alone? What about Suzaku? Was he even alive? And what the hell was he supposed to do if Britannia didn't even exist in this world?

He snapped out of his thoughts, then looked back at Kamui with a slightly crestfallen expression. "I have no one here," he said succinctly.

Kamui himself was rather inept at comforting others as well. The only time he had even bother to do so was whenever Subaru was upset, which was often enough as it was (he always tried his hardest to keep his twin happy). Though because of his natural lack of empathetic speech, he was unable to say much back to the other boy, even though he had sensed the great about of pain bearing down on the simple phrase.

Lelouch was intelligent company, at least. That was rare for Kamui to find; especially if he was looking without Subaru around.

Still, all he could manage to say in response to the boy was a vague, "You must be lonely."

Lelouch scoffed under his breath, and an air of faux comfort began to creep onto his face. "Well, I suppose that being alone was my fate from the start. It's not of much importance to me." Words that C.C. had once told him began to waft and float about his head. His left eye began to pulse involuntarily.

Either way, this 'Kamui', however violently inclined, did prove to be at least someone who made sense in this world. Everyone else he had met was either unnecessarily cryptic or out-of-place. Though Lelouch could not help but feel a bit sympathetic towards the other boy's lost sibling.

"Well, enough about me," he said with a slight smile, like one he would offer Nunally back at home. "I suppose you probably want to find him as soon as possible."

Someone who was used to loneliness--certainly something Kamui could respect. He was usually inclined to not accept help from others and do things on his own, but there was something particularly odd about this new world that was disturbing enough to give even him chills. His urgency to find Subaru was borderline frantic. His only problem was, he hadn't the slightest idea where to begin. The world was somehow detaining from locating Subaru by his natural senses. For this, he turned to Lelouch.

"How long have you been here?" he asked. "What exactly kind of world is this?"
