Thats why I never held the map.[Complete/Closed]

Character(s):Genjyo Sanzo, a Lumen and whoever wants to join him for a walk to the grocery store
Content:walking around Vanaheim really looking for a store that sells cigarettes
Setting:After the Dan thing, wandering around Vanaheim area (around G4) trying to read the map to where the grocery store is.
Time:around late afternoon
Warnings:Sanzo's bad language

Sanzo was now smoking his last cigarrette, and he was very irritable, and the map that he had found wasn't helping him at all find the closest store from where he was. He turned the map upside down, to both sides and he even took out his glasses and tried to read it, but it was no use. "This is why Hakkai always held the fucking map when we were travling." Sanzo said to himself.

After many minutes of trying to figure out how to read the map, he finally decided to put it away. Thus he began to fold the map, and that proved to be no easy feat either. Sanzo eventually made the map obey him, and put it in his robes until he found someone that could read maps to travel with for awhile.

The lumen acted like a normal little dog would, prancing through the streets, being chased by small children, occassionally sniffing at things and wagging its tail. Most everything smelled like light, and all was well with the city of Paixao. The lumen was happy.

Until it bumped into a man that most definitely wasn't from Paixao. What's more, this man didn't smell as much like light. The lumen smelled a hint of darkness on this man, and foul smoke from the white tube between his lips, and the slightest hint of gunsmoke and liquor. This man didn't belong in the lumen's city, and the little canine reacted appropriately, baring its teeth at him.

Still, the scent of gunsmoke was a warning. The man was armed. The lumen wouldn't attack for now, merely follow along like a stray dog would, but the man had better not push his luck...

The little canid luxanis didn't answer the man's questions, because it wasn't interested in food and wouldn't be able to tell him what was on the map unless it knew what he was looking for. Instead, it tilted its head and grinned at him the way dogs grin, waiting for him to be more specific about what he wanted it to read from the map for him.

After a moment, it circled him, sat, and looked confused as if to say Well, what do you want? If he didn't specify, how could he expect answers? He hadn't behaved in manners indicating the darkness in him yet, which hinted to the lumen that salvation wasn't quite lost yet, and the creature had all the time in the world to be patient with him.

The lumen didn't know anything about the cigarettes this man was looking for, but he seemed friendly and intelligent, so perhaps he was not so far removed from the light, after all. And it knew where there were grocery stores... but none near here in the poorer districts of Paixao, where people could get their food from the soup kitchen and everything else from Auntie Unde's... Perhaps the general store would be more to this man's interests? It didn't exactly trust the gypsies' wares, though Carta Para Ti would be closer...

The canid huffed a moment and did its best to indicate Auntie Unde's General Store on the map, whining slightly at the distance-- the man was really in the wrong part of town if he was looking to buy reliable goods.

It had been here too long. There were places to go and things to do, and the lumen did not have time any more to wait for this man, reeking of smoke and smelling faintly of the darkness, to provide it with a stylus to show on the map. But to prioritize its own needs over those of another would be selfish and an inclination towards darkness, and if there was one thing the lumen wanted to stay away from, it was any chance of becoming something of the darkness.

So it waited for him, and took the brush in its teeth and used it to point out Auntie Unde's General Store, then placed the brush back in his hand and left him to figure out for himself how to get there, an easy lope that became an all-out run once it was out of the man's sight. It had to go now, it was that simple.
