Raito had never seen a place like this before. It was unnatural and it somehow set his teeth on the edge. However, being rather adept in the art of acting, he simply leaned back in one of the chairs. If the Kira-supporter had come from Japan, chances are that he would have dark hair as well - which would be rather easy to spot in a crowd like this.
A few minutes of flirting with the girl at the counter got him a cup of steaming black coffee and her address on the back of the napkin. It felt odd somehow, exercising his charms for a simple cup of caffeine, but the truth was that he had no money on him - something that he planned on changing sometime soon.
Tapping his fingers lightly against the pristine white cup, he took another sip, feeling the familiar beverage soothe his nerves, if only a little, even as he kept an eye out for anyone who even remotely fit his profile. He'd come here half an hour early and had gotten the table furthest from the crowd. A discreet check around for bugs had proved that there was none of the like, but then again, one could never be too careful.
One misstep, and Kira would be caught.
Adjusting the long-sleeved white button up shirt he wore, he undid one button and his cuffs thanks to the sheer warmth. Crossing his ankles, he settled back once more and contented himself with scanning the crowd for the man who had been supposed to meet him. To his credit, he was smarter than the average lot of them, and Raito made sure to keep him in mind in case he required his...assistance in any future plans.
He would probably be much easier to handle than Misa would.

It was impossible. Was he lying? No, Raito decided. At this point, Teru seemed to think that he was Kira, and with one that devoted, it was simply impossible for such a person to even think of lying to him. He'd said that he'd heard Raito's voice too, and...
He leaned back in his seat, trying to figure everything out. So this city doesn't simply draw everyone from different worlds, but different times, too? It was unbelievable, but then again, so were shinigami and the fact that one can simply pass the death sentence on a person just by knowing their name and face.
With the thoughts whirling in his mind as he struggled - for once - to piece everything together, Raito simply responded. "The year I was in before I was...pulled here was 2004."
