Where To Now? [Active]

Characters: Kir, Toph Bei Fong
Content: Kir and Toph go riding around on the trains
Setting: Promenade Terrace [H9]
Time: Unknown
Warnings: None yet

He had to admit that riding on the train had been deceptively relaxing. The familiar clack-clack of wheels on the rails was soothing, and even though he had shared the seat with a stranger, it was someone he could at least talk to. When the train had reached it's destination, they'd disembarked into a station much less crowded than the Central one.

"I guess we're here," the ex-albatross said, checking the map. "We're almost all the way into... Niflheim," he said, stumbling a bit over the pronunciation.

Toph laughed. "Hey, its no big! I just wanted to know you were alright. That fight was pretty tough, and to tell you the truth, we kinda lucked out. Still! I want to talk to you about some stuff that's been going on! There's this Organization, and this guy named Timon was telling me..."

Toph trailed off as she slowly turned to Kir, a confused look on her face. "What? What do you mean 'who am I?' You know darn well who I am, and who she is! You were just talking to us a minute ago, and you know who I am!"

Toph blinked, and closed her mouth. Had that just happened because she was talking about the Organization? Did they hold this kind of power?!

This was definitely scary. Firebenders suddenly didn't look that scary next to people that could make you forget who you were and send demons after you!

"Organization? Well, whoever they are--" Terra paused in her own words, and looked at Kir again. She looked just as confused, and maybe as surprised, as Toph did. She crossed her arms, saying, "Uh, yeah. You were just talking to her. And what gives? You were all right a second ago," she said. Terra didn't stop to consider that something was strange about this guy.

Toph pounded the table, more than aware that she could be causing a scene. "You see? Nobody just forgets they were talking to someone! I gotta tell Timon! He might be able to find out if anybody else has amnesia!"

Toph paused, then gave Terra a nervous smile. She bet Terra probably thought she was crazy, so it looked like she would have to better explain herself.

"Look, you know that ghost thing that we fought? Well, why did it come after us? I never heard anything about it! There are things in this place, apparently, and there's these people, see? they walk around in black coats, and its said that they control things on Paixao."

Toph sighed. "Timon's a friend of mine from these journal things. We talked about it. Now I'm starting to think if there's any reason to train, it's so we can fight those guys."

Terra's face went from confused to concerned. This definitely wasn't normal. How can someone just forget their identity so quickly like that? She was about to say, "That's it. I'm going to go and get help," but the things Toph had to say stopped her.

"Whoa. So that meerkat wasn't kidding about the weird things around here." Terra had no idea things were this bad around here. After seeing this sudden wave of amnesia come over Kir, she was convinced. She nodded, saying, "You gotta fill me in on this. For now, maybe we can try and talk to him. You know, to see if this is temporary or not."

Toph stooped and put her hand out to Kir. "Hey, don't go! Listen, I'm sorry we're ignoring you. It's just that some people are messing with your memory and we're trying to find out who. It's weird though...why your memory?"

That was the question wasn't it? Toph had still talked about the Organization to Terra but nothing had happened to her. Were their attacks completely random?

"Soup please," Toph said to a nearby waiter. She looked at the others. "Well, before we start talking about this we better have a bit to eat."

[identity profile] heartrocker.livejournal.com 2007-05-17 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Terra nodded. "Yeah. Soup is a good idea." Terra wished she was better with moments like this, but what could she do? She never experienced a moment like this, ever.

She looked directly to Kir and said, "You're gonna need the energy if we're going to try and figure out what happened to you. And who knows? Maybe something in here will help you recover your memory."

"Yes, I'm blind," Toph said, waving her hand dismissively. "Your name is Kir, and you were telling me about your friend that you were looking for at the train station. We had a tip that your friend might have been kidnapped. we came here to eat and talk, and we're joined by my friend Terra. We were talking to just a moment ago when you got this blank look on your face and you suddenly forgot where you were and who you are. Well, now you know. We're in a cafe and now we're tying to put all the pieces together as to how you lost your memory in the first place."

Toph took in a deep breath. If this was what other people had to go through with friends that lost their memory, she felt their pain. She would definitely have to remember to talk to Timon the next chance she got.

Terra nodded. It was the only thing she could do right then. She was lost when Toph was explaining things before she reached the part that involved her. And she had no idea who Kir was, or what he was all about. It's hard to help a stranger recover his memory. "It did happen pretty fast," she added. "You asked for my name, and you were about to tell me yours when you just... forgot." Terra realizes that it's only a recap of what Toph just got done explaining, but she figured putting in small details might help.

"Well at least you can remember to feel hungry!" Toph exclaimed, but she didn't feel all that much better. Sure, she had talked to Timon and they were trying to find a way to fight whatever was happening, but what could they do against an enemy that could make them lose their memories? And even if they weren't responsible, what was? This place was starting to get weirder by the day, and Terra had no idea how crazy it got!

"Anyway," Toph said to Terra and Kir, "He was looking for his friend Jing. That's how I found him at the station. Now the way I figure, it's all too coincidental that you," she pointed at Kir, "were looking for someone, and now a few hours later you lose your memory, and only a few hours ago we were fighting some ghost thing. This is too coincidental to be written off."

Toph clasped her hands together, a determined look on her face. "I say we start looking for answers. It might start with all those kidnappings that have been going on in Paixao."

[identity profile] heartrocker.livejournal.com 2007-05-27 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
This was too much of a coincidence to write off.

Trra nodded, taking all of this in. She glanced around once again, and then looked to Toph and Kir. "Toph, I'm gonna go and see if I can find anything out," she said. "If there is something going on around here, w should gather as much information as we can."

Terra waved to them, and headed out the door of the cafe. The sooner she went searching for answers, the better her chances would be to find some clues.
