Anything Danny was going to say after his previous statement was lost now. Any form of speech he thought of uttering seemed pointless just now, so he went quiet.

There was a small lump in his throat too, from seeing the girls break down like that. He knew that everything that had happened was all from his doing. If he was simply not in the picture, then none of this would have happened, and he wouldn't be sitting on this bed holding back the emotions that threatened to spill from him.

Valerie needed to cry. She never did it in front of him, or anyone he didn't think. He knew that she needed to get it out. Misha also needed to deal with what had just happened. Danny stayed quiet for their sake. Of the three, one needed to be the stone so the other two could have their moment.

There was another reason Danny had decided to stay quiet. It was the single fact that he was at the center of everything that had went wrong. He didn't care that Valerie had said SHE didn't care. That didn't change a damn thing.
