Reunion [Active]

Character(s): Rosette, Chrno,  the Doctor, and Luxord in a bit
Content: Rosette and Chrno finally manage to find each other, courtesy of the journals and the Doctor. Unfortunately for them, it doesn't last very long...
Setting: Central Station (J6)
Time: Night
Warnings: None yet

Rosette shifted and woke up as the train slowed to a stop. As excited as she was to see Chrno, the moment she had sat down, exhaustion had won her over and she had slept for the duration of the train ride. It was for the better, she supposed - sitting still for an hour would have driven her absolutely crazy, especially when something like this was at the end of the line waiting for her.

She exited the train car and stood tall, scanning the nearly-vacant train station for her partner and the man who had helped her find him. Hopefully they'd already arrived - she didn't think she could take much more waiting.

It hadn't been hard to find the train station, and after a bit of observation, the Doctor was rather amused to see the currency here seemed to be simply something shiny looking. He'd never really understood the whole thing with money, and never carried any around, although that was something he often thought he should change, but this currency he could work with. Shifting through his pockets, he'd managed to find something that the ticket seller would accept and was able to get a pair of tickets to the central station.

The ride had been long, but the Doctor seemed little bothered by it. He rather enjoyed looking out the window at the city, but he did seem to be in thought. Trying to work out this puzzle still.

Before he'd realized they had arrived and were exiting the train, stepping onto the platform. Well then, all they now had to do was find the girl.

The Doctor had no idea what she looked like, so as he glanced around, he left it to Chrno to lead the way in looking for his contractor.

The train ride was murder to Chrno, who seriously would have prefered to fly all the way there. However, since Rosette was technically here, that would be bad. The whole soul sucking thing and whatnot. And so, he sat as still as he could manage, trying not to whine or whimper or fidget too much.

The stop was reached, and Chrno practically plowed down the stragglers on the train out of the way as he raced off the train, glancing around frantically.

"Rosette!" He gasped, anxiety overwhelming. It had to be her that contacted the Doctor. It had to be.

The lone figure wasn't hard to catch sight of. No time for second doubtings now.

"Rosette!" And so he ran towards her.

Well that was rather fast. Finding his friend had been really relitively easy. So this was... Rosette. The name made something hitch in his throat. Rosette... Rose.

He pushed those thoughts aside and concentrated on watching the two. It appeared to him she was some sort of nun, although... not exactly your average nun, he noted as he watched her grab Chrno around the neck and noogie him.

He didn't interupt as they had their reunion, letting it run it's course before he spoke up. Meanwhile he wondered what to do. How to tackle all this. He would have to investigate the journals further. It was about all he had to go on so far.

[identity profile] fallenfromeden.livejournal.com 2007-04-26 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Naturally, Chrno should have seen this coming. Maybe. It wasn't as if he actually expected Rosette to hug him. It would have been.. normal.

"Owowowow!" Her fist in his skull was rather unpleasant and was quick to give him a headache. Even as he flailed pathetically, he would rather be forced to go through what he was now than be seperated from Rosette a moment longer.

"S-Sorry! I was trying to find you, too!" It was a half truth, but the main truth was very unsettling to be mentioned right away.

The Doctor continued to mind his own business, letting the pair catch up. He'd meanwhile pulled out his journal and had begun to fiddle with it. There was a lot to read. There seemed to be a good bit of information worth looking into on it. He also made a few replies to those who had responded to his post.

What a wealth of different people, all from very different places. Er... what was this? A meerkat named... Timon...? Wasn't that a character from The Lion King...? Nyaaaah, couldn't be. Could it?

It seemed this place was going to prove to be rather interesting indeed.

Time seemed to stop as the portal of darkness appeared behind Rosette.

In fact, time did actually stop around the three individuals in the station plaza. This was, of course, just how Luxord wanted it. It left him plenty of space in which to work.

He was ready to pull the frozen girl back into the portal with him when something he never would have expected came to pass.

[identity profile] sir-doctor.livejournal.com 2007-04-28 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
It took a moment for him to notice, as he'd been quickly reading through the many messages on the journals. Time. Time had stopped. Sometimes it was good to be a Time Lord.

He stayed very still as heard someone behind him. After a moment he slowly turned his head, to peek over his shoulder. A man in black with some sort of portal stood there, and was about to make off with Rosette! What the...?

Jerking into action, the Doctor yelled out, "Hey! YOU! What do you think you're doing?"

[identity profile] dix-des-coeurs.livejournal.com 2007-04-28 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
Luxord stopped short for just a split second. He hadn't made a mistake - he'd made sure of that. Had he found somebody immune to his power?

No worries, he decided. If all else failed, he could just turn this man into a card.

"I'm taking this young lady with me," he smirked. "What does it look like?"

Without waiting for an answer, he brought a still-frozen Rosette into the portal with him - "Have a good evening." - and let it close, allowing time to regain its normal speed of passage.

[identity profile] sir-doctor.livejournal.com 2007-04-28 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Wait! Stop! Let her go!" he cried out, rushing forward, "I said: Let. Her. GO!"

It was not enough and too late. The dark coated man had melted into the portal, and it closed before the Doctor had been able to reach it, and Rosette along with him.

Damn! What had just happened? Who was that? Why had they taken her? How was he able to manipulate time? Questions with no answers filled the Doctor's mind as he turned to look to Chrno.

Time had once more resumed, and without a doubt, Chrno was going to be confused as ever to find Rosette suddenly missing.

[identity profile] fallenfromeden.livejournal.com 2007-04-28 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"I was back at home, waiting for you!" Chrno protested in a whine once freed, rubbing at his throbbing head and jarred brains. "You vanished and we were all looking for you, and.." He trailed off, debating on exactly how much in depth to go in on that story.

That doesn't get debated very long, as suddenly Rosette is.. no longer there.

He stared at blank nothingness for a few seconds, before total panic crossed his face. "Rosette!" No, no no no no! He just found her again, only to have her taken away! What was he going to do now?! "Rosette!" Frantic now, he glanced around helplessly, trying to find some trace of her existance.

"Rosette!"

[identity profile] sir-doctor.livejournal.com 2007-04-28 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Easy! Easy now," the Doctor said coming up behind Chrno, after a moment of recovering from his own surprise.

"I'm sorry, she's gone," he said bluntly and honestly, knowing full well how Chrno was going to feel. He'd gone through things like this many times before. "But we'll get her back!"

Turning he stood over the area where the dark portal had appeared. He couldn't pick up any residual energy... it had come and gone, just like that. He couldn't say he'd seen a portal anything quite like that before either.

"Someone in black just appeared through a portal and meddled with time to grab her," he went on to explain, the gears in his head turning as he tried to figure out exactly how the man had done it.

"I surprised him though... he thought he'd stopped us all... " he said, thoughtfully.

[identity profile] fallenfromeden.livejournal.com 2007-04-29 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Chrno was on the verge of tears, although the Doctor's words manage to keep him from going nuclear entirely. Panic gripped him, still staring out at nothing. Rosette was gone, and he had no idea who or why or how. Back home, it was known who their enemies were, and it would have been easy to storm in and obtain his contractor back.

But here.. he felt so alone and helpless. Then, he realized something. Turning back to the Doctor, Chrno's crimson eyes widened at what he said. He saw who took Rosette?

"You know who took her?" His voice was frantic, although it dropped in volume at the next thing he said. "Do you know anything of the astral line?"

[identity profile] sir-doctor.livejournal.com 2007-04-29 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't know who he was, but I did see him," the Doctor confirmed, turning back to Chrno as the boy questioned him. "You didn't see because he halted time, while he moved normally through it."

"Astral line... astral line..." he echoed thoughtfully. It didn't sound familiar.

The Time Lord shook his head. "No, I can't say I have. What's the astral line?" he asked.

[identity profile] fallenfromeden.livejournal.com 2007-04-29 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"The astral line exists in my world as the plane where souls go when their bodies die." Chrno sighed, looking rather downcast. If he didn't know what it was, then he probably couldn't help. But it couldn't hurt to ask.

"Demons feed off that. It is where our powers come from. Well.. demons with horns, anyway." He sighed again, finding it difficult to give the abridged tale.

"I am a demon. I lost my horns in a fight. And to transform into my true form, I need to.. well.. absorb the astral line. Since my horns help me with that, the only way I can transform is through a contractor." His expression almost turned desperate as he approached the doctor, hands clasped in pleading.

"You don't think that maybe you know of something here, or anywhere, that I could use instead of Rosette's soul? I could find her without risking her life." If the doctor knew how to not be affected by time stopping, then there was a chance...

[identity profile] sir-doctor.livejournal.com 2007-05-07 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
While he did not know of the "astral line" by name, he knew of other such things that sounded similar to what the demon explained through the galaxy.

So that was his connection to the girl, although he had a sense Chrno cared a great deal for her more than her simply being his 'contractor'. He would have questioned why Chrno was feeding off her at all, but it seemed there must be a good reason, since the boy was so detirmed to find something else. He gave Chrno a sympathetic look, since much to his dismay, he didn't know anyway to help the demon's troubles.

"Honestly, Chrno, I don't know off hand how I can help you," he said to the boy quietly, "but, oh, I wish I did."

After a moments pause he looked around again and changed the subject. "There's not much we can do here now... I have no idea where that portal could have led," he said, grimly, "It would probably be best to find somewhere to stay the night and see what we can find out in the morning."

The Doctor had a sense there was something going on here. Something big.

[identity profile] fallenfromeden.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
The answer he received clenched his heart, as panic threatened to consume him. He teetered, a hand moving to his chest, crimson eyes wide with fear. Rosette was in danger, and he couldn't save her. He couldn't even protect her.

Why did this have to happen now?

"R-Right." He managed to studder out, despite the fact that his pulse was racing with adrenaline caused by stress. He wanted to charge into battle but he didn't know who he was up against, and certainly he couldn't call upon his powers.

He'll just.. follow the Doctor around until he can figure something out.

[identity profile] sir-doctor.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
Pulling out the journal he'd been given, he took a quick look at the map, before letting out a 'ah ha!' as he managed to find somewhere they could possibly stay.

"I believe there's a inn not far from here, shall we make our way there?" he suggested to Chrno. There wasn't many other options afterall. It was really late, and while they could take the train back to where the TARDIS was, it'd be the next day when they got there at this point, the Doctor suspected.

Sleep would seem to be in order, and then they could consider how to go abouts tracking down Rosette in the morning.

((orz... I fail so hard for late reply. Con's ate my soul this month... but here's a post... Make a reply to finish it and we'll close this and start a new thread into the next day or two or something? Passing some days would be good idea since Rosette's gonna be gone in game a week... just a though :D ))

[identity profile] fallenfromeden.livejournal.com 2007-07-04 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
((OOC: Grah, I fail, too. Sorry for the late reply. Been busy with work and getting ready for cons and studying for boards. x_x But sure, I'm cool with that.))

Chrno bit on the inside of his lip. Sure, the doctor was good natured in his suggestion, but the last thing on his mind was sleeping. He wanted to run out and find Rosette as quickly as possible, but in his current form he was useless.

And changing was out of the question.

He forced his head to nod as he looked off to the side. Obviously, he was really worried about Rosette, but if there were no other options currently..

"Okay, that sounds like a good idea." It'd only be for a few hours, anyway.

[identity profile] sir-doctor.livejournal.com 2007-07-08 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Right, let's be off then?" the Doctor said, ready to lead the way.

Even the Doctor could see that Chrno's worry would keep him from sleeping. The Doctor would do the same if he was in Chrno's position. In fact, Chrno was probably almost taking it better than the Doctor would have if he had been in Chrno's position. He knew he would have.

He hoped he could help Chrno find Rosette, and get to the bottom of all this.

((No XD;;; We fail together /o/ Okay... with this I'll close the thread and try to start something new tomorrow))
