(23:14:59) Toph: Honestly? It was BORING. Like I wanna stay inside all day being waited on. I can't even see all those nice things you get when you're rich. So what's the point?
(23:25:47) Meerkat Outcast: Well for one, you get all those servants.
(23:26:45) Toph: To keep an eye on me all day so I can't do anything fun? No thanks. I can't even leave the grounds by myself.

(23:27:58) Toph: There's a difference between "safe" and "being kept in the house and not letting you do anything for yourself."
(23:28:56) Meerkat Outcast: Couldn't you have just told them you wanted to do something by yourself then? They obey you, they're your servants.
(23:30:39) Toph: They obey my parents, and my parents tell them to not let me do anything dangerous. Read dangerous as "not do anything that involves the slightest bit of real thinking." I didn't learn my abilities so I could keep them a secret.

(23:33:58) Toph: I'm an Earthbender, and a really good one. If my parents had their way, I would have stayed home under lock and key. They actually thought the because I had this gift I had too much freedom and I should leave the house even less.
