A day on the town... [Completed]
Character(s): Misha, Danny, Valerie, open to all!
Content: Waiting for Valerie to catch up with them, Danny and Misha decide to explore a little more of Paixao.
Setting: General Vanahim area [G5-H5]
Time: Day after this and this, late afternoon
Warnings: Slight language.
Some things were constants in the universe, which was a good thing, given that the universe for many of the denizens in Paixao had just turned itself inside out. Yet there remained certain truths.
One of them was that girls liked to go shopping.
Angel girls were apparently not immune.
"Danny-kun!" Misha practically squealed in excitement, pressing her nose against yet another shop displaying trinkets, toys, games, and other amusing things. "Look at this'su! And this one'su! And look at that'su!"
The fact that they had no money didn't deter her in the slightest. She was content merely to stare at the fascinating things. "They don't have these in Heaven'su!" she proclaimed brightly, pointing at a bicycle. "Danny-kun, what is it'su?"

He had no idea why Valerie had rushed off like that, she didn't give him much, just that she would be back. There wasn't much he could do. He knew Valerie was a big girl and that he felt sorry for anyone one the streets that would try to mess with the ninth-degree-black belt.
After Misha and him had finished off their breakfasts, they decided there wasn't any harm in walking around.
Danny just wasn't quite expecting that "oh my god shopping!" thing that most girls did.
He smiled as she ran from window to window and when she pointed to the one item he put his hands in his pockets and answered, "That's a Bike. You pedal it, and you can go places with it."
no subject
Then she seemed to shake the odd feeling away, smiling again. "Danny-kun," she chirped, "Are you happy'su?"
no subject
Valerie didn’t also mention in her head she wanted to see what might look good: another thing she wanted to ignore was her well meaning shallow side that still thought a few trinkets would brighten the past few days.
“I shouldn’t have taken the money,” Valerie said aloud to herself, facepalming her head. “Timon is right: I am a mook. Well, here’s hoping I can find them in the shopping center.”

He took his hands out of his pockets and crossed his arms casually. He lifted his head up slightly at the sky and seemed to be contemplating the answer.
No he really wasn't all that happy. He watched his family die three days ago, there wasn't much smiling about that.
Although, at the moment, just walking around the town with Misha happily pointing at everything they passed in awe, gave him a sort of contentment he hadn't felt in a while. He could almost believe that things were okay.
He wasn't sure about the answer to her question, but he gave her a smile and then pointed at another store. "what about that one? That one looks neat."
no subject
"Look'su, Danny-kun! It's so pretty'su! There were dresses like this (http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a348/sovietmisaki/285471574.jpg) in Japan'su!" She turned big amethyst eyes on Danny. "Can I get it please'su, Danny-kun?"
no subject
A dress maybe? That might seem like a logical thing to wear in a place like this. She didn't particularly care for wearing dresses too much these days, but they might actually have something she might want. Maybe something in red....
She walked into a store that was selling dresses and, to her surprise, bumped right into a smaller girl holding up a dress. She was startled for a moment, and then slowly realized who it was.
"Misha?"

His eyes widened when someone plowed into the minurature Angel. They got even wider when he saw who it was.
"Val!"
Something was wrong. What had happened to her shirt!? His eyes stared at her stained clothes for a moment and went back up to her. What had she gotten into???
no subject
"I'm sorry guys, I had to, er, take care of a couple of things, but I'm back! I'm so glad that I tracked you guys down again. I'm so sorry I didn't leave you guys these..." Valerie pulled out the jewels she had found before and gave a generous few to Danny and Misha each. She looked at Misha's dress and smiled.
"Oh, that will look great on you!" Valerie smiled broadly, catching Misha in a hug. "Keep looking, I'll bet you find more wonderful things!"
Valerie waited until Misha was out of sight, then turned to Danny. "It's a long story about the clothes, but I'm OK. The thing is, let's make sure we don't hang around to have another dangerous situation: we have to leave Vanaheim."

He knew what going crazy was like.
Val was being vague agian, and promptly told him they had to leave the area completely. Danny crossed his arms. He wanted an explanation, long or not.
He had hoped that she would just come clean eventually but she insisted on keeping him in the dark. He knew that she probably didn't think he was anything other than human, but even then He could still have an inkling as to what was really going on.
He glanced back at Misha and then turned back at her. The blood, the vagueness, it was getting to him. He wanted to know.
"We'll leave," He stated, "As soon as you tell me what happened to your shirt."
no subject
"Have you ever heard of Larxene? She comments on people's journals from time to time, she probably did to yours too. Well two days ago I got wind of her being involved in some injuries that happened to somebody I talk with sometimes, Timon. That and her usual string of insults prompted me to take her up on a challenge of sorts. It was really stupid, knowing what she did to Timon, but a lot of things have been happening that have been bugging me lately, and I wanted some answers. I faced Larxene, and we fought. I didn't get as hurt as Timon, but I got a little electrocuted and then..."
And that was the part that scared Valerie the most. What could she say? That she got possessed and ran away? That somebody besides her took her over and wanted something? That she was scared out of her mind because she didn't even know if she was even herself anymore?
"...Something else happened that I don't feel safe talking about outside. I promise I'll tell you and Misha everything- you're the only ones I trust, and if the time comes, well, you guys could stop it better than I could. For now, though, I don't think its safe in Vanaheim anymore. Please, PLEASE let's leave. It doesn't feel safe here somehow."
no subject
Larxene? Yeah, he's seen her on the journals, and he'd heard about the thing with Timon. She was one demented fruit-loop alright. He didn't pay to much to it (besides worrying about Timon, whom he had still to meet) but when Val said that the she'd had hurt her, eletrocuted her!
Something almost snapped.
An infuriated look spread on his face.
"The only thing you have to tell me, Val, is where she's at so I can--" He was beyond pissed now.
His eyes flashed green for a split second.
no subject
And there was another nagging feeling that was going off in Valerie's head. There were things that Dan had said, that she had seen concerning Danny that was making her wonder if Danny was as harmless as she thought. Dan insisted she was purposely blinding herself, and maybe he was right. Danny seemed to be nothing more than a human escaping from a dangerous ghost, but could there be another reason that Dan was after Danny.
"OK Danny, now WE have to talk. You're hiding something from me too, aren't you? Well I told you what was going to be truthful from now on, but if you're going to keep things from me, that's not very fair. To tell you the truth, the only way we can beat these guys is if we work together, and that means no secrets, OK? What's going on?"
no subject
She'd caught him again.
Dammit, and she was waiting for an explanation, too. Danny's mind raced and he was sure he started to sweat. He wasn't prepared for that. He'd never slipped so bad before.
Well...not this BAD anyways. But then again, Danny's last few days, as stressful as they've been, it made some sense.
Still. Danny. Explanation.
Danny closed his eyes and let out a sigh. He opened them up again and let the words flow from his mouth. He was going to lie, like he'd done so many times before. He'd gotten so good at lying that he didn't even have to think about it anymore, it was a means of survival.
And Danny's survival hinged on Valerie never finding out he was Phantom.
"Its....just a side effect from being around my parents experiments," He started. He stuck his hands in his pockets, he was neverous as hell, and almost shaking, "Sometimes I can do ghost things...It's freaky, but, theres nothing I can do about it."
no subject
Inwardly, Valerie wasn't sure she did. There was something very rushed in the way Danny was talking, like a lie that had just been thought up. Valerie hadn't survived this long to be fooled by a half-hearted explanation. Well, in a way that was just fine. If Danny was going to insist on keeping secrets, she could do the same. She would just have to swear she wouldn't do it to Misha, since a part of her conscience told her it was wrong to lie to an angel anyway.
"Well anyway, let's get going. Vanaheim is getting old, and I want to see where else we can go. And hey, don't overexert yourself, OK? I know it's dumb, but I don't really want you to get hurt."
Valerie blushed a little, and was glad to immediately try to change the subject. "Let's go find Misha, ok?"
no subject
The shopkeeper was very nice and let her try it on, and it seemed to fit just fine! The angel girl liked it even more once she was wearing it, and skipped to the front of the store to show it to her friends.
"Valerie-chan! Danny-kun! Teeheehee, look'su! Do you like it'su?"
no subject
Danny just could absolutly NOT risk Valerie finding out about Phantom. He COULDN'T!
And it about drove him insane on more than one occasion.
He welcomed the sudden change in the converstaion when Misha came running back to them. Oh wow, that dress was beautiful on her. She really did look like an Angel.
At a slight loss for words, Danny opted to just nod.
no subject
She looked over at Danny and winked. "Y'know, you'd do well to take a book out of Misha's book. I mean, you can only wear that same drab shirt for so long. I may not be Miss popularity anymore, but let's face it, you'd look good in something..." She paused, then grinned and grabbed Danny by the shoulders.
"Blue! Yeah, definitely blue! Or maybe green...but we'll start with a new shirt." She looked over at Misha and gave an evil grin. "What do you say we help 'Danny-kun' get something new too?"
She looked over at Danny and gave a very scary but cute puppy-dog stare. "PLEEEEEASE?"
no subject
Even though there had been some bad things that had happened in Paixao, it was a brand new day and it was hard to think of anything bad right now. All Misha cared about was that she was with her friends and they were out having fun.
no subject
"Hey! There's nothing wrong with my clothes!" Danny quickly protested. "This is a great style! It's never failed me before!"
Although, he really couldn't argue with the fact that he'd been in the same out fit for the last three days. Ugh.
So despite all of Danny's reluctance, he didn't put up to much of a fight. Hell, it could even help him hide from Dan if that were at all possible. So he let Misha and Valerie drag him off into the guys section of the shop.
no subject
Valerie emerged, wiping the sweat off her brow. "Phew! It took awhile to find something good in green, but I think we have a winner! What do you think?"
Danny shirt! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/elpedrososama/P8299C.jpg)

"This is fun'su!" she said brightly. "After we get new clothe'su for Danny-kun, we'll get new clothe'su for Valerie-chan, and we'll all have new thing'su!"
"Try it on'su, Danny-kun!" Misha giggled, bouncing joyfully. Nothing brightened a girl's mood like shopping, it seemed! "Please'su?" She wanted Danny to have as much fun as she and Val were having!

When she brought out the shirt he looked it over.
"That's a lot of black..." He observed. The design was nice, though, and he liked that.
Maybe if they could find it in white and red????
He looked down towards Misha and smiled, "Alright, alright I'll try it on." He took the shirt and looked around.
"Wheres the dressing room?"
no subject
She turned to rummage through some of the bins herself until she found a rather interesting combination she'd never considered before: gray and black. "Hmm, I never tired anything in dark colors before, why not give it a shot?" She was surprised to find that there was a similarly gray headband and a sash to match, and looked for some gloves and knee high boots to go with it. This was definitely going to be something new, but Valerie figured if she was going to do something like this, she'd better match. She looked over at Misha, grinned, and went into the dressing room.
"Ugh, I didn't know this dress was going to be so tight...or high!" She groaned. How could Goths stand to wear stuff like this all the time? When she finished hiking up the boots, she stumbled a little and had to lean forward to regain balance. She grimaced, then looked in the mirror. Something was missing.
She went into her backpack and took out a memento from Amity Park especially given to her: earrings by Vlad Masters. She remembered that when he gave them to her, he'd said that they would be eerily familiar to her, but would inspire her nonetheless. It wasn't until she was about to leave Amity park that she recalled why they were familiar in the first place: it was the symbol of the ghost kid that he wore as an emblem! Still, it did inspire Valerie in a way: it was like a symbol of the old her that shot first and asked questions later. In retrospect, that would have been smart when she dealt with Larxene instead of worrying Danny and Misha half to death.
She stumbled out of the dressing room and landed in a heap. Misha giggled a little and Valerie frowned, dragging herself up to a full height.
“Well? What do you (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/elpedrososama/Gothic_Glamour_Spoiler_by_WingsofMo.jpg) think?"
no subject
She had to admit, it was quite a change. Where Misha had gone for a dress that was quite frilly and extravagent, Valerie had chosen one sleek and close-fitting. It was just... quite different. So different that the pink-haired one stopped giggling and just tilted her head to regard the other girl.
"It look'su..." she said thoughtfully. "It makes you look like you are important'su, Valerie-chan."
no subject
He decided to go out and show it off to the girls regardless.
When he stepped out though, he had to keep his chin from hitting the floor. Valeries out fit. Holy crap.
He'd never thought he'd see her in such an outfit, and its flat out similarity to Phantoms costume startled him.
"D'uhhm..." He said intelligently.
no subject
"I definitely don't feel important, I feel like I'm going to break my legs any minute!" She laughed, in spite of herself. She couldn't help it, but even though she felt weird in it, the attire actually made her feel pretty good. She hadn't felt so, well, self aware in awhile, and she liked it. She hobbled over to the mirror and saw with a start that she actually had curves, and the clothing made it so other people saw she had them too. Valerie did her best to suppress a secret smile edging from the corner of her lips, and she turned around and saw Danny staring.
Valerie was startled. She had forgotten how good Danny had looked since, well, her mind had been occupied but many other things in Paixao, but there was no denying it now. Danny had actually looked really good when he wasn't wearing light colors all the time, and the shirt made him look almost regal.
Valerie remembered what she was wearing and felt her face grow hot. She muttered something incoherent, then look up at Danny. "I hope you like your shirt! Is my outfit ok?"
no subject
Maybe they like each other, like Kobashi-chan and Kotarou-kun? Misha wondered. She had to block a spike of sadness... she'd wanted Kotarou-kun to like her, the way Kotaroh had, but he never did.
So she took the chance, while they were gaping at each other, to sneak up to the front of the store. The shopkeeper had been very nice to let her put her To-Heaven box behind the counter, and now she went digging through it until she found what she was looking for.
"Excuse me'su," Misha said to the shopkeeper. "We like your clothes very much'su! Is it okay'su, if we buy all the things we're wearing'su? I want to pay for my friend'su too."
The shopkeeper just nodded and Misha handed over something small and shiny. She'd done a lot of reading on Paixao and it seemed barter was quite an acceptable form of currency here. And a pair of her pretty earrings were certainly fair trade for such nice clothes for her, Danny, and Valerie.
"They're gift'su!" the angel girl preened, meaning the clothes. "So please don't ask'su my friends pay for their new clothes'su, okay'su?"
no subject
Well, atleast he'd managed to sound half-way coherent.
In an attempt to not sound anymore retarded he opted to look around quickly for Misha. He found to his dismay that she had vanished. Where had that Angel gotten off to?
"Um, Misha?? Misha, where'd you go??" He asked looking around some more. He looked back at Valerie. "Did you see her leave?"
no subject
Valerie trailed off. She was suddenly getting a feeling, a very BAD feeling, that felt familiar to her. She would have liked that feeling to go, but this was screaming rather loudly in her thoughts. There were several things Valerie knew by now that she could trust: she learned that spontaneity wasn't one.
But fear was.
"Danny," Valerie slowly. "We need to get Misha. We need to get Misha, and we need to get the HELL out of here."
There was little doubt in Valerie's mind what was going down and she swore violently at herself. Damn it all! They shouldn't have lingered here, she should have gotten them out sooner!
She spotted Misha and saw that the girl had paid for their clothing, and even stricken with fear, Valerie couldn't help but crack a nervous smile.
She ran ahead of Danny and whispered into Misha's ear.
"Aw, thanks sweetie! That's so nice of you! Listen, um, I think we really need to go and take Danny out of here, because if we don't we might meet that scary guy we saw in my dreams. He really wants to hurt Danny, so let's him and us out of here."
Valerie said this quickly through clenched teeth just as Danny caught up with them. Valerie sighed a little inside. Anything to get us out of here. I'm in no shape to fight after Larxene, and I'm still in this crazy outfit!
no subject
"The bad person'su?" Misha said, her eyes widening. She had hoped that after their last battle in Valerie's dream, Dan would not come after them again. But apparently, Dan was as stubborn as
Nyaa-sanany of the demons Sacchun used to complain about.Shia-chan excluded, of course"Where are we going to go'su?" she asked, looking around.
We were having a good day'su! Why do bad people want to find'su us? she thought unhappily. We haven't done anything wrong'su!
And she was a little afraid of what might happen if she felt her friends were threatened again. That magenta light that had come out of Misha during the dream battle wasn't something that angels were supposed to do -- or be able to do.
She took out her map. "We should go back'su," she said, "to where we were'su!" She meant the area of the Cheap Prayer, to the west. "It's busy'su... maybe we can get lost'su..." That was, where Dan wouldn't be able to find them. If it had been safe once, wouldn't it be again?
"Danny-kun!" she called. "Come on'su!"
[OOC: I believe we're all jumping over to this thread (http://community.livejournal.com/paixaorpg/250460.html) so I'm going to mark this one as Completed.]
