Get Well Soon [Completed]

Character(s): Timon, Kir, Flonne, Laharl, Kovu, Pumbaa, and Misa.
Content: Timon receives a visit from his companions after being separated from them for a period of time.
Setting: Havasu Medical Center [M7]
Time: Evening
Warnings: None

Second floor, down the hall, to the right. They were fairly simple directions, even before the proper room number was given. Finding Timon's room would be even easier if he had been awake. His loud voice, carrying on throughout the floor a dead give away. Perhaps Kir's vocals would make up for the absents as the meerkat slept.

Curled up in the white fabric, he lay peacefully caught in his dreams. Part of the blanket covered his lower half, hiding a majority of the damage caused to his frail body. His unharmed leg stretched out, exposed to the room along with his bandages paws. Though with his head down and resting on top of them they were some what difficult to spot. His tail pounded against the mattress as if it were a drum. His awkward purr mixed snore filled the room as the smile across his lips spread all the further.

Kir had occupied himself between checking his journal, and watching the snow fall outside the window. It was getting later in the day and dusk had already fallen. It was quiet, the only sound being Timon's soft snore-purring, and Kir was left with the task of waiting up for the meerkat's cuddies to show up whenever they were going to.

The room, even though it wasn't really that small, felt cloying. He longed to open a window just for the fresh air, but knew the cold would wake Timon, and the meerkat just looked so peaceful that he didn't feel right in disturbing him. Actually, Timon just looked downright cute, all snuggled into the bed like that.

Besides, he thought with a sigh, it ain't the room that's the problem. Wish I could take a quick glide out there, even if it is snowin'...

Well, perhaps the arrival of Timon's friends would provide adequate distraction.

Laharl had been able to track down Flonne, and not having any idea where they others had went and since he didn't particularly care, he dragged Flonne along to the hospital where he suspected Timon was.

Stupid, stupid meerkat... going off to meet that Larxene. Why go put yourself in danger like that for friends? How stupid! ... At least, that's what Laharl was trying to think, but deep down, though he tried to deny it and certainly wouldn't easily ever admit it, the demon knew he would have very likely done the same... HOWEVER, there was a major difference... he would not be the one in a hospital now.

He had figured they might as well see what state he was in. Give him some idea what he was dealing with. (And... maybe a.. little make sure Timon didn't die or something... maybe.) He hoped Larxene would come have a shot at him... he would enjoy proving her wrong. If she was underestimating him as much as it felt like to him she was, he would definitely prove her wrong. Heck, he'd like to make everyone in this damn place realize they ought to fear him, but the question was how? Other than dropping a meteor on the place... Well, he'd think of something eventually.

It hadn't been hard to get instructions on where to find their room. A 'foot tall, rat looking thing' was all the description it took to get them, so they were soon at the door of the room that Laharl simply pushed open without bothering to knock.

"MR. MEERKITTY!" Flonne cried, hurrying past Laharl and into the room where the injured Meerkat was rumored to be staying.

The fallen angel wasted very little time in ushering herself to the bedside of the poor creature, eyes wide and filled with both fear and tears. It didn't matter that she hadn't really spoken to Timon yet; what mattered was that he was injured and had been all alone. Of course, had Flonne actually paused to look around the room for a second, she might have realized that he actually had had company, but her emotions were too pressing to allow for such time.

"Ooh, what happened to him!" She sank down so that she was about eye level with Timon, hovering slightly over him with a look of clear concern. Her volume was lowered just a little bit then, as his dreamstate registered. Flonne's tail lowered then. "Oh..."

Kir turned around to regard the two new people who had burst into the room without knocking. Thankfully he recognized both of them from the hotel, Laharl and that pretty girl whose name he hadn't caught.

So much for waking Timon up ahead of time, the ex-avian thought, watching Flonne hurry over to the meerkat with a loud yell. That takes care of that.

He was just about to open his mouth to object, say maybe Timon could use the rest, when his journal bleeped softly at him. To his utter shock and relief, it displayed a message from Jing. It took the boy only a few minutes to confirm that they were both fine, they'd simply wound up on opposite ends of the city, and a meeting was thus arranged.

Thank god, Kir thought, now I can stop worrying. He felt as though ten pounds had just been lifted, and in a considerably better mood, turned back towards the others to see what was going on.

The blue-haired demon shook his head to himself as Flonne dove ahead of him. He half-heartedly gave the door a push-shut behind him as he followed up behind Flonne, giving Kir a quick glance of recognition. So... that's where he'd gotten to.... hn.

Stepping up beside Flonne, he gazed over Timon for a moment wondering exactly what she had done to him. It wasn't apparent since he was rather covered though.

As Timon woke and spoke, Laharl folded his arms as he gazed down at him, "Hmph, I said we were going to stop here, remember?"

He then glanced to Flonne, addressing her, "Oi Flonne, crying won't damn well do anything... Just cast a cure spell of some sort."

[identity profile] heavens-flower.livejournal.com 2007-02-27 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Flonne beamed at the bewildered Meerkat and gave him a gentle pat on the head, fingers moving to scratch behind his ears all too affectionately. She was about to begin earnestly pleading with the Meerkat to remain alive when Laharl spoke, resulting in the cessation of ear scratching and a few quaint blinks upon her part.

"Oooh, yeah!" She exclaimed, standing a bit quickly. "Okay, Mister Meerkitty...this won't hurt a bit!"

Clasping her hands before her, the fallen angel closed her eyes and bowed her head. Kerykeion wasn't needed for this particular spell; it was one she could do on her own. Hushed words fell from her lips--a brief speel of the Angelic tongue--before light encompassed the group, filling the room like cold milk might fill an empty glass to go with oven-fresh cookies. It was warm and bright, her final words providing the finishing touch...something about the "Power of Love"...

Kir couldn't help but have rolled his eyes when Timon sat up in bed, already blaming him for the noise in the room before he realized it was his own visitors making the commotion.

He returned Laharl's look with a slight shrug; he was more interested in watching Flonne, especially as the girl began casting a spell. The way it filled up the room definitely compensated for the chilliness outside, and if he was only feeling the ambient effects just from being in the same room, he could only imagine it must have felt that much better for Timon. Well, good... hopefully that'll pick him right back up.

"Your guests have arrived," he said dryly, not that it really needed to be said, but he felt like needling Timon a bit by following his instructions, however belated it was. "You should wake up an', you know, say hi or somethin'."

Laharl waited for Flonne to do her thing, rolling his eyes a bit at Timon's stupid worries. A third arm? The hell?

As the spell went off, he felt the familiar feeling of Flonne's magic filling the air. He had felt it many times by now, and knew it very well. He was used to it enough that her mutterings of love to perform the spell didn't bother him much.

His eyes were on the meerkat however, looking curiously at the placement of his bandages, but he didn't get a long look before they were tossed to the bed and the meerkat's rather excited celebration began. Even Laharl couldn't help but smirk a little.

The smirk soon faded though and was replaced with exasperation as Timon's happiness was cut short with a trip to the floor. "Idiot.." Laharl muttered under his breath as he looked down upon the meerkat.

"So, we might as well hear it. What the hell happened?" he questioned.

[identity profile] heavens-flower.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
There it was, that warm feeling that never failed to declare itself after a successful cast of that particular spell. She blinked as the meerkat, concern touching her gaze once more as she dropped to both knees and leaned in a bit to examine the meerkat. The fallen angel had been about to speak, but Laharl spoke up, causing her to look to him.

Flonne turned her eyes to Timon again, wringing her hands in anticipation. "What did happen? You were hurt very badly..."

[identity profile] lostwings-kir.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Kir let off a short chuckle when Timon fell on the floor. It was such a change after seeing him injured that he couldn't resist. It was a good thing to see.

Well, that didn't take long, he thought when Laharl questioned what had happened. Actually, he was curious to learn about how much Timon would tell the others -- and it Kir himself would learn anything he hadn't known already.

You have no idea... Kir mused at Flonne's observation. If they'd seen him like he'd been that night...

He kept quiet, just grabbing a chair and turning it around backwards to sit and listen.

A grumble in his stomach reminded the overlord how he hadn't yet eaten today. The thought of food, free food at that, was tempting. Very very tempting. But the question was could how patient would Etna be? Not that he really cared about leaving her waiting for awhile, but he supposed pissing her off this soon wouldn't be exactly the best of ideas and hanging around here all day certainly hadn't been in his plans. Although still... food.

"Hmph, I did say couldn't stay stick around long, recall?" he responded, oblivious of the meerkat's nervousness, "Flonne and I have to go find Etna, so just get on with it..."

He hesitated a moment as his stomach grumbled again in protest, "But if there's food... maybe Etna can wait a little."

Marching across the city starving wouldn't really do after all, now would it?

[identity profile] heavens-flower.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
There was no doubt about it; Laharl's stomache trumped a full-fleged dragon's roar any day! The blonde blinked a few times at the Overlord before beginning the process of formulating one of those popular "oh-please-can-we-please!" statements, but was stopped short. A wide smile plastered itself upon her face as she turned to Timon, motioning to her shoulder. The least she could do was offer him a ride to the food, if he was hungry.

Even though she had healed him herself, she wasn't too fond of the thought of the Meerkat overexerting himself. His injuries had been far from minor.

"Will you tell us your story then?" Flonne inquired, curiosity evidently piqued. Her tail moved from side to side haphazardly, extended a little further than it usually would have been.

[identity profile] lostwings-kir.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Kir opened his mouth to protest that he hadn't brought back THAT much food to feed four people -- he hadn't realized he'd been in charge of feeding the little stragglers that came wandering in -- then he just shook his head and pointed at the bag of food.

"Yeah, I went shopping for food since Timon's a pretty bad homemaker," he smirked. "There's sandwiches an' fruit an' stuff in there... help yourself, I guess."

He just doesn't want to tell them, the ex-albatross realized. And that made sense, since Timon hadn't even wanted to post in his journal like Kir had suggested, and had wanted to keep the whole thing under wraps. Given how the journal post had probably led to the current 'open house' for visitors, Kir suspected he was at least partially to blame.

"'Sides," the boy continued, looking at Laharl and Flonne. "Why're you askin' for a play by play about it? It's pretty obvious what happened if you use your brain! Quit acting like it's a bedtime story, huh?"

Laharl might have gotten distracted momentarily by food, but it hadn't changed the fact he still was interested in finding out what had gone on last night. He had every intention of fighting her, so since the opportunity of possibly learn something about her was present, he would be stupid not to press for information.

Hearing Kir's remark, he turned, fixing a deep glare on Kir, "Shut up." Sure, he could imagine a bit of what happened, but that didn't really offer him anything to actually go on.

Then glanced over his shoulder, giving Timon an almost equally harsh glare, "Oi, I'd like to know, so I have some idea what I might be up against when I go to wipe the floor with that Larxene."

Meanwhile as he spoke, he moved in the direction of the indicated bag, and after fishing around in it a moment, pulled out a sandwich. Unwrapping it he added, "Like what sort of weapon she has. Useful stuff like that, geez..." before taking a bite.

[identity profile] heavens-flower.livejournal.com 2007-03-08 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
The Meerkat's attempts were successful. His claws did no damage, but resulted in a small fit of giggles that were hardly suppressed by a dainty hand over the mouth. It was the mention of 'wiping the floor' that caused her to pause and turn her eyes to Laharl who, similarly to herself, had food on the mind...or stomache.

"You're going to fight her!?" Flonne half-blurted the statement, eyes growing steadily larger as her hands were partially drawn up. The only thing that kept her from rapidly jerking at an extreme was the presence of the Meerkat on her shoulder. Food suddenly wasn't so important.

[identity profile] lostwings-kir.livejournal.com 2007-03-08 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Kir returned Laharl's glare with one of his own, obviously not impressed by the shorter one's attempt to be intimidating.

He didn't see why Timon said he was going to stick around these guys. After all, it hadn't been Timon's friends that had gone out in the middle of a damn snowstorm looking for him, but an almost complete stranger. And now it sounded like Laharl had stopped by the hospital just as a courtesy and not out of any real concern -- hadn't he been complaining they'd be late to see this "Etna" just a moment ago?

The ex-albatross snorted when the shrimp Laharl said he was going to fight Larxene, even though he was aware that appearances could be deceiving. "Nice of you to have sent someone in for reconnaissance ahead of time," he said coldly.

[personal profile] overlords_wrath 2007-03-09 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
If a curtesy visit was what Kir thought Laharl and Flonne's visit was, then it seemed Laharl's masking of his actual intentions, whatever they were... the overlord hadn't quite figured that out himself, was working. He really wasn't quite sure exactly why he'd wanted to check on Timon... well, maybe he was slightly concerned... a tiny bit... maybe. Well, whatever. He'd told Timon that the he owed a debt for that empty bed and needed to make sure the meerkat didn't go and die. THAT was the reason. Yup.

Twitch, twitch... a muscle beneath Laharl's eye twitched multiple times as everyone responded to him. His very short fuse burned away, and exploded.

"SHUT THE HELL UP!" he snapped, his long locks of hair bolting upright, and his eyes glowing yellow in anger. His, now golden gaze, locked on Kir. "What the hell are you talking about?!" he snarled, "I would have gone with the idiot if I'd known he was going to face that Larxene!"

"Graaaaagh! I'm a DEMON OVERLORD, DAMNIT!" he continued to yell, eyes now on Timon, "You think I can't take on a puny human?!" A clenched fist pounded against the table in anger and frustration, a deep dent and crack in the polished wood.

With a couple deep breaths, his hair relaxed, and the glow left his eyes, returning to their regular crimson. "Of course I'm fighting her," he huffed at the meerkat, wondering even why Timon was talking to him like a child... hell, why Timon suddenly sounded like he... cared or something.

"She's the one who's been a fool to underestimate me," he grumbled, as he pushed aside his thoughts of Timon's slightly odd reaction. "She knows something about what's going on, I'm damn sure of it, so I'm going to beat it out of her."

His gaze fell across Flonne, reminding him she was there. Wait, right! Flonne was there. Flonne, more than anyone in this room, knew what he was capable of. She was always telling him she believed in him and other such crap like that. A flicker of gladness for her presence passed over him. Screw them if they didn't want to believe him. They could think whatever the hell they wanted. He didn't care. They'd realize they were wrong, like everyone else in this damn place, when Larxene was the one laying in a hospital - if she was that lucky.

"... Whatever. Come on Flonne... If you're hungry, eat something, then let's just go," he grumbled, looking at his, now rather squashed, sandwich with disdain.

[identity profile] heavens-flower.livejournal.com 2007-03-14 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
There was nothing like tension and a good bit of yelling to nearly obliterate one's appetite. Flonne had taken to a sandwich and had been fairly well into it when the erruptions began....

The sandwich was discarded after a moment, crimson eyes flickering softly. "Laharl..."

[identity profile] lostwings-kir.livejournal.com 2007-03-14 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Kir rolled his eyes at Laharl's over-the-top reaction. Demon overlord? If he says so... he thought. He was more than a little annoyed that the food he'd got had been wasted since the sandwich had gotten squished.

"Well," he said sarcastically, "I'm sure 'the idiot' appreciates that you'd have gone with him."

Why on earth had Timon waited around for these guys? Well, it wasn't his place to try and fix the situation. Instead he addressed his comment to Timon. "Well, if you're feeling better, I guess you're going with them? Good luck."
