Lost ray of sunshine [complete]
Characters: Amaterasu (and possibly anybody else if they want to join)
Content: You know, entry post blah blah...
Setting: Joutenheim gate
Time: Early evening
Warnings: Absolutely none :D
It felt like she'd been asleep for only a short while. Yet apparently in that short span of time a lot of things had changed.
When Amaterasu woke, she was confused at this rather sudden change of surroundings. Hadn't it been snowing only a short while ago? There was some chill here, but nothing near what she had been experiencing before. Besides, she didn't recall falling asleep so close to what appeared to be a city. She felt extremely odd at the moment – and rightfully so, she found out a moment later, when she realized there was no need for her to walk around on all fours anymore.
How strange, she thought, as she brought up her paw - more like a hand now - in order to feel her face. She wondered what could have caused this, as she hadn't had any sort of human-like form ever since she'd fallen from the Celestial Plain so long ago. The wolf was the form she'd taken in the mortal world - so if she wasn't human, and yet wasn't a wolf anymore, then what kind of place was this?
There was something else amiss here. Her inch-high companion was missing and was nowhere in sight or sound. That just made things even stranger; it wasn't like Issun to be this quiet, or even to wander off to anywhere without her. Gazing at the crowd of people in front of her, she wondered if somehow he'd been taken away - but even that seemed unlikely, as she was certain she would have heard anything if he'd been kidnapped. Besides, it wasn't like anybody would have wanted to kidnap somebody like him in the first place.
She hated the multiple questions that now whirred through her head, and which she had no answers for yet. She headed for the impressive gate that stood a short distance in front of her, mingling in with the crowd; she gained a few glances at her appearance, but not much more than that. It wasn't like she was too out of place here, what with the variety of people that seemed to be gathering here.
"Name?" came the voice of the gatekeeper as her turn came up.
There was a pause before she gave her answer. "Amaterasu," she said, sounding as if she were uncertain of how to speak. A couple hundred years of not needing to use words tended to do that to people.
The gatekeeper handed her a strange rectangular contraption. "Here you go, enjoy your stay at Paixao," he told her.
Paixao... Amaterasu thought. How strange that I've never heard of this place. She carefully walked through the gate, still getting used to walking on two legs again.

The oddities of the place, the people and those trapped here had no escaped her. Her own predicament that was shared by many (though, curiously, not all) was frustrating.
She was staring up at the gate at the moment. Nothing seemed to have changed since she entered. Nothing about her had changed either, which was reassuring.

Her gaze drifted to the woman staring at the gate. It was the very fact that she was looking at it (which was something different from what everyone else was doing) that had caught the former wolf's attention. Amaterasu couldn't help but glance as well back at the gate, and when she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary (or so she thought, since she wasn't entirely sure what passed as "normal" here), she stared at the woman for a moment, still wondering what exactly she might be looking at.

She wondered if the locals would be pissed off if she tore down the gate. It would be fairly difficult, judging from how it was made. Almost impeccably.

She did a quick check to see what she actually still had on her, and looked faintly concerned for a moment when she realized that the majority of her supplies were missing. All the food she'd had on her, all her items, even all her money...gone. Well, that would be a bit of a setback - hopefully not too bad of one. At least she wasn't unarmed here.
"I do not know about the gate," she finally said to Wanda. "But if I may, I do have a question to ask. I am most unfamiliar with this city, and as such I would like to know the best place from where I can get acquainted with its layout. Would you happen to know where I could find that?"

Wanda had gone through much of the similar thought processing as Amaterasu. Check her supplies, see where she was... and well, it had all not really helped.
"We're not where you'd think we were, by any means. I'm Wanda," She held out a hand.

Ammy stared at Wanda's hand for a moment. "I am Amaterasu," she replied, looking back at Wanda's face. "A pleasure to meet you. If this place is not where I think it could be, then where is it?"
The wind that had picked up around here whipped the edges of her kimono around slightly, and a bit of rain tried to soak its way through it. She flicked her ears at what sounded - and looked - like an oncoming thunderstorm.

"The journals can contact people and... well, some are more helpful than others," That was said with a bit of an ironic smirk.

She just had to explore this 'paixao' - yes, that was the only proper course of action. A smirk tugged at the corner of her mouth as the desire to look around this place suddenly filled up inside of her. Yes, she would have to go see for herself what things were truly like here, regardless of what the weather might be like.
"Thank you very much for your information," she said, turning around as if she were about to leave. "It should be most helpful eventually..."
