Ansem waited patiently as Kadaj approached and spoke with the weather mage. They spent more time than he would have expected in conversation, but perhaps it was necessary to gain her trust. The only thing that concerned him was that, should the boy fail to do so, he might be at risk from her powers. And so he watched carefully, ready to intervene should it become necessary.

Finally, his little peacock was leading her to him, looking very pleased with himself. The final presentation Kadaj made was charming.

"Trisana Chandler," Ansem said, stepping forward with a toothy smile. "How tired you must be after exerting yourself in fruitless effort looking for your siblings. Your search is ended now. Sleep."

On the last word, Ansem stretched out his arm to her, flinging a powerful spell in her face, and rendering her immediately unconscious. Gracefully he stepped forward and caught her on one arm before she could fall to the ground. Ansem tossed her carelessly over one shoulder and looked back at Kadaj.

"Well done, my love. Admittedly not much of a challenge, but we must amuse ourselves where we can."

He held his hand out to the boy so that they might return through the Gate to the laboratory together.
