There's probably a good reason I feel I've missed something 'end-of-the-world-ish' [complete]
Character(s): Danny, Misha, and Valerie.
Content: Danny wakes up from a seemingly peaceful sleep.
Setting: Haja o Que Houver, Vanaheim [F4]
Time: Morning, after the dreamscape incident with Dan, Misha, and Valerie.
Warnings: None just yet.
Well, that was a pleasent surprise.
For the first time in a long time, Danny had a nice peaceful, uninterrupted sleep and it wasn't aided by a certain pink haired Angel. He opened his eyes, carefully letting the light spill in. After sitting up he stretched and looked around his surroundings. He was in that hotel room, the one they had gotten the day before. Hopefully their plan had worked and Dan was at a loss as to their location.
Placing to socked feet on the ground he scratched his head and realized something was different.
Where was that irritating sound of pouring rain?
And there was sun?
Guess the rain finally cleared up. He walked over to the window to look. He instently regretting putting his hands up to the pane as they felt like they were atleast hot enough to cook an egg on. What in the world?
What was WITH this place?
Turning back around, Danny finally caught a glimpse at something that was awkwardly out of place.
Was that Misha's bunny-hairribbon-thing? When did that get there? Maybe Misha had put it there last night, it sounded like something she would do.
Coming a little closer to it, he noticed that it appeared to be alive???

Bunny-chan sat on the nightstand. When Danny moved, it moved too, so that it always faced him. Watching.
Without warning, it silently lifted up off the nightstand and floated about six inches away from his face.
Still staring.
Very creepy.
no subject
That was the only thing Danny could respond with as the freaky looking bunny thing floated up like a possessed doll.
As it came mere inches from his face he was begining to become slightly unnerved. Carefully he held out his hands and took the bunny from the air.
He probably should go give it back to Misha.
So with that resolve he walked out of his room (not bothering with freshening up) and headed to Misha's door. After racking his mind for the room number, he found it and knocked softly.
no subject
She opened the door and grumbled a "Yes," and saw it was Danny. "Oh yeah, the bunny," she muttered. "I guess you can come in."
no subject
He nodded when she told him he could come inside. He walked in and saw Misha sleeping on the bed. That didn't really surprise him since the little Angel had a habit of appearing in others beds.
He nelt down over to her and carefully placed Bunny-chan under her arm so to sleep with her. He smiled and got back up.

"Shia-chan," she murmured sleepily, and kept dreaming.
no subject
Suddenly her eyes registered Danny Fenton, and realized that she had greeted him in little more than light cloth and shorts. She blushed and tried to compose herself.
"Uh, sorry about that, I'm bad at waking up," She stammered, rushing into the bathroom. "Er, I'll be out in a minute! Just freshing up!"
Freshning up, Valerie thought to herself. The ultimate female "get-out-of-awkward-situation-free" card.
no subject
He let out a yawn that was followed by the waking-up-shudder and turned his gaze back to Misha.
What was that she just murmured? 'Shia-chan'? That's what it sounded like to him. He had to think back to the day where the two first met. He realized that this wasn't the first time he's heard that name. Was it someone she was close with? Probably. It might have been a best friend or something back at Heaven or so. That made sense.
Danny leaned back in his chair and waited.
no subject
She saw Danny sitting in one of the chairs. Had she gone into Danny's room again in the middle of the night??? She really needed to stop doing that!
"Danny-kun?" she asked sleepily. "Did I wake you up'su? Where's Valerie-chan?"
no subject
Valerie knew it was better to keep yesterday's events in the back of her mind, and Misha would do her best to do the same. In the meantime, she had to wash her face and comb the snarls out of her hair: looking this disheveled, poor or rich, would always be a no-no.
no subject
He looked up as Valerie called out, musing, that answered Misha's second question. He brought his eyes down once again to Misha and rocked slightly in his chair.
"So, whats the plan for today?"
no subject
she also completely missed the irony of that.)"Ummm'su," she said, looking over her shoulder at her wings. They flexed a little, sparkled, and seemed to melt away. Misha gave a big, relieved smile. "They're okay now'su," she said. "So nobody will see them'su!" And while Valerie was in the bathroom, she added quietly, "Thank you for making them vanish'su, Danny-kun."
But given what had happened the night before, she didn't think Haja o Que Houver was far enough away from Dan. Nope, not even close. Looks like they were going to have to move again.
"Hey'su," she said brightly, looking at the window. "It stopped raining'su!"
no subject
"It stopped raining alright, and now its pretty hot, so we better grab some water, food and start moving again. I don't have a clue where we're going, but my gut is telling me it won't be too smart to stay in the same place."
She caught Misha's eye when she said this, and the two shared a knowing look. There was no way they were staying in one place if they suspected Dan was on his way.
no subject
His eyes went for a moment to Valeries and then to Misha when she added that last bit quietly. He gave her a knowing smile and stoop up as Valerie came out of the bathroom.
He tilted his head at what she said. "Leave? We just got here, why do we have to leave?"
That was wierd. Dan didn't attack him last night, everything seemed to be going without a hitch save for the rain. He crossed his arms a bit and looked at Val. He wanted to know what was on her mind.
no subject
"Look at the map'su!" she chirped. "There are lots of places we can go'su! Paixao is really big'su!"
no subject
Privately, Valerie wasn't only trying to protect Misha and Danny: she really did want to know about those things moving about in Paixao. As far as she knew, this place was her new home, and so long as she was here, she had to find out about the goings on.
"Besides, who knows how long this weather will last? We might as well enjoy it!"
no subject
Did he totaly miss something?
Although he could understand the reasons they were giving him, he still wanted to maybe sit for a day and try to rest. Ever since he came to Paixao he'd been doing nothing but running around. It was for Obvious reasons but this time, it didn't make a lot of sense.
But then again, he couldn't stick around in the town for long. He needed to get to the bottom of all this, and he needed to get home and clear his name. Even if he was the one who killed them.
Danny nodded finally, agreeing to their plan.
But he was still sure something was up. Danny had a history with Paranoia, this was of no exception.

Then again, the angel girl looked different too. Since her other dress had been damp still, she was wearing her cute little school uniform (http://www.db-future.de/Anime/Bilder/pitaten.jpg). It was quite a change, especially the short skirt!
Then her stomach growled.
"Can we get something to eat'su?" Misha asked sheepishly. After all, aside from the muffin that Valerie had brought her, she hadn't eaten in something like two days.
no subject
"Well, if we want to get a bite to eat somewhere nearby, I guess we could try the soup kitchen, but I think we ought to give 'The Cheap Prayer' a shot. It's pretty dark there so it isn't like we have to worry about people watching us, and the food is supposed to be pretty good. As long as we don't get anything from the bar, I'm pretty sure they'll let us in!"
Valerie didn't add that she also was seriously considering finding some kind of lake or something and taking a swim later, but hoped that it might come up from the other two. That was she wouldn't seem as pushy about it.
no subject
The Cheap Prayer, huh? Well, maybe the food won't taste like how the name sort of sounds.
Oh what did he care? He was hungry, cheap or no, he wanted to go eat.
"Alright, let's head out then. I guess we can plot out our next destination while we eat breakfast." He looked to Valerie and then to Misha, who, by the way, was wearing a rather interesting outfit. What was that? A sailor costume? Wow, it looked cute on her.
Danny shook his head and turned his head back to their general attention. He waited for the others to get ready, seeing how he came into Paixao with nothing but the clothes onhis back.

It was far hotter outside than inside, and whereas everything had been soaked by the rain before, everything now drooped in the oppressive heat. People moved sluggishly up and down the streets, seeming rather unlively. "so strange'su," the pink-haired girl said, looking around. Of course, not being human, the extreme temperature didn't affect her nearly as much, but even she thought it was intense.
With the aid of the map brocheure that Misha carried (she was still bound and determined to bring a copy to Timon, some day soon) they navigated through Vanaheim. As best they could tell, they were moving in a more or less southern direction.
When they found The Cheap Prayer, Misha stared rather dubiously at it. Naïve though she may have been, the run-down looking building, with the questionable characters loitering around the outside, gave her pause.
Tugging Valerie and Danny to stand under the shade cast by the tall watertower adjacent to the building, she asked, "Are you sure this is a good place'su, Valerie-chan, Danny-kun?"
no subject
"We'll be fine as long as we don't try to order anything alcoholic," Valerie said, waving her hand impatiently. "Besides, we're here for the food, not the ambiance. If somebody gets a little too familiar with us, I'll flip them right out the window...and I guess, Danny will give them a stern talking to."
She glanced at Danny and grinned so he knew she was just joking with him. She knew the place was out of their comfort zone, but at the moment she wanted to take a break from the heat herself.
Walking in, she was happy to see that it was dark enough to be private and not half as bad as the outside. The tapestry left her awestruck, and while the people didn't look friendly, it wasn't an entirely picking a fight unfriendliness. If anything, Valerie would have said it mirrored them more them (well, she and Danny) more than anything: move in silently, eat politely, leave unnoticed. In Valerie's opinion, she could wait until they got outside again to be social. In the meantime, she could eat and admire the walls.
"Well, I guess we better start ordering," Valerie said, faking a sunny disposition.
no subject
Were they even old enough to come in here??
Oh well, if no one was saying anything then they could eat there. He sat down oddly at one of the rickety old tables and picked up what looked to be a menu, or perhaps it was an old napkin
They looked similar.
He scanned it, not looking to hopeful. "No muffins..."
no subject
She didn't know why this place was called a "prayer", though. Maybe the people here prayed for a nicer building? Maybe she had something in her To-Heaven box to help them! Maybe some magic tape. So she picked up the box, put it in her lap, and started rummaging through it, humming to herself.
"Teeheehee," she said. "Oooh, look'su. This is where I put that'su. And these, they're not broken'su? Yay'su!"
She did come across something interesting, and pulled out a pair of glasses. "Look'su, Danny-kun, Valerie-chan!" She offered them to Valerie. "Put them on'su!"
no subject
She was beginning to feel free to ignore the laptop in her hand, because there was a certain somebody she was trying to ignore as well as another very suspicious character she was starting to really wonder about. In other words, Valerie needed a distraction, and a toy of Misha's would definitely do the trick.
In this case, though, Valerie would realize the distraction this gave would only raise a million more questions.
The moment Valerie put the glasses on, everything changed. Not too many things that challenged what she thought, of course. The general aura of The Cheap Prayer was dictated by shady dealings and drinking juxtaposed with good food, and that led to a rather odd look of the place. Valerie watched, and observed the colors that dominated her eyes. Many blacks and grays, and strangely enough, that wasn't surprising. It was when she turned to her fellow travelers she got to see their own auras.
Misha's, not entirely unexpected, was a very bright pink. That was so obvious Valerie could have rolled her eyes. It wasn't so much cliche as it was factual: Misha occupied a pink existence, both powerful and sweet. Her aura was expected.
Danny's was a rather low green, but that was strange. No one else that she could see had that color, and her mind was registering a similar color she'd seen before. Something a little too familiar to her.
NO WAY, she thought to herself. No way that is even right.
Before she could speculate more, her lap top was going off, which meant journal entries and replies. She flipped the terminal open to see that certain things were happening that was making a very big UH OH go off in her head. She looked at Danny quizzically again, and then said, "I'm going to answer these. Be with you guys in a minute?"
no subject
Danny had to remember that this Valerie was a little different than the one he remembered.
She was older, they were a year apart.
Only it felt like a lifetime.
A few days had only passed for Danny in Paixao, but for Val it was a year and some odd days.
How could he honestly contemplate the things that had gone on while he was gone? He decided it was probably a good idea not to, not while he still felt like this whole thing was just some dream. It was getting pretty damn surreal.
He snapped out of his thoughts when Valeries gaze settled on him and she got this...undescribable look. He gave her a quizzical look of his own but she quickly turned her attention to her journal.
What was she so concerned about? She was leaving?
She was always doing that to him. Why?
Well all he could do was nod to her and watch her take off to take care of what it was she needed to tend to. He turned back to Misha and said with a smile.
"Guess it's just us this morning."

"Guys," she said gently, "I'm going to have to get going soon. I made a promise awhile ago, that I wouldn't let people get hurt because I was oblivious to other people's pain. Some thing's sorta come up, and I have to find some answers. I'll be back though, and I'll try to find you guys as soon as I can. It's just I...I have to get to the bottom of what's happening with people here, and as stupid as it sounds, I don't want you guys getting hurt. I'm sorry, but I gotta go."
It sounded stupid, of course, considering what she'd seen Misha do. At that point, Valerie burst out the door, because there was a few other things she was leaving out.
She'd read Larxene's journal, and there was no way she'd subject Danny or Misha to her, who knows what happened to Timon. Besides, she made a promise to Timon that nothing would happen to Misha, and she meant it. As for Danny, well, that just evoked a whole bunch of emotions Valerie preferred not to think about.
She had to be strong. She had to fight. Most importantly , she had to win.
