Not quite what she expected [Active]
Character(s): Etna, anyone who wants to drop by (and I do mean ANYONE)
Content: Etna enters Paixao
Setting: Muspelhiem
Time: Late morning - noon-ish
Warnings: one angry demon, some cursing well, really just one screamed curse.
“Now, this time, don’t tell everyone where I went, okay? When people ask to go somewhere and not be found, letting people chase them is contradictory.” Etna explained as nicely and softly as she could to the pale dimensional gatekeeper. The night was soft and the gigantic netherworld moon peered in through the window, curious as to what could disturb such an oddly peaceful night in the chaotic netherworld. The air was chilled but the stone floor was warm from the fiery pits churning silently below the castle.
In the pale light the meek gatekeeper looked up from the rough warm rocks and nodded in agreement.
“Good.” Etna replied, now speaking at normal volume before raising it to a near yell, “COME ON THROUGH, GUYS!”
She waved her left arm forward as if letting out last call for a cruise ship and a flood of twenty to thirty fat penguins with fanny packs answered her call. The demon swung herself into the crowd as they all pushed their way through a bright tear in space. Just before going through, herself, Etna turned and faced the gatekeeper, “Remember~ our little secret. If I have to come back here” She gave a huge overly-cheering smile. “I’ll just have to kill you~”
With that the last Prinnies and the demon lord disappeared into the gate. Voice rang out from across the throne room, down the stairs and into the common’s “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT NOISE?!”
“n-n-Nothing! …Highness.” The gatekeeper worked up and called back cringing her face.
Meanwhile, back in the twisting chaos between space, Etna stands on nothing, surrounded by darkness, but instead of stepping through the other side of the portal as she should have, everything suddenly shatters into pure blinding light from all directions. Writhing from the light, she covers her eyes, but it’s already too much. She feels the light fading and opens her eyes to a wall of green and purple. Her eyes are still adjusting back.
Finally, her vision comes to and she’s standing at a gate.
“So this is Veldime? I’m impressed, the news made it look like a backwater dump. This gate will look just fine in front of my palace.” She crosses arms, one hand on her chin and a small smirk on her face.
“Well”, she shrugs “let’s get started.”
Seeing none of her personal army, Etna calls, “Prinny team, COME ON!”
But, there’s no response.
She tries again “COME HERE, PRINNIES!”
And still nothing.
“GET YOUR BLUE BUTTS OUT HERE AND TAKE WHAT’S COMING!”
But, there were no prinnies.
“Crap.” She crossed her arms and let her frustration brewed a bit before it whistled out like a teakettle.
“FUCKING PRINNIES!!!!”
Etna gathered herself and stomped towards the Muspelhiem gate, leaving cracks in the walkway behind her and the line of people scattering before her.
“name?” a small voice mechanically chirps from her right.
“What.” Etna snapped and turned; her head barely high enough to look over the counter.
“Your name, miss, if you would.” The gatekeeper continued.
“Oh” and with a sudden sigh, she lifted back into her previous overconfident self and said “Well, I suppose you’ll all know it soon enough. My name is Beauty Queen Etna! But you can call me Queen.”
She gave him a smile triple-coated with cruel intentions; he gave her… a book and a welcome?
Not the welcome she expected, “Welcome to Paixao.” He said. Wasn’t this Veldime?
And that book well not so much book, it seemed more like a video game.
Etna would solve this game and this town. She sat down on a nearby bench and got to work.

Walking in a bit further, Makoto saw a woman sitting on a bench near the entrance, walking over, she tried to get the woman's attention.
"Excuse me...Do you live here?"

"Excuse me...Do you live here?"
Etna looked up at the voice, now realizing she was sitting in the shadow of a tall, presumably human, girl dressed in what she could only imagine Flonne wearing on St. Patrick's day. She was new, really new if she thought red-headed Etna lived in the city of a thousand blondes.
Etna gave the new girl a questioning look before remembering that a little while ago she was just as clueless about the city.
Putting a little false sweetness on her voice, Etna gave a cheery reply, "No, I actually just arrived, Myself."

I knew I was forgetting something when I walked through that gate. Makoto sat on the other end of the bench, not wanting to invade the other woman's space.
"Sorry if I'm bothering you."

"Well, for starters, this place is called Paixao, but I figure you've heard them yell it in your face a good three or four times by now. So, I'll be more specific, from what I've heard, we're on an island with no wildlife and the only people here who aren't part of the pale blonde peanut gallery are people who were dragged here out of their own worlds. Any of this make sense to you?"
no subject
"I just found out that someone I know is here. Do you happen to know where the train station is?"

After a little searching she gave a knowing "ohhh" and turned the screen to face Makoto. "I think I do."

It was only a little bit down the street that he saw another Gate, not much unlike the one through which he'd entered this place called "Paixao".
He decided to investigate.

"Roughly" ,She paused again thinking to confirm her thoughts. "That way."
She gestured towards one of the roads of Paixao.

"Thanks for your help." She began to walk towards the road, glad to know that she wasn't alone here, even if it could be interpreted as a bad omen.
