He had gotten his bullets after paying the woman with a leaf and a few blades of grass, though she had been relunctant to part with them for that price because of how shiny the bullets themselves were. The whole 'shiny things as money' method of payment still confused Vash a little, but considering he was getting this ammo in exchange for a few things he picked up off the street, he wasn't about to complain.
Vash wasn't in much of a hurry, so after stashing the two small boxes of bullets somewhere inside his coat, he stepped away from the counter to take a closer look at the knives. Maybe he should've asked for a sharpening stone for his own knives, but he didn't think he really needed one yet. It could keep. Of course, while he was looking around, he couldn't help but overhear what the other man was buying. That was quite a lot of firepower for a place like this, and Vash really couldn't help the odd look he cast at him.
