Scaling Building = Stupid Idea. So don't do it. [Complete]

Characters: Zidane Tribal, Delirium, Roxas
Content: Zidane and Del finally get off the train, still trying to figure where to go to look. (But then Roxas shows up... lucky them! Hopefully?)
Setting: L-6 after getting off the train.
Time: Skewered! *dies* Seems the sun is making its way up. Heh.
Warnings: None yet.

"I don't know." Zidane said with a sigh. His eyes were gazing along the tops of the domes, searching over buildings, contemplating how rash his plan could be, how dangerous certain places could be to try and stand upon. It'd be like the Ceu de Mouraria all over again. Hopefully not though. He wouldn't want to cross paths with Axel again until he did his job. That'd just be... well, it'd be an annoying run-in! That's for sure!

"Well um." Zidane wasn't a big fidgeter. He was fidgeting. He barely even remembered why he was looking for this Roxas-character. Sure, it gave him something to be doing - as lame as an adventure as it could be considered - and he had gotten a free meal off of it and - that was it! Free. Axel and his special "VIP"-ness at the Ceu de Mouraria... Zidane was going to be able to actually get in for a show.

...which didn't quite seem worth it anymore, but he still found himself having to go through with this. He was an honest kind of guy (to some extent)! He could be a thief half of the time, but he couldn't just ignore his dealings. Besides... Sir Flamealot could probably be quite a challenge to take on if he did ever run into him again.

No, that wouldn't do.

Roxas... Roxas... It took Zidane a few minutes for his memory to punt pieces of conversation into his consciousness. "... His name is Roxas. He’s got spiky blond hair. Not quite as spiky as mine, but it always looks like he just got out of bed. ... And blue eyes. ... but he might be dressed like I am.”

Huh. That's right.

"Well, I guess..." I looked over at Del and chuckled. "Maybe I'll get back to you on that."

He wasn't going to be rash again. He already learned that climbing up on buildings was a stupid idea when it came to finding people, why the hell had he been so close to doing it again? Man, if I was with the others, Steiner probably would have walloped me by now. Sheesh.

First off, there was the need to go... "sightseeing", aka walk and teleport. The last thing Roxas wanted was to get caught off guard by Organization XIII-- this was their terrain, not his, and at the very least, he needed to know Paixao. Some place this was. The Nobody had been around for a bit (around four days), but half the time he was in an alley. And well, in an alley, it was hard to tell what the surrounding area looked like.

Before that, the boy had hung around with IX and a large headed boy. Oh... right. Was that a part of the Organization's plan by any chance? To sent Demyx on his trail? It was rather suspicious that Saix had caught up to him so quickly... even if it was the Organization. Did Demyx rat him out? Roxas gave a sigh and resumed walking. No matter.

So far, most of the people in buildings he has been in were all similar to a sickening degree. They were all very pale, blonde, and blue eyed-- kind of like him, just more blonde. But it wasn't just that. They all had this sort of... aura about them that made them seem inhuman. Strange. All the trees and plants around were fake, which was fairly easy to tell now that he took the effort to observe his surroundings. Then there were these domes... It was frustrating. Like being in a cage...

He had just past Estale a Cereja, which he didn't bother to enter, and would refuse to enter for as long as possible. Now then... It appeared Roxas was near a station. They have trains do they?

There wasn't much here. Delirium didn't quite know how she wanted to piece it all together, or if she just wanted to let it fall all over the place. She followed the soft thing around and around and off the train and around again.

She could see it, the thing here. Or the not-thing here. It was all funny shaped on the inside. Like bent paperclips and scotch tape. Not quite all stuck together right.

From behind him, the blonde Nobody heard something that made him stand up straight. Shoot, who is it now?
Especially after thinking, the paranoia level was close to off the charts.

Roxas fixed his face into a scowl. This was absurd-- the Organization almost had him rolling around without even doing anything. Darn... But he couldn't leave now. Heck, he didn't know if he even could leave. More than likely, Paixao really was a cage; and everyone in it was a specimen.

"Roxas!" Didn't this guy give up? The voice didn't sound familiar either. So why was this person calling him? How did he know his name? The Thirteenth stopped walking then turned only his head to face a monkey boy. Wonderful. He glared at Zidane for several seconds only to turn back around to continue walking around the station.

Was the Organization hiring people to track him down? Maybe he was over thinking this... But nonetheless, Roxas had a very limited number of associates; this monkey boy was not one of them (unless someone had learned to transform himself/herself recently anyway, which he highly doubted). Maybe if the blonde boy continued walking, this person might get a clue and not confront him.

Roxas pulled up his hood while taking strides. In any case, another confrontation would have to be avoided in the future.

[identity profile] destiny-key.livejournal.com 2007-01-29 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
This Paixao was annoying. This monkey-boy here was annoying. This whole situation was annoying. Didn't the other boy understand that Roxas didn't want to confront him by any means? Roxas heard quick footsteps approaching him then a hand coming up to his face to pull down his hood. A bit awkwardly, the blonde fumbled his hands to grab the other boy's wrist and get it off. He's even taking the liberty to wave his hand in front of my face. Idiot.

Seeing no point in trying to pull his hood back on again, the Nobody just stood there, scowling deeply at the figure in front of him. Zidane seemed like outspoken—and to put it frankly, the very opposite of himself. Clearly his stay in Paixao was getting better and better by the second. Roxas didn't bother to fold his hands; instead, he made them into fists. When Money Boy was out of his personal space, there was something rather interesting he hold him, "You're the one Axel wanted me to find..."

So, what was this supposed to mean? Back when Roxas was considered a faithful member of the Organization—or at least, supposedly—Axel claimed to be good friend of the shorter boy. But he didn't trust that kind of bond at all. Not anymore anyway. "Nobody would miss me." "That's not true... I would." Roxas mentally snorted at the recollection. It was the best "heartfelt" lie that anyone in the Organization ever told him-- not that any of them even had hearts. Now what was Axel trying to do to prove himself to be shallow?

The boy gave himself a mental punch in the head, reminding himself to stop excessively thinking. Relaxing his face a bit he replied, "What does he want with me?"

[identity profile] destiny-key.livejournal.com 2007-01-29 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Axel and he did have some good times together... One could say that the two were friends, or even best friends. Fighting alongside each other, carrying out missions together...

There wasn't a lot of sympathy in Organization XIII, which was expected from a group of thirteen Nobodies. It was a bit of a mocking emptiness in all them that probably made them that way. They all wanted to feel complete yet had no real means to do so. It was only after Roxas's arrival in Paixao that he truly felt himself to be a bit different than the rest of them. It must come with being the Key of Destiny.

Roxas glared at the other boy. Clearly, or at least to him, if Axel didn't tell Zidane what business he had with the Thirteenth, it was suspicious. Good times, bad times, that was all in the past. Telling his life story here apparently, Roxas thought offhandedly. "...trouble..." The blonde scoffed. Since when did Axel have trouble?

When Monkey Boy pointed to someplace, the blonde followed it with his eyes out of instinct rather than habit.

Upon returning his gaze onto the person in front of him, he replied, "He's like that a lot of the time." It's a show he puts on. Axel always did seem to feel the need to act like an idiot even if he probably thought twice as much as the rest of the Organization. So, he put on a show for Zidane did he? After a long pause Roxas added curtly, "What do you want me to do?"

Even if Axel hadn't directly met the Thirteenth yet, he probably didn't need to-- if Axel wanted to talk to him, he should have done so himself. This was a waste of time and was most likely not going to go anywhere for anyone's better.

As Zidane suspected she was doubtfully where he had gestured. Doubtfully meaning somewhere that was near but not quite. Because she was a not quite person. Well, person was always the wrong thing to say.

However, she had her eyes on the new person. Well, he wasn't quite a person either. She could see all the pieces that went together, sometimes. Or, at least, what they looked like when they were all apart.

"...foUnd!" She pointed out to Zidane though, as they had found Roxas. Or what she supposed was the thing Zidane was trying to find.

[identity profile] destiny-key.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Roxas lightly scowled as Delirium exclaimed, pointing him out. It was slightly embarrassing, even if there was no one around to be embarrassed by. There was Zidane but... hrm...

"I have some things to take care of." He started off slowly. I don't want to be caught off guard again by the Organization. In response to the comment on 'that funky teleport shit', came a flat response, "I'm too tired." Which wasn't completely a lie, to give the young Nobody some credit, but it was almost as good as one seeing how only several moments ago Roxas had teleported from Estale a Cereja to the station.

Quite frankly, unless the Eighth was desperately searching for him himself, it didn't seem like there was a reason to meet Axel. It just didn't make sense to the boy. "And I don't know where he is," he finished lamely (doubting that Zidane knew too) after a pause since his last response.

If the Organization was running Paixao, Axel was busy with some sort of business he made for himself.
Roxas couldn't afford to waste time like this much longer.

[identity profile] destiny-key.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
This guy really, really didn't know when to quit.
Heck, he didn't even realize that Roxas didn't want to further discuss the matter.

But that was fine. If only a matter of time before Zidane would understand the Nobody's thoughts well. For now, the blonde responded in the same flat tone as before, "It's nothing related to you." Asking for the monkey boy's help in traveling around Paixao was bound to be more of a burden then any help.

With that, Roxas turned around to continue walking along the station. If he tries to stop me again... And... Oh. Without stopping, he added, "Tell Axel I found out why." The boy couldn't help be remember again how... soothing, it was to meet your Somebody-- the mock jealousy toward Sora was still there but it had considerable decreased.

[identity profile] destiny-key.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
It was hard to understand-- why people he met kept insisting on helping, even if they had nothing to do with the situation at hand. Axel was kind of like that wasn't he? He didn't help much, probably because of the limitations the Organization put on him, but he tried nonetheless. That kind of help never did anyone good though. Everything Axel did was for self-gain; there was nothing that said Roxas was an exception...

Monkey Boy had a heart, the Nobody realized. His voice wasn't coated with something false or imitated... The Thirteenth stopped and turned around to face Zidane. Idiot.

Looking slightly tired, he said, "You don't anyway."

Yeah, this place is pretty messed up. "Suppose I should travel with you and your, uh, friend there." Roxas finished, motioning toward Delirium. To Delirium, he asked, "How about it?"

[identity profile] 1000fish.livejournal.com 2007-01-31 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
She had a very far away look. Not that Delirium was ever close but there was someone here she knew so very well. Not a sibling, but someone she spent a lot of time with. Inside. Where all the fishes were. Delirium didn't realize she was being asked a question (or, maybe, it wasn't at the right time and place and space) until a few minutes had passed.

"...soMeone caMe." She replied to the blond paperclipping-paper. She wanted to go now. Had to go now. There were things to be done, suddenly. People to be found, maybe. Maybes to be suddenly. Delirium had many things on her list. "...i'm goIng." She explained. Or was explaining. Or had been explaining.

Then she just started walking away. She would find her destination. Eventually.

[identity profile] destiny-key.livejournal.com 2007-02-01 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
At Delirium answer, Roxas simply flickered his eyes in her direction then looked away. She was an... eccentric character to say the least. Most people spoke in a manner that most understandable: she seemed to be beyond that. The blonde Nobody silently wished her luck in finding her destination or, er, an individual she was seeking. It was not large matter to him.

"Great," he answered Zidane with a hybrid of sincerity, sarcasm, and indifference (strange how the three completely different way of speaking was put together). To the Monkey Boy's whispered comment, Roxas made no reply except a slight nod. Why was this boy at such ease with him? Unlike any of his previous encounters here, there was little to no suspicion... He seemed like a minor player in the Nobody's existence. Maybe, that would soon change.

There was a pause. "Traveling with others hasn't been the best experience for me." Just shut up so I can think. There was another pause. "We need money." Uncharacteristically, he added more to the statement, "I've flipped through the journals-- I hear there's money in some of the trees."

[identity profile] destiny-key.livejournal.com 2007-02-02 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
There wasn't really much to say or do now. And obviously, Zidane was still talking more than Roxas found agreeable. He was getting used to it more and more as he interacted with others here at Paixao, but silence really suit him best. Strange how the Nobody didn't find company agreeable yet was trying to become whole by--

"We should get some more 'money' so it'll be easier later on."

Assuming that the other boy would follow him, the Thirteenth began walking in the direction that he had started to several moments ago. Now, to find the next destination... I wonder when I'll see Axel again.

[ooc; should we close the thread now? or if you want, you can post then close it-- i don't have anything i want roxas to do in this thread anymore x3]
