When all that was left was the last taboo...[Complete]
Character(s): Sailor Pluto, Briar Moss, Juro, Graywolf (Anyone else is welcome of course ^_^)
Content: The usual arrival type thing! Yay!
Setting: Vanaheim Gate
Time: Afternoon
Warnings: Nada ^_^
So long ... It had been so very, very long since she'd been anywhere other than the gate. It was almost overwhelming to be back in the time-flow, but she couldn't stop to think about it as she found Demando in procession of the two silver crystals. The one from the present, and one of the future.
She was rarely frightened, but she felt a wave of panic as raced forward with King Endymion at her side. 'If they touch,' Pluto thought to herself, 'everything in this world could be over!' She felt the future wavering uncontrollably as the two crystals came closer. NO! She couldn't allow this! This could NOT come to be. It was not meant to be. Demando was meddling with time, and she could not allow it.
She had no choice, she had to protect the universe. Taboo was going to have to be broken, and she would face the consequences, but ... it was worth the cost.
"St..." she started to cry but caught in her throat as something happened. Something that she had not foreseen... something that was not to be. She was horrified as she felt space and time rip and warped around her, the timeline being disrupted by an outside force!
"No!" she cried as she felt dizzy, as she was swallowed up, darkness took her.
She felt so ill when she awoke, she almost doubled over. This .. this was not the time gate. Was she dead? No, she hadn't broken the last taboo yet. Where was she?
She rose unsteadily to her feet, grasping her staff tightly as she used it to hoist herself up. She leaned on it heavily as she felt another wave of discomfort passed over her.
This world! This place was chaos. She could feel it, so many paths through space-time were open to this world, sucking. Sucking like a .. vacuum. It was almost overwhelming her. 'By Chronos' name, what has caused this?' she thought to herself, bewildered.
She couldn't dwell on it .. other much greater things were at stake. She HAD to get back to earth, and now she would have to cross time again to do it. Far too many taboos were being broken today. Lifting the Garnet Rod she cried out, "Tear apart the sky, and open the space-time door to me! I call the true name of the almighty god of time, my father! Chronos! Reveal to me the path of light!"
She felt a ripple then ... nothing, like a flickering flame, snuffed out before it could grow.
She'd been foolish to try that, she realized quickly in hindsight. If this world was sucking all things towards it, of course it would be almost impossible to open a path in the opposite direction. Even for her, it seemed, or at least that was what she theorized. What could possibly cause this?
The doorways needed to be sealed, but she was hesitant to try. If she could not open a doorway could she even close them? She needed to find out more before she would attempt it. She could not be hasty. She could only pray things could be righted, and she would be able to get back to the right moment in time to do what she had to do.
Doing her best to ignore the flow, she had a better look at what was around her. Her garnet eyes instantly focused on the great domes not far from where she now stood. What was that?
She soon found herself in the city, having gone through the gate and been given some sort of simplistic computer and she in turn had only given the gatekeeper the name "Pluto". It didn't take her long to figure out the piece of technology and was shocked at what she read. This was larger than she possibly could have imagined. People from all kinds of worlds and times ... all brought to this one place.
It troubled her deeply. Tampering with time is a dangerous and grave thing to do, but to also be potentially pulling people across alternate dimensions? Whatever was causing this disruption had to be stopped, or the repercussions could be ... devastating.
Another wave of discomfort passed over her as she continued to fight with her overwhelmed senses. Being so in tune with the flow of time apparently could have its disadvantages.
Normally she would have made effort to disappear from sight ... or perhaps she would have considered at least de-transforming, but she felt too uncomfortable to worry about these things. She instead found a bench to rest on while she tried to relax and adjust. At least she hoped she could quickly adjust or this would make whatever amount of time she was trapped here very difficult.

In his wanderings, Briar spotted an oddly dressed woman taking a break on a bench. Even from the distance he could see that she was uncomfortable with something. However, his thing was plants, not true healing, and as such, he didn't really know what was up.
He approached the woman with care. "Excuse me? Are you okay?"

Holding his journal in one hand, he chucked it as far away as he possibly could from him. It didn't hit anything on its way (though he wouldn't have minded seeing it hit someone, such as one of the townspeople), but instead it ended up hitting the ground with a clatter and then slid for a moment or two. It eventually skidded to a halt a short distance away from where Pluto and Briar were.
"Tch," Juro snorted, and then laughed to himself. You idiot, he thought. You haven't changed much. As much as it had felt good to throw that, he wondered if he should actually be doing that - after all, there had to be some reason why he was given it in the first place. And why everybody he spotted seemed to have one...
What was so special about them? He didn't know, and until he found out he would try to hang onto it. He headed in the direction he'd thrown the journal, determined to get it back - and had another little chuckle as he saw the two others standing there. "Can't even throw anything here without running into humans," he said, musing more to himself than anything else. "What luck!"

Taking a moment to glance over who was speaking to her, her first brief expression, which had not been so friendly, softened into a much kinder one as she realized it was a boy standing before her. She guessed him maybe just in his early teens? It was hard to say, but she knew better than to judge from appearances anyways. However, he looked still a boy, so she treated him as such.
"I-I'm quite fine, thank you," she replied, with a slightly forced smile. This boy didn't seem to be one the bystanders, perhaps he was from another world? She normally would have excused herself, but the chance to talk to the boy and see what she could find out kept her in place.
Before she could say anything more, the clatter of a journal landing near them drew her attention away to the journal, and the creature that was running towards it. Was she hearing it speak? Either way she was not surprised. She had just shortly ago left Diana, a talking cat, behind at the time gate. Although, she was unsure just what the creature was exactly.
no subject
"Are you sure?" he tried to ask. The clatter of the journal seemed to have covered up most of the words, and Briar reacted on habit, turning toward the source, more than ready to loosen the cotton bindings on his wrist holsters to drop the knives into his hands. There seemed to be a strange creature approaching them. Perhaps it was the owner of the journal? Either way, Briar seemed less than pleased.
"Great, more strange creatures," he muttered before adopting a smile for Pluto. He decided to pose the question again. "Are you sure you're okay?"
no subject
Keeping an eye on the two of them, he gingerly picked up his journal and inspected it for one moment, before slipping the collar on it around his neck. Perhaps if it hung there he'd be less likely to use it as a projectile weapon the next time he grew angry.
His eyes rested on Pluto for a short moment. While Briar's clothing didn't get much of a reaction out of him, Pluto's did - but only because he wondered what a school girl was doing all the way out here. The assumption was not entirely unfounded - her outfit certainly did seem like some that he'd seen on girls before.
no subject
"Yes, I am sure I'm fine, or at least I will be, in time," she said, her smile quirking a little more up at her own word usage. She stood from the bench, the chain of keys at her waist jangling slightly as she moved. She leaned down slightly to curl her fingers around the silver key-like staff that had been placed down beside her, and lifting it up, to rest it on it's tip to the ground.
"You ... are also not from here, are you?" Pluto questioned the boy softly, also she also made a side glance at the creature wondering if that could be the case for it as well.
no subject
Seeing Pluto smile more set him a little more at ease. He could tell that the discomfort had faded, though it was still there. And if she didn't want to discuss it, and would rather pretend it wasn't there, well, he wouldn't pry. It wasn't his place, and it wasn't like there was anything he could do about it, anyway.
Briar actually laughed at Pluto's question. It wasn't stupid, but it was the first time he had ever been asked. The folks he had come across had just assumed that he was from Elsewhere when they met him. It was probably rather rude to be laughing, though, and the thought sobered Briar pretty quickly. Damn those street tendencies of his!
"No," he said, "Far from it. From what I can tell, the people who are actually from this city are fairer folk, blonde haired and blue eyed. Not saying that everyone like that is native to this place, but many of them are."
no subject
His tail lashed back and forth, and he threw his head back for a moment in contempt. "Though it didn't entirely surprise me." He clenched his teeth together for a moment, and then his expression softened somewhat - as much as it could, anyways. "At least you're not throwing rocks or anything at me by now." Yet, anyways. It was bound to happen at some point in time if he stayed in this form; if not from these people, then from someone else...
no subject
"I have not been here long, but I was beginning to suspect that was the case," she replied, "You seem to have been here longer, I presume? What more can you tell me? Anything would be ... appreciated..."
She paused a moment, eyebrow lifting slightly at the creature's mention of .. rocks. "... Why ever would we throw rocks at you?" she questioned. What a peculiar creature.
no subject
Briar nodded to Pluto. "I've been here for a few days, at least."
He had to think about how to answer her second question. But what all had he noticed? "There's a distinct lack of plants here. And like I said, the natives seem to be blonde haired and blue eyed. It makes it easier to find those who don't belong. There are also strange creatures here, though they seem to have disappeared..."
no subject
Juro blinked upon hearing Briar's second statement. "If this is a city, then it's to be expected that there wouldn't be many plants though, yes? There's bound to be some of them somewhere around here, though?"
no subject
"Back outside the gate there was no lack of plant life, however," she turned her eyes back in the direction of the gate, "I only observed people coming in. I did not see anyone leaving curiously, but I could see no reason why you could not."
She turned her gaze back to Briar with concern, "I noticed some mentioning of creatures in the journals briefly. What sort of creatures?" she inquired, wondering to herself if they could be some kind of youma.
no subject
"And as for the creatures, they were gray and moved very strangely. They were unlike anything I've ever seen before, and I'd like to think that I've seen a lot of things." He shuddered at the thought of the creatures and the woman he had seen directing them. Briar never wanted to see her again, if he could help it.
"Some of the creatures answered the call of a woman, but I only got a brief glance at her before my sister was ushering me out of the situation."

Tiger wouldn't have stood for it.
The great wolf smirked at the thought, baring his teeth, and kept walking. He weaved his way expertly throughout the crowd, though admittedly his expression gave them good reason to move away. Soon after nearing the gates, his head perked at a strange scent, something not human, not even close, and he looked around curiously trying to locate the source of it. His gaze happened upon a strange group of three, strange only because of the large creature that was with them.
He had seen some strange things here in Paixao and had given up most thought of meeting something from his own world, but now he felt a wild stab of hope. Maybe, just maybe it would be from Gaia, if not that then... it was a familiar enough face. Anything even vaguely inhuman would have been welcome at this point. The wolf approached, slowing a short distance away as he caught the end bits of their conversation.
"You saw those things too? The ones I fought were controlled by a boy, but they weren't that tough of a fight. They disappear right after you kill them, and-ah..." Graywolf paused after stepping forward, before frowning and continuing apologetically. "Um. Sorry for interrupting, but I just overheard... I didn't know they were in other parts of the city."
no subject
As he didn't know what kind of "gray creatures" the others were talking about, he just kept quiet and fumed to himself, until he heard Graywolf's voice. The kamaitachi turned his head to look at the horned canine creature, and couldn't help but chuckle.
"Well, speak of the devil," he said, sounding rather amused. "Start talking about gray creatures, and such a thing comes right up to us. What kind of strange luck is that?"
no subject
"Greetings. I had not witnessed these creatures at all, I only just arrived. Thank you - both of you - for your information, it is greatly appreatiated," she replied now.
If there was what they described as people controlling these gray things they spoke of, then it seemed safe to assume with that and Briar's description the things were not humanoid. The fact that there were people controlling them was an important fact to Pluto, however. It was a lead - a good one.
"I guess I shall have to further investigate this," she commented thoughtfully, "May I also inquire ... none of you have seen any other girls here dressed in a simular fashion to myself, have you?
no subject
He then considered Pluto's question. "You have a very strange way of dressing, and I'm sure I'd've remembered seeing someone dressed like you are... especially given the temperatures. And aren't you cold?"
Were it not for his mind being on other things, Briar was sure that he would be noticing the cold a lot more than he had. He was a plant-mage, after all, and his familiarity with plants often lead to a similar dislike of the cold.
no subject
His jaws tilted, blue eyes moving to Pluto. The question gave him pause, before he shrugged, his silver mane fluffing out around him. "I've seen other young girls like you. You know, different. But I don't think they were dressed the same..."
no subject
To Pluto he said: "Haven't seen any. Not in that kind of dress, anyways. The only girls I've ever seen that dressed even remotely like that are all the way back home. I severely doubt there'd be any of them around at all." The weasel-like monster gave a little snort.
no subject
After a long pause she smiled a little at Briar, "No ... I'm not cold. Not really." The gates of time could hardly be called warm, but also the form of a senshi had a certain amount of protection against the elements.
So with the fact she was likely alone now a possibility, she started to ponder what to do. Since she could not leave, finding somewhere to stay would probably be prudent. She had discovered the map on the journal, so she had noted a couple possibilities.
"Well, it seems I am stuck here as everyone else, for the time being. While I am not feeling it much, it probably would be prudent of me to find shelter from the cold," she said softly to the group, feeling a little uncomfortable talking to so many at once. Her voice hinting that she might be considering departing from them.

The great wolf turned his blue eyes on Pluto, and lifted one clawed paw to gesture a bit awkwardly off into the masses of people and down the street. "I'm pretty sure I saw a few inns in that direction if you need a place to stay. ... There are tons of people here who... don't really belong here I guess. If they're smart, they'll have more than enough rooms."
no subject
A small look of consternation crossed his face. His fur had started to feel like it was crawling from seeing all the people around - his patience for seeing them was starting to wear a bit thin. And...he was starting to feel a little peckish. "I don't suppose you know the location of the nearest place to get food as well, do you?"
no subject
She then turned her head to look in the direction that was pointed out to her as being the direction to find a hotel. "I see," she replied softly, turning her garnet gaze back to the gray wolf, "Then it seems that is the direction I shall go."
She tilted her head with a slight nod, "Thank you for the information. It is appreciated."

Watching as Juro took off, Pluto glanced to Graywolf and Briar, her eyes lingering on the boy. Hopefully he would be alright. He seemed quite intelligent and had already been in the city some time. So with a final nod to them and a soft goodbye, the senshi of Pluto left their company. However her direction soon changed. Having checked the journal again and discovering Sailor Jupiter was here. It was both a worry and a relief. Either way, meeting with Makato was now foremost on her agenda.
