Helping with the Aftermath[Completed]
Character(s): Machu Picchu, Haku, Naruto
Content: The fighters all go inside to help with the aftermath of the attacks, and get some help for any of their own injuries from the aftermath as well.
Setting: inside Paradisio Hospital
Time: late evening/night
Warnings: nothing yet
"This is irritating." Picchu mumbled as she crouched on the floor in the hospital to provent herself from first of all, hitting her head on the ceiling, and second of all, stepping or kneeling on her tail. She used her fingers as well as she could to comb her wings back, checking herself over for scratches and cuts.
She lifted her head up, and glanced out the doors and windows when she had finished grooming her wings back. There no longer were any creations frozen, all that was left was merely the shells of ice. "Ah...They're gone? Well, that is rather anticlimactic. It's still worrying, though."
She decided that now that she was out of danger she should check out the device in her hands. She typed in two words that defined her and then her password. Following that, she began poking around, exploring other people's entries. After reading quite a bit, a little box in the corner popped up, 'Michael?' it read. She paused. Only one person she knew would call her Michael. Her brother. That made things a little easier. She tried to explain to him that she wasn't Michael at the moment. But it wasn't turning out so well. At least by the end of the short conversation he decided to behave. She didn't want to have to clean up any of her brother's messes at the moment. She'd talk to him later.
She sighed, turning toward Haku and Naruto, "Well. I'm not sure how much use I can be with the whole building being so small, but I'll try to help as best I can."

"Any help that can be offered will be more than appreciated," Haku replied, "I'm sure."
He took a look around, before deciding on which direction they should take. The best course of action would be to find some doctor, or nurse, or something. But, it would be wise of them to first find some information desk and sadly, it wasn't at this entrance.
"We're going to need to speak with some doctor or nurse," he told them as he sought out the directory. "I'm sure that would be the best place to start from."

He eyed Machu Picchu, suddenly truly noticing her awesome height. And the wings. He felt a little sorry for her, but mainly he was just irked by her height (couldn't he be taller than someone else for once?), and a little creeped out. "Where we gonna find doctors?" he asked, peering over Haku's shoulder at the directory.

She stopped first by the children’s ward, glancing in on the sausage-curled young girl who volunteered to read every week, “Tori? Are you done reading?”
Tori smiled, “Not quite, but I’ll go with you if you need me.” She excused herself from the children.
“I suppose you can come down. You can get Cheryl and tell her she can take a break. She’s down the hall from the reception area. Let’s see what else has come through the door.”
Tori followed Nurse Heather down the hall, limping slightly. She had turned her ankle earlier, around the time the attacks had begun while she was at the hospital.
Nurse Heather smiled at the three people staring at the directory, “Can I assist you with something?”
Tori grinned, running over to the one sitting on its heels, dropping Despereaux and her book to stroke the feathers, “Ooh! It has feathers!”
Nurse Heather smiled watching, “This is Tori. She’s been a volunteer reading to the children for several years. She used to be a patient a long time ago.”

She glanced at the little girl, who was busy running her hands through her feathers, following the grain of her wings, which were folded to her back. It tickled a bit, but she stood still. “Oh, so now I’m an it? And what’s so weird about feathers? Call me Picchu.”

"We were actually looking to find a nurse," the effeminate shinobi stated, motioning to the directory. "We've come to offer our assistance as we were more than sure that, with the attacks outside, there had been a spike in the number of patients. I know, at least, that there can never been enough help."
Haku smiled again. He was completely in his element in the hospital, and Zabuza had always given him free reign when it came to anything medical. It was the one thing that the older shinobi had admitted limited knowledge to, and he had often let Haku play teacher with such things.
"Picchu is right," he admitted. "I have medical knowledge, and am an adept medic-nin."

"Whoa," he said, looking at Haku with undisguised surprise. "You're a medic-nin?"

Heather smiles at the three. “Oh. We’d appreciate the help. I’m Nurse Heather. We’re running….a bit behind schedule. Some of our nurses and doctors are covering other parts of the city that don’t have full running hospitals. And one of our nurses actually has a patient at her house, recovering.”
She glances first at the feathered woman that Tori is busy petting, “Well, since Tori seems to have gotten attached to you, Picchu, you can accompany her to go get Cheryl and then to the children’s ward.” There is a pause while she addresses Tori, “Have Cheryl take dinner orders after you finish the story you were reading them.”
Tori nodded, “Yes, Nurse Heather.” She turns to the feathered lady, “Your feathers are soft, Picchu.” She smiles, “Let’s go.” She tugs on Picchu’s sleeve, impatiently.
Heather turned to Haku, “Most of the newer patients are on this floor. Some mostly minor injuries. Others a little more severe. You can take care of it as you wish. I will send Nurse Lisa down to assist you momentarily.”
Then she turned to the third, “If you don’t mind, we’ll need all the help we can get running things back and forth between floors. On the second floor there is a lounge area, I need dinner orders from that room. There are not patients there, but families of patients and a few refugees from the attacks. When you get the orders, go down the hall and you want to take a left to the nurse’s room.”

He smiled at Heather as he reached into his sleeve and pulled out the hair ties and accessories that he had taken out upon his arrival in this city. "You could consider it a term to differentiate between a shinobi medic, and a civilian trained in the medical field," he said, in response to her question, and then listened as she spoke of the patients that he could take care of.
"If you could have her bring a list of all the patients and their injuries, it would help me out a great deal. I'd rather start with the most seriously injured. They'll need my attention the most. And see you, Picchu."

"Bye, Picchu," he said cheerfully to the freaky, tall, winged woman, and then gave the nurse a dazzling grin. He definitely liked her, he decided. "Sure!" he said, in response to her orders, and promptly dashed away to carry them out, yelling a half-remembered "Bye!" over his shoulder.

She glanced after Naruto as he ran off, "Is he always that much action? I didn't even tell him the details of that order. At least there's a few families that should know meal options by now."
Lisa looked at the journal in front of her, as she began adding in notes to the database, as a few nurses had returned their paperwork to be filed. When she saw Heather's message she shook her head, this would be interesting. Apparently they were getting a...well-trained assistant of some strange branch of alternative medicine that she'd never heard of. Well, at least it would be interesting. She began to order the listing of recent patients in the database by critical injuries and then printing it off, heading down to the entrance hall. Even though personally, she felt it would be easier just to give the assistant access to the database, regardless of the usual rules set in stone about access being restricted to nurses and doctors.
Tori smiled, leading the way down the hall to where Cheryl was working, talking very enthusiastically about the city as a whole. "Cheryl! Nurse Heather says you can come help me with dinner orders in the children's ward now!" she called cheerfully when they reached the room.
Cheryl smiled, "One minute Tori. And introduce me to your friend."
Tori grinned, "This is Picchu! She's going to help."

Picchu wondered how long the young girl had been in Paixao for. She was very enthusiastic. It was...a good thing to have someone tell about the city from another viewpoint.
When Tori finished talking she waved at Cheryl, "Yes...I'll help as best I can."
She smiled, turning to Tori and handing her the book and the mouse, "And I believe these are yours."

For Haku, it felt nice to be doing something useful and productive like this, helping people. He hadn't gotten such opportunities back home. Of course, when he had to stick with Zabuza, and maintain constant movement in order to avoid being tracked by Hunter-nin, he had been unable to help the injured people that he saw. It had bothered him, back then, to keep going when he knew he could help. Then again, back then, he was Zabuza's tool, his weapon. He fought for Zabuza because he knew nothing else.
But now, Haku knew what freedom was like, and he wasn't sure that he would be able to adapt back to being Zabuza's weapon. Then again, he wasn't sure if Zabuza had even survived the encounter with that genin team. Perhaps he should ask Naruto later.

"Yosh! Lets see here... ahhh..." he spoke to himself as he realized maybe he should find something to write all these down. Glancing around the lounge, he luckily managed to get his hands on a piece of paper and a pen. Now ready, he made his way over to those in the lounge.
He was greeted with several confused looks, when he asked for their orders as, apparently, he should have known what the choices were. Oops. Luckily for him, a few there did know the choices and very soon he had taken down all the orders.
(OOC: ... oh god I want to use that emoticon... must.. not... *siodfjoisdf* okay there. I hope this is okay ^__^; )

By the end of the day, they were all ready to call it quits and Picchu got them all a room at the local hotel, Morem O Lisboa. Naruto snuck out early in the morning before the other two woke up.
