"I didn't plan on meeting him," he says in reply to that bit of information. Not that he remembered at the very least. The doctors had him pretty drugged up for the first few days that he could hardly remember anything. He might have done something unreasonable then.
"The last time I met you was at Shishio's base, after you defeated the boy," and Shishio, but perhaps it would be best to keep that for later. "I had thought that you would've killed him; he seemed the type to fight 'til death."
Picturing the Tenken letting anyone walk away from a fight with him and them alive is almost impossible, but there is also the issue of time. Something is nagging at the back of Saitou's mind but he is trying to push it as far back as he can. There is no such thing as time travel, right?
