Fateful Meeting [Completed]

Character(s): Kenshin and Soujirou
Content: The Rurouni has an encounter with Soujirou (who's on his way to find Oscuro)
Setting: Around K7
Time: Afternoon
Warnings: Not sure yet. XD

Kenshin had continued on his journey through the city after the, rather well, strange, conversation with the other wanderer. He didn't really having much else to do but investigate the city, which seemed to just go on and on.

Being stuck here was starting to sink in, thus he was wondering about looking for somewhere to stay, as well as food, but to have either he needed money. So he would need some kind of work, although he didn't know what. Cooking perhaps? Perhaps not. This place didn't have any japanese influence that he could see. It seemed unlikely there would be any japanese cuisine. Odd jobs, like errands? That was a possibility perhaps. Well, maybe he could figure out something from the journal.

Worry had also begun to creep in. If Saitou and Soujirou was here, could some of the others turn up here too? Could Kaoru-dono be somewhere here? If she was here, he'd need to try to find her. Not that she couldn't handle herself, but he would hate for her to be here on her own.

Funny, that Kenshin was thinking and worrying about just that. Or rather, people he knew that were wandering around Paixao. Except, Soujirou was supposed to be doing something other than wandering. He was supposed to be finding Oscuro, but having no real place to find Oscuro he was left with the strategy of crisscrossing across Paixao and hoping to encounter him.

To say that Soujirou was easily distracted would be wrong. However, while running he couldn't really help but stop every now and then and look around. It just so happened that while he was looking around this time he spotted a fairly familiar face. Not to say that they were well acquainted or anything.

"Ah! Himura-san!"

"It is good to see you again, Himura-san," Soujirou bowed to the former Battousai. Had he been any other, he might have looked for an opening or studied the rurouni better. However this was purely social at the moment. It had already been proven, in Shingetsu Village, who was stronger at the moment. "Are you well?"

He took a neutral stance, hands at his side. It was fun to watch Himura-san's expressions. They were so varied.

Soujirou laughed, as always Himura-san was right on target! Though, the former Battousai didn't seem so confident about it. Then again, Himura-san was always polite and well spoken, just like Shishio-san. Somewhat.

"I'm looking for someone," Soujirou revealed with a wide smile. Of course it might have been helpful to say who, but that would make this conversation much shorter than it needed to be.

"Have you been here long, Himura-san?" Soujirou inquired, changing the subject. Though, in his mind it made a perfect logical path of connection. People had trouble following his logical leaps sometimes.

The tenken rocked back on his heels a little, "There's a lot that you should learn about this place, it might help you." He added with a bit of mystery.

Only the second day here. Soujirou wasn't sure his exact stay in Paixao, but it was longer than two days. It was a bit of an advantage, considering the oddities of his city.

"Oh? When are you from?" He didn't take it seriously. When one came from didn't matter so much as what one did. Even if they were from the past or the future they could still be judged with the same scale.

"Eh? You're rather faster, Himura-san, have you found yourself a new sword?" Soujirou tilted his head to the side. It seemed like just the other day. He wouldn't have expected Kenshin to be able to find a replacement sword so quickly. "Did you get one with a proper edge?" He added.

Sakabatou Shinuchi. Soujirou's eyes dropped to the blade Kenshin referred to. He found it rather silly. A reverse blade, protecting people. Himura Kenshin was a walking contradiction. Worse than that was the slight nagging feeling at the back of his mind.

"Ah! That's unexpected! I hope you feel confident with that sword." It would be impossible to defeat Shishio-san with a blade like that.

"It's almost a shame..." Soujirou said, looking up, as if at the sky. He, himself, was confident that he could defeat the rurouni. There was zero chance of victory, especially if Himura-san continued to cling to that stupid ideal. Even thinking about it made his head turn around in ways he didn't like. Soujirou's smile lessened, slightly.

"Here, it's different." The tenken offered.

"Saitou-san is not with you," Again, he changed the subject. His errand was not forgotten, but Soujirou could not move away, yet. Himura-san did this to him, made him listen and ... made him annoyed. Maybe annoyed was too strong of a word. "I hope he doesn't get hurt!"

Soujirou let out a small laugh. It wasn't a mean laugh, and in fact it was fairly pleasant. "...I guess I'll find out before you, then!" He said, grinning.

For some reason Himura-san made him want to be vindictive. Soujirou wanted to provoke a response out of the former Battousai. "Have a good day, Himura-san." He bowed and turned to go.
