Beginning of the Aftermath. [Active]

Character(s): Rafe and Lorie.
Content: The partners are sent on a sub-mission to retrieve a pair of earrings.
Setting: Some train station in Muspelheim.
Time: Afternoon during Rufus's meeting Kadaj.
Warnings: Childish (in the good way) gobbling squeeing from both Turkeys.

"So, those earrings?" chimed Rafe's voices to the ticket vendor. "I'd like to take them back and repay twice the price."

Those branches the cobalt-haired Turk snagged from a tree came in handy, for as he shook them (mildly chinging like coins, ironically) the native Paixaonese's blue eyes grew as wide as lime. Rafe had to chuckle at the childlike expression.

The exchange was easier than he thought, and soon enough the taller Turk tossed the glittering accessories up and caught them in a swipe. He continued the motion as they walked away from the station, pausing only once they were blocked out by a willow-like tree.

Turning to his long-haired comrade, he took her hand and dropped the jewels into her hands, shutting it as he cupped his own hand over. He wagged a finger in between her eyes in a mock scold. "Article obtained! Take better care of those, mm'kay?"

"Ahhhh!! Raffy!"

Lorie squealed louder than she had ever squealed before. She would have thrown her arms around the man if she had not been delicately holding that set of her most expensive, and most favorite earrings in her palm. A palm which was also being touched by Rafael's. She looked up at him with bright, happy eyes, bouncing on the heels of her shoes and giggling madly.

"Thank you so much, you are amazing!! I'll never lose them again!"

Lorelei stared blankly for a moment. And then broke out in a fit of nervous giggles, lifting her hand to her mouth to cover it. She also turned bright red in the face, averting her eyes from Rafe's gaze as she attempted to quite herself down. "Ah..." she began, voice muffled. Pulling her hand down slightly, she offered him a glance again and a sheepish grin. "Yes, I did. You see, Sabra and I were about to leave this place, Mr. Rufus was coming inside... and so... I kinda, opened the door on his face."

She held up her hand then to him, almost as an apologetic flag of surrender, still trying to justify that action to herself, quite honestly. It had been very embarassing. "But I didn't mean to do it! Honest! He was just in the wrong palce... at the wrong time, I guess..."

Lorie huffed at the pat to her head and swatted his hand away playfully. He knew very well not to mess her hair up! Thankfully, even if she was a priss, something like that wouldn't truly upset her- how could she be mad at her best friend for something so petty, anyway?

At the mention of being fired, though, Lorelei's face grew bright red and her cheeks puffed out. How dare he! "I was not fired!" she insisted, gesturing with her hands to emphasize her point. "Mr. Rufus knows I'm far too valuable to the Turks to do that! And... besides..." A gasp. "What would my father say...?"
