Horseman's Pride [Completed]
Character(s): Chris Lightfellow & Yun
Content: Chris finds herself in bed, a bit confused...
Setting: Morem o Lisboa
Time: A bit after noon.
Warnings: With these two? Are you serious?
She must've been more exhausted than she realized. Having not entered her room since the attacks began, awakening there had left Chris surprised and confused.
Unable to recall ever heading into back into it, she came to the conclusion that she must have passed out at one point following the attacks on the city. Well, deep down, she probably knew it was going to happen. After all, a good night's sleep was a luxury that the Zexen maiden had yet to obtain ever since her arrival and the fight Axel had fatigued her even more. Thankfully, she was able to keep him from carrying out his maniacal intentions with the power of her rune.
Such a hasty retreat…
In any case, Chris was worried over the amount of time that had passed. While things seemed calm, she wanted to make sure for herself. There was also Yun, who wasn’t in the room with her. Attempting to get up from bed, she found out that it was considerably harder than usual. Possibly because of the heavy armor she was still wearing.
Although her body needed more rest, Chris refused to just stay in bed…

"Good morning!" she greeted as she entered, smiling playfully. She set down the tray of food and went to the side of the bed, holding a hand out to try and keep Chris from getting up. "Don't trouble yourself so. You need more rest, still."

“Thank you for the food.” Obliging the oracle, she kept herself from standing up and remained sitting on her bed.
“How long have I been in bed?”

Her mouth twisted into a frown, then, as she dared to ask the question that had been on her mind since the attacks had ended: "What happened out there, anyway...?"
She had a feeling she wouldn't like the answer.

"It was nothing." She shook her head.
"An unwanted visitor came, and I had to force him to leave, that is all."

She was silent for a short time after that, staring down at her feet and thinking. Everything seemed to be back to normal (as normal as things could get in this place, anyway) but Yun had to wonder if this was only the beginning of something else, something big. Frowning, she shook her head and tried to rid her mind of the thought. Even if that was true, there was nothing that could be done: it was best to focus on the present, for once.
"Well... anyway," Yun continued after a pause, "how are you feeling? I think you would do well with a bit more sleep, but I can't be sure..."
