Ironic Meeting [Completed]
Character(s): Laharl, Ash
Content: Laharl heads off to try and track down Flonne, but bumps into a familiar face on the way.
Setting: Nearish Cafe Ersesat [L7]
Time: Evening
Warnings: None at the moment ^_^;
He was not as pleased as he'd thought he'd be to have found his vassals. (Finding out both were here in one shot was rather surprising.) Flonne was dependably herself ... but Etna... What the hell? What had happened to make her so pissed at him?
He didn't have a single notion of what could have happened. Well, no maybe that wasn't true. They'd argued a lot before ... anything was possible, but still, he hadn't done it YET. (And hopefully if he DID find out, maybe he could avoid it in the future .. cause this had the makings of potentially causing him a lot of pain now.)
Her 'not caring about anyone but himself' comment was kinda bugging him too. As much as he tried to not care about other people, he found more and more he did .. kind of.. didn't not care. Sort of. Maybe .. a bit.
He didn't want to admit to having the slightest bit of this feeling. He'd spent most of his life denying them. Saying it, even now, was practically impossible for him. The words just wouldn't form, so excuses and subject changes always fell out instead. Admittedly he didn't always come up with the best excuses, they often landed him into more problems. It was almost an impossible 'habit' to break.
And, had she forgotten what he'd nearly done that day in Celestia? His actions still somewhat surprised himself looking back on it, but ... he didn't regret it. Would he be willing to do it again? Thinking of Flonne saying good bye to him, and turning into a flower made something inside of his stomach churn uncomfortably. Yeah ... he probably would he was surprised to find himself conclude.
Flonne... At least she was here and hadn't gone insane. He had to find her, before she got herself into trouble, and before Etna found him, or he found Etna. Her backup might be needed, he hated to admit to himself. He sure couldn't rely on Timon to give much help. Screaming wouldn't accomplish much.
He was taking a bet by stepping up to her challenge. If it had been three years, hell knows how much she'd been training. That "Goddess of all Overlords" comment, while sounded delusional, was enough to make him a little uncomfortable. Not that she could probably beat him. He spent hours upon hours pounding on Priere and going into the item world. He couldn't be a good overlord if he didn't keep up his training. He didn't doubt his abilities, he just wasn't sure what to expect from this 'new' Etna.
There was a reason why she was his right-hand vassal. She was devious, sneaky and clever. Afterall she'd poisoned him, taken blackmail photos of him, leaked his weaknesses and led him right into a trap. He had good reason to be wary. If she decided to initate a confrontation, she'd more than likely try to catch him offguard.
Keeping the journal at hand, in case Etna had more to say, or Flonne came up with some better description of where she was, he headed off on the long trek back towards the Niflheim area, hoping perhaps he'd get lucky and be able to find Flonne. He didn't want this to take all night. At least the reports on the journals were right .. the Nobodies had seemed to have disappeared.
(ooc: For the record, Ash and I had chat and we both agreed we're pretty sure Laharl could see Ash, since he's not human, and Disgaea has many examples of spirits. )

So, now here he was, after hours of searching, somewhat breathless and almost to the point of stumbling. Ash knew very well that he needed to stop soon enough but the urgency of the situation would not let him stop. It was a while before he could even convince himself to at least take a break, and only because he needed to find a better way.
So he sat on one of the benches still untouched by the monsters attacking, the only one not destroyed that he had seen. While luck was providing him help as far as the stop of the attacks, it failed to help him find Marona any faster. He hadn’t the time to think before, consumed with the chaos that the monsters were causing – which made the need to find Marona by any means necessary his top priority.
The thoughts still were in his mind and the wouldn’t leave him alone, but now that he looked back on it, he hadn’t made the wisest of decisions. While what he had done, in some senses what better than what Yoruichi had told him to do – it made it difficult to find Marona. As well as Ash could run around this place, it wasn’t helping to find Marona any and only causing strain upon him.
He needed to find a better way of finding Marona, and quickly. For night seemed only a short ways away and he wasn’t sure what this place would become during the night. It was bad enough during the daytime, so he had no doubt that the night would be worse.
Yet for the ‘life’ of him, he could not think of an alternative way to find the girl. Whatever ways he tried to think of were defeated by simple logic. Soon enough he was left on the bench with his head in his hands in frustration.
What would Haze and Jasmine think of him now? … Heck… What would Marona think of him now? Think of him sitting here and unable to think of any good way of finding her. He was her guardian! He should be ABLE to protect her properly.

Crap. Now his thoughts were back on his "ex-vassal". Gah, that was really pissing the hell outta him. If he didn't find out what the heck was going on he'd explode.
He glanced up from the journal and his many thoughts dropped from his mind as he noticed a rather familiar figure sitting on a bench. Well, well ... look who it was.
Laharl grinned almost cheekily. Too bad he was in a hurry, he'd try to get a rematch in if he could ... but then ... he looked kinda exhausted. Tch, that wouldn't be much of a fight. Hey though ... he'd seen the chroma girl's posts .. this wasn't anywhere NEAR where the girl was meant to be.
The overlord couldn't resist this.
"Oi, *You*! ... Phantom!" he called out at the phantom. What was his name again? A... A.. hum. He couldn't quite grasp it at this moment. He grinned anyways and crossed his arms as usual, "Heh heh, going the wrong way I see."

First it had been Yoruichi but now a small kid? How were they able to-... Nevermind, that wasn't the point. The point was this kid seemed to know he was going in the wrong direction. The wrong direction for what?
Then it struck him. Marona.
In almost an instant he was up, his hands moving to his side to a somewhat defensive position. "What do you know about her?" He wasn't even completely confident this kid was even speaking about Marona, but he took his chances.
((OOC: Sorry this is such a sucky post. D: ))

"Tch, calm down, idiot," he muttered as he opened the journal back up and poked at buttons for a quick moment. "So you don't know me yet either .. heh."
He then shoved the thing up in front of Ash's face. The quick glance at Marona's words had reminded him of the phantom's name. "You didn't think to bother with these stupid things the human's are all carrying around did you, Ash?" a smirk grew on his face," You'd have found your chroma a lot easier if you had."
He'd loaded Marona's journal to the comments between Yoruichi and Marona, speaking of where she was and such.
"Actua Are is THAT way," Laharl said with a smirk, as he jerked his thumb over his shoulder in the direction he was headed himself.

“Don’t know you yet…? What do you –!” Before he could even finish, a rectangular device was shoved in his face. He hadn’t been expecting he flash of light in his face and almost stumbled backward from the awkward shock. However, he quickly regained himself and noticed there were words on the screen – words, apparently written by Yoruichi and… Marona.
He listened to the kid’s words, but for the most part he was still in shock by the pictures and words in the rectangular box. He hadn’t even noticed the people around that were carrying them in his time here, too consumed by other things until the kid had brought it up. Yet, that didn’t matter much at the moment in comparison to what was written in the box.
“M-Marona…” His voice wavered slightly as his eyes scanned over the text, reading it as quickly as he could. So she was at a place called Actua Are with some people with her and she was safe for the time being, it seemed. This set some of Ash’s fears at some ease yet he still needed to get to this place. He was about to ask the kid where the place was located when the other pointed it out for him.
Ash hadn’t even waited a moment after the kid had given the directions before darting off down the street.

Laharl then huffed in annoyance as he watched Ash vanish down the street. How was THAT for gratitude, not that he'd wanted any. Blah. The phantom had gotten away before he could make fun of him any further, darnit.
Oh well, he had his own things to deal with. He wasn't sure when having a rematch against Ash would fit in. Maybe he should even drop it for now ... he'd wanted to try to make them vassals before for a reason. Perhaps making enemies of them right now wouldn't be the best of ideas, especially with one of his own vassals turned against him.
He was really going to have to figure out some sort of plan to finding out who did this and find how to get the hell outta here. It's too bad his right hand vassal was being stupid. Well, it was no use standing here he realized and took off down the street himself. He had to find a certain fallen angel.
