Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day [Active]

Character(s): Kuro, and anyone else who wants to join.
Content: You know those extremely bad days that just keep getting worse? Kuro's having one of them. Leg injuries included.
Setting: Just outside of the Niflheim area [I7/I8]
Time: Late Afternoon/Early Evening
Warnings: None, other than bad upon worse events.

Every time he convinced himself that the day wouldn’t get any worse, something bad happened. He didn’t even have to speak the words out loud for karma to cast its curse upon him. Kuro had thought it was a horrible day to begin with, but by now he pondered on how he under exaggerated the word ‘horrible’.  He may have bad days in his life but none of them were much in comparison to this day in particular.

The bad luck seemed to come with the rain, and Kuro wondered slightly if maybe June was frolicking around the area. It never got this wet unless she was around, as rain seemed to follow whenever the other cousin went outside. Yet, this type of rain didn’t seem too characteristic of June’s – her rain was usually a light rain. A light rain was something he could handle, but it whatever was causing it to rain this time would not give him that luxury.

No.

It had to catch him off guard, without a form of shelter to hide under or even an umbrella.  Then it decided that it wouldn’t just come with a light downpour but cause the water to come down in bucket loads – effectively soaking him. He had tried to hide from it somewhere, attempted to open doors but most of them were not giving him an invitation to enter. He swore whatever was here was plotting against him for some reason, and maybe that he was the reason that they had locked their doors. In any other situation, he might have been amused by the fact that he could cause such fear. However, at this point and time, the whole thing proved to be nothing more than a pain in the rear end.

By the time he had actually found an open door, his body was shivering almost non-stop and his nose seemed to be doing the same in the running department. As soon as he managed to get in, he slammed the door behind him before looking around. The room itself was almost in the same shape as he was, with chairs turned over and most of the items in the room either laying in a disarray on the floor or in pieces. This was definitely not the work of a cousin, Kuro pinpointed that easily as his eyes continued to scan for people. They seemed to have all but vanished and Kuro couldn’t help to wonder curiously what had happened to them.

Of course, right when he thought of this, he had heard a scream outside. While he was, in no way, going to go outside, curiosity managed to drag him to the nearby window. At first, he had not been able to see anything but the empty streets outside but then he caught something far out, at the corner of the street he had previously been walking.

A person being assaulted by what seemed to be a creature of some sort. Before he could get a better look, however, the ground started to shake – and he was thrown off his feet onto the ground. He landed ungracefully upon his behind after colliding with a turned over chair. As the room continued to shake, he stayed on the ground – half in order to keep himself from falling again and half because he couldn’t get up – even if he had wanted to do so. For soon after he had fallen, the chair had fallen smack on top of his right leg.

The quake continued for a few moments, and in those few moments – through the pain, he questioned to himself what kind of thing could have caused such a quake. Was this place prone to bad weather or something?

Even after the quake had stopped, he didn’t get any answers. All he seemed to have obtained was a badly bruised leg that, even after the chair was removed – refused to move itself. As he tried to move his leg, pain shot down from it and caused him to cry out. After a few times of repeating this process, he gave up on attempting to move the limb. His back pressed up against one of the walls, he clenched his teeth in both discomfort and distress.

Great.

Just great.

Amy was walking home from work, even though her boss had said to stay where she was because of the monsters. They had lost one employee to the monsters when he went to take out the trash. She had been just about to walk down the street her house was on when the ground shook and knocked her over on her hands and knees. She winced a little, the shock of the unsteadiness of the ground unnerving her even more than the monsters did. She was about to get up when another wave of groundshaking sent her off balance.

When the shaking finally stopped, she cautiously walked down the middle of the street. Hoping and praying not to get attacked by the monsters even though she was an open target.

She got to her house and was about to put her key in the lock when the door, slid open. She stared through the open door for a few moments. "Dad and Michael would never leave the door unlocked," she mumbled. The place was a mess. She stepped inside, looking around and calling, “Dad? Michael?” Her family wasn’t in sight. However she did see something unusual bracing itself against a wall. It wore dark clothes with red and its hair was dark and fluffy. That would make it a foreigner. She grinned a little to herself.

She walked over to the foreign person, a boy, she guessed since it seemed to wear pants. She crouched down, and brushing her hair over an ear, "I'm Amy. What's wrong?"
