Intro post at the gate Niflheim [Complete]

Character: Edward Elric
Content: Ed finds himself outside and a ways bit from the gates of Niflheim without his little brother, Al
Setting: Beyond and at the Niflheim Gate
Time: Mid/late afternoon

Mood:
Confused

Ed groans softly as the low sun focuses directly on his closed eyes and does nothing to ease his headache. Where in the blazes are they? All he can remember is that they were stuck in that god awful maze. Al tried to warn him about something, but he knew what he was doing. How hard would it be to transmute all that hedge?

And now he finds himself face planted in the dirt. He slowly lifts his head, trying to focus on the dome thing that was almost a mile away. He doesn't see anyone else around in the immediate area. Well, the dome was man made, so there was probably people there. Maybe Al went there.

Edward starts walking towards the dome, feeling the chill in the air as he pulls his duster closer around him. Walking seems to take forever, and his stomach is protesting it's current state of emptiness. Eventually, he starts to reach the gate and notices a few people in line and a couple of people that appear to be taking in the names of those entering the gates.

"Al?" Ed starts to pay more attention to the people milling about. Where was his brother? They hadn't gotten seperated, had they? His eyes scann all the strange people as he asks every so often if they've seen a big guy in a suit of armor. Nope. No one has.

Then Ed catches the tail end of yet another comment about his height. Oh No. They. Didn't.

The boy becomes a spitfire spaz, swerving so quickly back at the line, not knowing who made the comment, but making certain that person knew who was boss.

"WHOAREYOUCALLINGSOSHORTTHEIRLEGSCAN'T REACHTHEGROUND?!?!"

Ed chuckles nervously as everyone STARES at him and he walks a little sheepishly to the back of the line. He wasn't going to find his brother any sooner like that.

And there still is no sign of Al.

What could have happened to him? Did he go seek help inside the dome? Was he deposited somewhere else, taken hostage? Ed refuses to think his brother no longer existed. For all of Al's metal, unfeeling armor, he seems (to Ed) to be even more fragile than a fleshed human.

"Al's gotta be around here somewhere. He must have gone looking for help." That's what Ed uses to comfort himself. Half truth Logic. "Heh! Won't he be suprised when I find him, instead!" Ed is next in line a short time later. The man doesn't even look up from his scrawling. "Name?"

"Full Metal Alchemist!" Ed puffs out his chest and shows his shiny watch, but it doesn't impress the man. The seated blond never looks up as he points at Ed to move on with his pen. Another man, looking bored as hell with today, thrusts a flat metal box into Ed's hands.

And then Ed is standing inside the city limits, barely holding onto the item with his Auto-Mail hand and gaping at the 'sky.'

"What is this place? Some sort of megalith Church? A giant fishbowl?"

He sighs softly, hanging his head and then notices that he's still holding onto the metal box. There seems to be a switch, and it opens up to some fancy typewriter with a dark box on the upper half of the box. Ed's eyes widen in surpise when the dark box blinks light and becomes words on the inside border of the box. A small sound of wonder comes from his lips as he starts experimenting with it, finding the map of the place by accident and miraculously, a message from Alphonse!

Ed chuckles to himself as he figures out how to respond to his brother's call for him. "Al you big lug, you're HERE!"
