In all actuality, Dib was very used to bizarre goings-on. Being an aspiring paranormal investigator will do that to you; you tend to get caught up in interesting dilemmas. However, the alarming frequency of strange events that occurred over the past day was beginning to worry him. It must be a new record to, in the course of 24 hours, infiltrate an alien base, get zapped to another dimension (which may or may not actually exist), meet Lucifer Himself, discover the existence of a shadowy organization, get pulled through an interdimensional wormhole by a kid who didn't look much older than Dib, and now this.
Perched on a balcony overlooking the downstairs restaurant, Dib held his X-ray goggles to his eyes and peered at the strange white organisms that slithered and writhed through the panicked croud. Once his goggles were firmly attached to his face, he pulled out his laptop/journal hybrid and began furiously writing notes with the stylus. Fascinating.... absolutely fascinating.... Terrifying, to be sure, but these creatures were of a kind previously unknown to science! It was Dib's intellectual - no moral - obligation to make observations as much as he could, even though his heart was practically in his throat while watching the creatures wreak havoc on the innocent diners. He just hoped none of them would notice him...
He was so absorbed in his note-taking that the sound of Roxas exiting the room caused Dib to jump and nearly fall off the railing. "Gaaah!!" he yelped, waving his arms to maintain his balance. Once his footing was secure, he pulled his goggles away from his eyes and looked over at Roxas. "Jeez, it's about time you got up! These things have been here for fifteen minutes and twenty-four seconds!" he snapped, a little harsher than he'd intended. He sighed and, securing his X-goggles over his glasses again, returned his gaze on the chaos below. "Do you have any idea what these things are?" he asked, not looking at Roxas as he watched a Dusk chase down a woman.
