I Dreamt the Wish I Wish I Dreamt [Completed]

Character(s): Kidd.
Content: Kidd at Gate Niflheim. She enters. She is saddy with sadness at the place.
Setting: Gate Niflheim entrance
Time: It's difficult to tell...
Warnings: Zero

"See ya", is what she had said. Left the world behind in her dreams without even knowing it. Saying good-eye is easier when you hate the world you want to leave... even if there are people you love in it.

The blonde girl didn't arrive at the mysterious gate of silvery ice by randomly awakening from a misty unconciousness. She hadn't been teleported or taken. She didn't even seem surprised when she opened her eyes and there was the towering gate, glistening forward with an unseen and unfelt menace. She didn't know how she got there, but why was easy to understand.

She had wished it.

She had wished with all her heart to be taken to a place where there was mystery and strangers, adventure and dangers, and maybe even unintential rhyming. She had slept and dreamt of a far-away place that was too good to be true, and wished she was there. When the dream ended and she awoke, there she stood, in her dreamland.

Her bright, red clothing seemed mostly out of place near this gate of foreboding ice. The people attempting to enter were in a long formation, and they wore the most wretched things she had ever imagined (or couldn't have ever imagined). They were gaudy and colourless, without flair or something interesting. Her wish and desire to be here was already pondered upon when she noticed the people had no dashing or daring about them. The wish... the dream was for interesting things. But now it was far too late. She was here. And that was that.

She stood in the line, looking around her. Nothing for miles but grass. It may have been miles off, but she thought she heard the very faint sound of ocean waves. Even living near the ocean and water so long has made the sound a keen recognisation of home. She was tempted to leave the line an explore, but... her place in line was moving up, and waiting was making her impatient anyway. She folded her arms, tapped her foot, seemed darker in the skin of most, but found common ground in their blue eyes and blonde hair. They seemed pretty boring, but she would never be like them. After a while, the silence was broken.

"How long is this gonna take?!" she yelled loudly.

Every single person in the line turned to look at her. They didn't seem very happy, but she simply folded her arms and tapped her foot impatiently. She neared the entrance and needed to crook her head far upward to simply glance at the icicles hanging down. It wasn't very cold, but they looked so real. So unlike home. Home was warm and welcoming, but this was nothing but "DANGER! - KEEP OUT! - BEWARE OF DOG!". A person shoved a pamphlet in her hands while she was distracted, and the crowd shoved her into the city.

Inside was so very average. Average neighbourhood with average houses. This was not dangers and strangers! It was boring. The people looked different inside, but they were still mostly blonde haired, blue eyed, poorly dressed people. She opened the pamphlet, feeling contemptuous eyes on her, and didn't notice someone speaking to her as she progressed toward what was named "Promenade Terrace [H9]".

"Excuse me, miss! Your name—"

She looked up, the respect for a title despicable in her eyes. No miss was necessary. They just needed to call her—

"Kidd. They call me Kidd."

"Yes, ma'am— ahh... Kidd."

He had luckily caught her discerning eye quickly, and realised to not call her any "proper titles" again.

"Would you care for a complimentary electronic journal?"

He held the device out to her. It seemed so cute and small, so simplistic and uninteresting. Just like the rest of the town...

"Sure, whatever," she shrugged, and took it from the man who then proceeded to leave her. She played around with the e-Journal, but it didn't seem very interesting at the moment. She studied the map and read the strange titles.

"Villas Salonas...? Porfavore's...? Morem o Lisboa...? What's with this place? This ain't what I asked for!"

She wasn't even pronouncing them right, and she hung her arms with a mix of dejection and annoyance.

"Well, now what?"

She stood in the Promenade Terrace as if waiting for an answer.
