REUNION~ without scary zombie heads (complete)
Character(s): Sabra, Lorie
Content: Hey, I know you!
Setting: Cafe Ersesat, near Muspelheim
Time: After dusk.
Warnings: Uh, none yet...
The quick "conversation" with Lorie out of the way, Sabra decided she was ready to make her move again. This was quite bothersome, having to dodge the white things and hide from them. She would prefer to have secured an area and then moved, but without knowing her exact situation it would be reckless to expend large amounts of resources for a 'likely' result.
The journal, she supposed, was tucked back into one of her pockets. It was regrettable that she was carrying the suitcase, but she didn't have time to properly dispose of the information inside, so she had to carry it with her. At least it could also be used as a weapon. A quick survey of her position told her that the cafe was to the left.
Another check of where the current enemies were and she made a dash for it. She was a few steps from the cafe when she caught the reflection of another of the more humanoid looking white things behind her. Instinctively she ducked to the left, the pointed 'hand' (though it was hardly that) caught the shoulder of her jacket.
"...tch," She swung around, bending low, weapon out. And it dropped to the ground and ... well... it was hard to explain. Sort of swiveled around her. Sabra made the choice to keep moving towards the cafe then, slamming into the door with her shoulder as way of 'knocking'.

"Sabby!" she cried joyfully, opening the door a bit more so she could fit inside. Eyes wide, she saw the swarm of odd white creatures that were hot on her tail, it seemed. "You too?" she asked, despite the obviousness of the question--they'd discussed it, after all. Lorie stepped back from the door then, quickly, to give her room.
"Don't forget to lock the door~!"
no subject
The door was pushed shut and locked, and she surveyed the area for anything else that might be used as a barricade. "...we should probably barricade ourselves, for now. Until an accurate assesment of the situation has been made. Tables." Always short when under stress, Sabra slid the suitcase further into the cafe with her foot and grabbed a table, dragging it over to the door.
no subject
"...Well, you heard her!" she eventually spouted, looking over her shoulder to the locals in the cafe (who all seemed to be huddled in a corner farthest away from the door and windows at the moment. "Barricade!"
Nobody moved. She didn't bother to encourage them; after all, she was the Turk- it was her duty to defend the citizens. Hurriedly she rushed to another table and shoved it near to a window. Checking first to make sure it was secured properly and the shade was drawn, she shoved it top-up against it, so one would not be able to get past it unless they climbed to the very top of the window.
She secured it in place with the chairs from the same set up, and continued the processes until there was nothing left. There weren't many (about five or six), so it didn't take too long.
"Don't worry everybody!" she called over her shoulder just as she pushed the last table over to a window. "You're all going to be just fine. We're Turks!"
No one seemed to be comforted by the statement. Well, the white things could be scary, she supposed.

"...are there any other exits or entrances?" She asked, but didn't expect an answer. Her eyes were already checking the room for possible escape routes. They were in a fairly good situation, actually. "...Stick together." She advised them, she planted herself on the right side of the room, about midway. That way she could catch anything that came in the front or the back. The suitcase was between her feet and she was ready for anything that came their way.
"Ready, Lorie?" If she was to judge, their barricade wouldn't last forever.
no subject
She sighed, and looked over her shoulder at the other Turk. Before answering, she quickly headed to the place on the floor where she had left her shotgun, and picked it up, cradling it under her arm and preparing it to fire. "Yep, ready!" she enthusasitically replied.
The Nobodies were starting to hit against the door violently. They sensed the humans were huddling inside of there (they had no eyes, so they could not see where they went), and so it became their determination to get inside, past the barrier of the door and tables.
Lorie furrowed her brows and pouted her lip confidently, awaiting the break in. "Everybody remain calm... you're gonna be all right." Click. A pull of the trigger, and those darn white things would get a face full of lead!
no subject
Sabra's eyes went to the door, but she forced herself to look elsewhere as well. There was no telling if the things would attack from the windows as well, or even attempt a back attack. Her right hand pulled back, ready to throw at the first sign of an enemy limb creeping past their barricade.
"...don't panic." Was Sabra's other piece of advice.
no subject
Soon, one limb turned into two. Two eventually turned into three, and then four, and then- a woman screamed behind them, but Lorelei didn't twitch. She waited, waited, waited...
One Dusk managed to slip through the door and came gliding through, immediately toward them. Without warning, she shouted- "Mine!" and a shot immediately rang through the air. It landed square in the middle of the creatures head- a perfect shot- and slowly it swivelled down to the floor... eventually disappearing.
Lorie eyed the display distastefully, and then looked up, re-aiming the gun as the other Nobodies began to break through.
no subject
There. "Two o'clock." She claimed that one for her own. The thing slid, jerking limbs waving in some weird sort of dance form. Sabra flicked her right wrist, and as soon as the shuriken was flying she was digging in her jacket for another. Lightning fast there were three bo-shuriken buried in the thing's head.
...they were coming in numbers that were more than would be able to be taken down like that. Sabra checked her bo-shuriken. She had five more, it might be better to switch tactics. She moved closer to Lorie, planning on getting anything that got through her fellow Turk's shotgun. "I'll cover." Was the explanation, though Lorie probably could figure it out on her own.
Sabra touched the materia that were in the slots on her shuriken. She didn't like to use magic, but it might be more effective, and she'd keep it in mind.

However, a few managed to sneak by- they were crafty bastards, and fast. Gasping as one slunk quickly close to her, Lorelei jumped back and allowed Sabra to take care of the stray one while she concentrated on continuing to shoot at them. So far, they were pretty successful. The shots landed as described, although for a few it took more than once to do them in. It was a pretty even battle and Lorie really wasn't scared of these things, they were mostly an inconvenience...
no subject
Any that made it through the shotgun were dealt with. So far the best strategy had been to knock them down and then use her body weight to cut into them. It took more work to defeat them than it did to kill someone -- a fact that she kept in the back of her mind.
"Still holding up?" She called over to her fellow Turk, before ramming one of the points of her shuriken into an enemy and swinging it down towards the floor.
no subject
The citizens were obviously terrified, but the job only seemed to get easier as the battle raged on. Lorie wasn't frightened and she knew for sure that Sabra couldn't have been either. The numbers dwindled slowly, and eventually, Lorie aimed the nozzle of her shotgun at the last one- BAM. Right in the head!
She giggled schoolgirlishly and looked at the other Turk. "That's all of them. I think we're in the clear, at least for now!" Glancing over her shoulder, she smiled at the Paixaoans huddled back into the corner, even now "Hey, could you tell me what exactly those things were?"
Nobody seemed to know. That, or they were too afraid to answer... she frowned slightly and sighed, shaking her head.
no subject
"Looks like we've got some temporary relief," Sabra nodded, she moved forward to retrieve her throwing shuriken. Waste was never a good idea, especially in an unknown territory. With all of the shuriken she could find tucked away in her pocket, Sabra flicked open the journal again. It seemed to be more informative than the locals.
Scanning a few posts, and looking up every now and then to make sure their area was still secure, she came upon an interesting post (http://community.livejournal.com/paixaomb/30707.html). "Lorie, Rafael's here. So are Tseng and ... Vincent Valentine. Raf's in Vanaheim. I told him we'd go pick him up, we can go by train or by foot." She wondered if the trains were still operating evne though the city was under attack.
no subject
At the mention of other Turks present, her eyes lit up with delight, and she smiled. "Raffy and Mr. Tseng?!" She tooka moment to process the other name, though... and blinked a few more times, as before. "...Vincent Valentine? Isn't that.. guy.... dead." She looked up and stared blankly ahead for a moment. And then gasped softly. "Wait, I had spoken with him too!" Oddly enough, she hadn't realized who he was when they even talked about him being an ex-Turk. That was just Lorie being dense, though.
"Something weird is going on," she said, almost pouting. "None of us were in the same place, but we all ended up here. And... Vincent..."
no subject
"...you have?" She looked back at Lorie, blinking with some surprise. So, Lorie must have either talked to him face to face or on the journals and judging from the 'isn't that guy dead' part, it was over these journals. "...Yes. Very odd. Perhaps it is better if we regroup first, then we can figure this out..."
no subject
She sighed, shaking her head, not allowing herself to get too doubtful or skeptic. That would only make things worse, right? So, on a lighter note. "Maybe we should just regroup as soon as possible, pool what we've all discovered, and work from there..."
Her eyes tilted toward the ceiling, to the windows and doors, with a cautious, nervous gaze. She suddenly felt like she was being watched. Maybe it was just her imagination.
no subject
"...you're right. We should head for Rafael's position..." Vanaheim. It wasn't horribly far away, judging from the map... Sabra lifted her head from the journal to follow Lorie's gaze. Did the other Turk see something that she didn't? "...Lorie?"
no subject
"Anyways," she said, peering down at the journal again. "Where is Raffy? If it's far, there's a train we can take... if we hurry and try to remain unseen we can avoid all of those weird white things, for the most part. I have a lot of ammo left, though, just in case we run into something a little harder to deal with." A reassuring smile, she nodded to confirm it.
no subject
"...Vanaheim, and he's by himself..." Sabra didn't want to outright say she was worried. Which, of course, she was. While Rafael had offered to come to their location she had refused, since he was by himself and there was no telling what the white things would do. "I've got a full set of weapons on me... and some materia..." Her eyes fell on the briefcase she'd been carrying however. With a small sigh, Sabra knelt, clicked it open and pulled out the disk. With that pocketed, they were good to go.
no subject
"Ah!" She gasped suddenly, and then prodded Sabra in the shoulder excitedly. "Mr. Rufus is here too, how odd! Although..." She frowned slightly, quirking a brow. "He seems to have mistyped something. His post says he's the President. Unless..." Could Rufus be behind this...? No, that was a really dumb idea! "...I don't know. Anyways, we should get in contact with him!"
She couldn't help but smile. They were lost, but, well... at least it seemed everyone was lost together, so that was a plus, right? Right!
no subject
"...that's .. odd." About as odd as Vincent Valentine existing as well. There was something seriously wrong with this place. First, the utter strangeness of the citizens, the journals themselves, the white attackers... and people from all over popping up. She found the post with her own journal, reading it over a few times. "...Hm."
She thought, perhaps, it would be best to contact Rafael first, with news of Rufus's apparent arrival. Or at least, see if he was aware of the "president"'s existence. "I'll contact Rafe, and see if he knows anything..." She reread Lorie's response to Rufus's post, shaking her head with a small smile.
