In this topiX, OUR THE Roy (LOTY-985-1001) gets lost. [complete]

Character(s): Roy, anyone nearby (please?)
Content: Roy finds himself in Conformity City, wonders what happened, wanders around, arbors suspicions of SKULLDUGGERY, and more.
Setting: Joutenheim Gate, nearby Cafe Ersesat
Time: Eh, noonish.
Warnings: FE6 spoilers I suppose, and also my retarded sense of humor got out (if you couldn't tell).

This probably wasn't something any of the dragons did. Could it have been a dragon's fault? No way. Their illusions weren't THIS insane.

Roy shifted his headband aside in the interest of massaging his temple, trying to remember. Before everything went dark and he woke up surrounded by blonde apparently-humans, he'd been in Arcadia, helping with Idoun's emotions. He vaguely recalled coaxing her into reading an old book of bedtime stories, but she didn't seem to be absorbing it...

And the last time he recalled eating was, judging by the position of the sun and the nearly nauseating maelstrom in his stomach, about a day and a half ago. Receeving awkward directions to a cafe from a (blonde) boy who repeatedly offered to shine his boots, Roy stumbled in, ordered a drink and a foreign-sounding food he thought he remembered to be a snack cake served with tea and coffee based on a culture and etiquette lesson Cecilia had dragged him through when he was eight.

Roy had had bad days before. This case was extraordinary.

It was night near the village of Kalm, but the small group of armed men prowling about in that darkness could not care less. This was not because they held any believe that there were no monsters in the dark that weren't there in the light, or that they were simply brave.

No, the reason the dark did not scare them was one man. At the point of their formation stood a tall man all in black, with long silver-white hair that seemed to glow in the moonlight. When seen, his eyes -did- glow in the darkness, twin beacons of blue-ish gray light in the thick and heavy night.

"Strider, Katsuko. Scout ahead, and keep your weapons ready. Those wolves that have been tracking us for the past hour haven't just gone away." This was said, not in a worried voice, but with complete and utter calm.

Two men saluted and proceeded forward, weapons drawn and ready. They wore the red and gray of ShinRa infantry, and the machine guns they carried were impeccably maintained. These men took pride in being the advance guard of one of ShinRa's most highly decorated generals.

That general, once they had gone, gave the signal for the rest of them (five men in total) to make camp. As they went about that, he went about securing the perimeter. Some other teams might be soft enough to take refuge in Kalm's inn, but this man took pride in being independant.

As he passed behind a tree, out of sight of his group, he was overcome by a momentary feeling of vertigo. Blinking and shaking his head to rid himself of the feeling, he found himself suddenly bathed in noontime sunlight, standing before a pair of stylized giants. This, he mused, is decidedly screwy.

Seeing a steady stream of people flowing between those giants, he shrugged. Having no way of recreating whatever effect had brought him here, he saw no reason not to blend in with the locals as best he could. And, since they were going into the dome...

As he passed into the dome, he was accosted by a young man in impecable livery, who proceeded to foist an armload of brochures and a small silver device on him. Feeling vaguely bemused, he checked one of them, a map of the city (Paixao? Not a city he'd ever heard of...), and found a nearby cafe. Since this seemed the best place to gather information (as well as peruse the armload of brochures), he made for it, his attire drawing a few curious looks from the various blonde-haired, blue-eyed citizens.

He felt a little uneasy about the way the gatekeeper had evinced no reaction whatsoever to his name. There wasn't a man, woman, or child alive on Gaia who didn't recognise Sephiroth, the scourge of Wutai...

Sephiroth did not make straight for the table with the only non-blonde he had yet seen. He did not go to the bar. He didn't even ask to be seated. He went instead straight to one of the many two-person tables and spread out his parcel of brochures, hoping to glean some knowledge from them.

One of them almost made him choke back a bark of laughter. 'So You've Just Arrived in Paixao and You're No Longer What You Were: A Beginner's Guide to Humanity' read the title of a colorfully decorated pamphlet with a speaker built into its front. Given the book's title, he figured it was probably set up so that a 'new' human wouldn't have to know how to read to make use of it.

This he set aside for later perusal; while there wasn't much he was likely to get out of it in the way of information, it looked like a fun read. Instead, he picked up one of the other booklets, picking up instead a book that depicted one of the glowing creatures on its cover. This, he settled in to read, hoping to gain some more useful information.

OOC: No worries. I'm not picky. ^_^

Sephiroth glanced up to see the red-haired stranger standing over his table. "I assume you're talking to me. As that is the case, I don't know; I don't know how confused you are. I am, however, trying to educate myself as to the things that confuse me."

A waitress had, by this time, wandered over to his table, looking somewhat agitated. "This isn't a free seating area. I'm afraid you'll have to order something or leave," she said, addressing Sephiroth directly.

He raised a brow in return, and looked down at the menu scattered amongst the brochures. "Black coffee, please. And a danish," he said, producing a few coins from a pocket of his coat.

Sephiroth shook his head with a bit of a sigh. "I'm sure they'd be happy to provide you with a set. As soon as my danish arrives, I'm leaving. I need to arrange for lodgings, and the sooner the better, since there does not appear to be any easily accessible way back to my home."
